Yes, early this morning Merl and I had a good old time. We chased each other all around the living room and up and down two bookcases and knocked over several picture frames and a knick-knacks (one Tiki and one little house that looked like a Hobbit house). Mommy looked at me especially and said, "you both were naughty, weren't you?" "I know Sampy didn't do it because he was with me." I looked at Mommy with my big yellow owl eyes and gave her that look, "Who me?" "Who Merl?"
Luckily nothing was broken, Whew!! Anyhow Mommy doesn't get that mad when we knock stuff over. If we go behind the computer or the TV in the computer room, she can get a little grouchy.
Later on today, Mommy got out some of her old 45's. These go all the way back to before I was even thought of. (Mommy's Note: 1960's)
There was one song she played that got my motor running and I had to jump into her lap and nuzzle, rub and purr. Mommy told me it was called "Some Velvet Morning" by Lee Hazelwood and Nancy Sinatra (Whatever!). It was a folkie type song that mentioned "Phaedra" in it. Mommy said she's thinks Phaedra was a Greek goddess of love . . . but not too sure. Also, she played three times "Born on the Bayou" by Creedence Clearwater Revival; and "Hey Gyp" by Donovan; and a Canned Heat song called "Going Up the Country". She played some other stuff that made Sampy's ears go back and he had to leave the room. I believe the group was called Iron Butterfly.
As to music, I like the stuff Mommy plays now: Lindisfarne, Enya, Loreena McKennitt and anything Celtic. I like Irish harp music and I really like "Venezuela" by Rita Connolly. This is the song she took a video of Sampy and I playing with the "birdie" on a string. Our playing went right with the music.
Sampy tells me he likes Beethoven. He was raised on Beethoven.
He really likes "Fur Elise". So does Mommy.
So much for a trip into the past via the "cool one", the Bail. Maybe Mommy will play some more oldies for us tomorrow.
But for now I got to go. BREEEEEEEP TO ALL. HAVE A GOOD WEEKEND!
