Arrival Story: One day in 1997 I saw a photograph of five kittens that had that Maine Coon look. Underneath the photo it said "free kittens, all boys and below that was a phone number. This photo was attached to a bulletin board outside a grocery store in Solomon's Island, MD. I called the number and went to pick up Sampson (who I named after his dad. I just added the "Silver Dollar" part to it because he had a little bit of silver cast to his fur. The owner told me his dad was silver, longhaired and big. He hid the whole time I was there. I did get to see baby Sampson's mommy who was a tiny shorthair named Skimpy. She looked like a kitten herself.
Bio: Sampson or Sampy or Pooter is the most affectionate cat I have ever owned. He loves giving me sandpaper licks, especially in my hair or on my chin. When I sit down at the computer, he always wants on be on my lap and starts in with his kneading and drooling and licking and purring. Every night he sleeps with me behind my knees. He loves to play fetch and he initiates the game by bringing me toy mice or pom-pom balls. Sometimes at night he brings me mice or balls and I find them on the bedroom floor in the morning whereas they weren't there the night before. When Bentley passed away Sampson became more and more effectionate. It was like he was glued to me. I had to get him a playmate and I did so in June of 2005. His name is Bailey Gray Cloud and he will be entered also in Catster as one of my cats.

CAT OF THE WEEK:
Hey, Everycat! I'm posting a quick note to let everycat know that we finally got into Catsterland. Our password had to be changed just like many others. It was like we all lived in one big house and we lost our keys. We were living on the streets unable to get in.
Now it feels great to be back home! It's so pawsome!
Lastly, I'll update sometime tomorrow to keep everycat posted on my current health status.
I finally am able to get into Caster after a long period of DDOS' and cookie fleas. About cookies, give them to Mommy as she's the Cookie Monster especially when it comes to chocolate chip ones!
Anyway, I have low kidney function and have been receiving fluids everyday until further notice (it may be for the rest of my life). I'm at state 4 kidney failure and a lot of my stage 3 kidney failure was exacerbated (big word for a small 8.6 lb cat) by an infection in my tooth which got me dehydrated. We shall see after this second bag of fluids runs out and my blood work is done again.
Yes, it's a bummer getting old and having to have all these ailments. Still, I press on and take it one day at a time and cherish what little time I have left. Just a little lick on my ear from Joss helps me feel better or even a cuddle or lick from Landy. Of course, cuddles from Mommy help too.
I thought the day that Mommy came home and took me out of the hospital would never come. Thank goodness it did! Now she and I are home. I got lonely for her and my sibs. Especially, Landy,, my cuddle bro. Mommy thinks Bail took my place as his cuddlier. We think it's true as those two were cuddling on Mommy's bed. She took a pic and put it on FB.
Anyway, Mommy told me she did a lot of shopping, eating at restaurants, barbecues, whitewater rafting and riding the Durango-Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad all in a place called Colorado.. There also was her Dad's and Mary's anniversary and Mary's 86th birthday. One night they had a barbecue and had a campfire afterwards and a ghost story was told about a haunted hotel in Silverton. Mommy said it was creepy. In 2008, Mommy went to the haunted room in said hotel and saw nothing. Her stepbrother's fiancée said she took pics of the window where the ghost of Luigi appears in the glass. Anyway, all picks she took of that window came up in her camera marked "error". Now that's creepy!!
Mommy got home yesterday and picked me up shortly thereafter. When we got home, she discovered there was no hot water. She then went into the cellar and found muck, silt and small pools of water around the stairway. That's when she freaked out and called her neighbor for help. He called Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission and shortly thereafter a man came over to check out the damage. He said it didn't look bad and a cleanup crew would be out on Sunday (tomorrow) and a plumber to light the pilot light in the water heater and to check out the furnace.
All in all, the water heater is up and running. The furnace is drying off and should be good to go tomorrow.
Well, that's about it for now. It's time for my meds.
