I LOVE to play with anything mostly my mousies
I HATE the vacuum
The fur that I chewed off my little mousies
Favorite Nap Spot:
He has 2...On the bed next to Daddy's legs or on the corner of the couch with the blanket on top of him
My husband and I went into our local pet store just to pick up some cat nip for my other kitty that lives with my mom and saw these adorable kittens in the big cage/crate for sale. The only bad thing about this pet store is that you can take the animals out of the cages and hold them. Well, all of the kittens were sleeping except this little one. He just wanted to stay up and play. We kept watching him and took him out of the cage and he was just purring away, cuddling. Meanwhile, little kids were coming in and out and holding all of the kittens. This particular one was ssoo good with the kids, just too relaxed. So, I told my husband, "THAT'S the one I want!" Well, my husband wasn't sure if he wanted to get him right now, we do have Binx and I told him that we didn't want to wait until Binxy got to old for a little brother. So... the suckers that we are.....
We wanted a little girl for Binx and I wanted to name her Zuzu for my all time favorite Christmas story, "It's A Wonerful Life". But, as you can see, he is a little boy, but he doesn't know about Zuzu's Petal's and we won't tell him! Kind of like, "A Boy Named Sue. "
Well...I don't know how to change Zuzu's age on here... but he is 2 1/2 now...:)
He's my good boy! We haven't been on here due to account problems sowe had to "update" Zuzu's photos. That is his new primary photo now...he has grown to be a beautiful boy with some BIG beautiful eyes! Even our vet can't get over his eyes and the color of them! I still love to keep his baby pictures because he was so sweet and the last photo is Zuzu with daddy...he IS daddy's boy!
He is still skittish and we thought that was going to go away with time but...he might always be that way...so we have to be a little more sensitive with Zuzu.

Hello to all you beautiful furbabies out there...
I wrote a WHOLE long story on Zuzu and it went "POOF" and my shoulder is hurting so I cannot type it again...I just want to say that Zuzu is not doing well...He does have the chronic renal failure CRF) and he had an SETBACK and after 4 years of doing all the proper things that we were supposed to do...almost 2 weeks ago his levels went sky high...we are not putting him down yet because he is NOT in pain and he is still going to the litter box and can STILL walk....we are feeding him the best quality food our there with a phosphorus binder because his phosphorus levels are so high...his one kidney that he does have is only working 10%....After 2 weeks of crying and being stressed out he is getting a tad bit better...
Even though you know this day is eventually going to come with a kitty with CRF you are NEVER ready for it especially for as young as a kitty as Zuzu was when he got it at 4....he is 8 now...and he JUST had his Birthday November 1st of this year....
If anybody is looking at this PLEASE watch for CRF symptoms in your kitty...it is a horrible disease....it seems to be so common now...You can look it them on any website...It sneaks up on you....If I didn't catch it when I did we wouldn't have had 4 more years with our baby

We didn't know that our emails were bouncing...and we wondered why we weren't getting any? So I hope now that everything got all straighten out! I am still here!! Getting my fluids...meds...I see my vet for my profiles every 3 months and eat my special kidney food. My Daddy and Mommy take very good care of me. Sometimes I have my hours in the day when I feel sluggish and I sleep alot but then I will perk up. Lately I have been fighting with my brother...a lot of times I start it because of the meds that I am on...but he starts them too...he's a brat. Otherwise nothing else to report...Love to you all!!

This is Zuzu's mommy and I am writing for him. I have told some of Zuzu's and Binxy's friends on here that Zuzu was diagnosed with Chronic Renal Failure.
We took him in on January 18, 2010 a day that I will never forget for the rest of my dying days. He just went in for his yearly but we noticed before that he wasn't having his little piggy appetite for a week or so and his flank looked skinner. He would throw up hair balls a lot so we didn't think nothing of him throwing up this liquidy stuff because sometimes there would be hairballs in it.
When we got to the vets we told them all this, they took his temp and it was high for a kitty...I don't remember the exact number but it wasn't right.
They wanted to do blood work. When they came back they showed that his BUN and Creatnine were high. Those are the levels in your kidneys. So they sent us to this very nice high tech Vet Hospital where they have all the stuff that is required for any animal in any situation. Zuzu needed a sonogram, X-Rays, to see what was wrong with his kidneys. They told us that his right kidney was the size of an egg and the other was not functional...that's why they wanted to do an X-ray also..to make sure. If the other kidney was okay, he would have had a better chance. So, they put him on fluids right away to have his kidneys flushed out and he stayed there for three nights. When they have CRF they have no appetite...so while he was in there he didn't eat much but when we would go to visit him my poor baby would get up and he would start eating for us. I am trying to fight back the tears and write this at the same time! The vet who was looking after Zuzu in there told us that we are going to have to administer IV fluids to him everyday. So they showed us how to do it. I am so squrimish...so my husband does the needle part and I help him keep Zuzu stay put because he hates staying still. The vet over there told us to come back in a week or so so we can retest Zuzu for his profiles.
We took him in and bought some fluids and she said she would give us a call later in the afternoon with his results. So, when she called she said, the levels went up a little more then when we brought him in.
And both my husband and I were on the phone and we asked her, "Well, what do we do now just keep on giving him fluids for this?" Because we knew NOTHING about this!! And she said "Yes, just finish up those two bottles and that will be it" My husband hung up the phone on her. And I yelled at her saying, "What do you mean that will be it?" "Well, I'm sorry, that's all he's going to need" And I said, "You mean he's going to die after these two bags?" And she said, "I'm sorry"
I just hung the phone up on her and went in our bedroom and started crying like I haven't cryed like that in I don't know HOW long!!! I was pounding my hands into the bed saying, "WHY??!!! Zuzu is ONLY 4!!" That can't be it!!!" My husband was all upset we were BOTH basketcases. THEN I got up and got on the internet and started searching everything and anything about CRF. I came across this wonderful site for kitties that have Chronic Renal Failure. It's called, "Tanya's Feline CRF Information Centre" and she has message boards as well. I got on those boards and explained to them just what I am writing to you now and they all were in shock how that vet treated us and the cat and the whole situation. They all told me to get a 2nd opinion. So, I told my husband we are going to OUR vet. We are NOT dealing with an emergency room vet. Our vet happens to be a "all cat clinic". And our vet went to Cornell and has been in practice for over 30+ years. The other one just got out of school I think! She took blood and kidney profiles...BUT the difference with our vet is that over there they "treat the animal and not the numbers." She was feeling around Zuzu's intestines and where his kidneys were and she said, "They said his kidney is a size of an egg? If it was it's not any more because I don't feel it a size of an egg?" I asked her if this kidney disease was from birth because you always see CRF in older kitties and she told me it could have been. There are young ones that get this and it's puzzling she said.
The profiles were a little down from when Dr. Death Vet took them, but right away she gave us med for him, vitamin shots, probiotics, we still have to give him fluids. He has to eat Hill' s special k/d which is a challenge because it's so hard to get him to eat renal food and I'm learning that this is NOT uncommon.
He's holding his own. I ask myself why did this have to happen to a sweet kitty that never bothered any body? Such a sweet little disposition...always a happy-go-lucky kitty...always just wanted to play in life. I ask myself this all the time and I cry.
He has to go next week to check on ALL his profiles. I will try to keep this up on his progress...it's so hard though....so much going on.
If any of you ever remember please just say a little prayer for Zuzu somewhere in the corner of your heart?
Thank you so much :)
Loves, hugs, kisses and purrs,
Mommy, Daddy, Zuzu and Big Brother Binx
