indoors and outdoors Arrival Story: One day in 1997 I saw a photograph of five kittens that had that Maine Coon look. Underneath the photo it said "free kittens, all boys and below that was a phone number. This photo was attached to a bulletin board outside a grocery store in Solomon's Island, MD. I called the number and went to pick up Sampson (who I named after his dad. I just added the "Silver Dollar" part to it because he had a little bit of silver cast to his fur. The owner told me his dad was silver, longhaired and big. He hid the whole time I was there. I did get to see baby Sampson's mommy who was a tiny shorthair named Skimpy. She looked like a kitten herself. Bio: Sampson or Sampy or Pooter is the most affectionate cat I have ever owned. He loves giving me sandpaper licks, especially in my hair or on my chin. When I sit down at the computer, he always wants on be on my lap and starts in with his kneading and drooling and licking and purring. Every night he sleeps with me behind my knees. He loves to play fetch and he initiates the game by bringing me toy mice or pom-pom balls. Sometimes at night he brings me mice or balls and I find them on the bedroom floor in the morning whereas they weren't there the night before. When Bentley passed away Sampson became more and more effectionate. It was like he was glued to me. I had to get him a playmate and I did so in June of 2005. His name is Bailey Gray Cloud and he will be entered also in Catster as one of my cats.

This is to let everycat know that I've been on Tapazole ( 2 little pink pills a day) for about a week for my slightly overactive thyroid. I have no adverse reactions so far; no vomiting or lethargy. One thing for sure, my itches haven't gone away as of today. Maybe it takes longer than a week before the drug fully works.
Next Saturday, Mommy takes me to the vet for followup blood work to see how well the Tapazole is working. If everything goes well, I stay on these two low dose pills per day for the rest of my life.
So, I'd appreciate some purrs that everything works out well and these pills keep my thyroid working normally.
Can you believe it? Joss and me are honored today for our Mother's Day Diaries! Cool!!
Thank you Diary Gal for this honor! I also thank my pawsome friends for their gifts & concats:
1. ANGEL BUDDIE & Family - pawsome pawmail;
2. MILO BLUE EYES & Family - cool blue rosette;
3. SMILEY CASSANOVA - pawsome pawmail.
Also,we got cold weather again. It's only 59 degrees now with an expected high of 61. Tomorrow it's to be 64 degrees. We won't have windows open days until Wednesday when it's supposed to be 79 degrees. I can't wait!
Lastly, Joss bought Mommy a toy mouse this morning. She meowed while she carried it upstairs in her mouth and dropped it at Mommy's feet. She does exactly what I did when I was a youngster! Way to go, Joss! You're one smart cookie!
I wish our Mommy and all Mommies in the world, a Happy Mother's Day!
I was good to our Mommy today by giving her many licks and singing to her. Also, it made her feel good to see that my leaky, squinty, right eye is doing better today.
As to my blood work, the vet called Mommy late on Friday night, and she found out that I'm going to be put on Tapazole for my slightly overactive thyroid. The vet believes this is why I dropped down to 11 lbs and also it could be the reason why I get the itches. Anyway, she gets to pick up the Tapazole after work tomorrow and then I get the pills the first thing Tuesday a.m. Hopefully, these pills will work on me and make me bulk up a bit and stop itching.
Lastly, we sent out some freebee #1 Mom trophies. I also thank everycat who sent them to our Mommy.
Well, that's it. Time for a nap and then my heart meds when I wake up.
