Arrival Story: One day in 1997 I saw a photograph of five kittens that had that Maine Coon look. Underneath the photo it said "free kittens, all boys and below that was a phone number. This photo was attached to a bulletin board outside a grocery store in Solomon's Island, MD. I called the number and went to pick up Sampson (who I named after his dad. I just added the "Silver Dollar" part to it because he had a little bit of silver cast to his fur. The owner told me his dad was silver, longhaired and big. He hid the whole time I was there. I did get to see baby Sampson's mommy who was a tiny shorthair named Skimpy. She looked like a kitten herself.
Bio: Sampson or Sampy or Pooter is the most affectionate cat I have ever owned. He loves giving me sandpaper licks, especially in my hair or on my chin. When I sit down at the computer, he always wants on be on my lap and starts in with his kneading and drooling and licking and purring. Every night he sleeps with me behind my knees. He loves to play fetch and he initiates the game by bringing me toy mice or pom-pom balls. Sometimes at night he brings me mice or balls and I find them on the bedroom floor in the morning whereas they weren't there the night before. When Bentley passed away Sampson became more and more effectionate. It was like he was glued to me. I had to get him a playmate and I did so in June of 2005. His name is Bailey Gray Cloud and he will be entered also in Catster as one of my cats.

WOWZA! We got a double whammy today, Merl & I. Thank you Catster for this pawsome honor!
If I were a magical thinker, I would think Landy's luck rubbed off on me when I licked him yesterday! Then Merl must have licked him too when nobody was looking. Really, it's luck! We've gotten diary rolls before and so have our friends. Cammie Rose thinks all of us are dating the Diary Gal lately. Oh well!
Also, I thank my pawsome friends for their kindness and gifts as follows:

Also, yesterday, after Mommy did all her housecleaning, her guest came over. They watched a movie and had pizza delivered. I missed out on the pizza as that came while I was taking a nap upstairs. Landy told me about it as he had a little piece of cheese off Mommy's slice.
I visited them and stood on their lap for a bit. I also understand that Merl got brave last night for the first time in three years. Yep, Merl, it's time to push past that fear of other humans in the house besides Mommy.
My concats also go out to Merl on his diary too! It's fun sharing the limelight with him!
That's about it. Soon it'll be breakfast time and then the temps will warm up to 70 degrees. That means a couple windows will be opened for us.

When I found out that Landy got DDP today, I gave him one of my special top of the head baths. He loves it when I groom that area. Mommy thought it was funny when she saw the big wet spot between his ears, and she knew I was the culprit. Bail is the only other one who licks Landy and that's on the side of his neck.
Anyway, concats Landy. You're a diary writer extraordinaire!
As to today's weather, it's BEAUTIFUL. I wanted to go out but Mommy wouldn't let me. She can be a bummer sometimes!

Burrrrrrrrrrrr! It's time to put on my beret! My head's cold! Mommy wore her raspberry beret to work this morning. That's how cold it is.
