Arrival Story: My Mom and I went to visit the Humane Society one day just for something to do. We went into the cat room and saw Casper in his cage looking frightened and hiding in his litter box. He was all Matted. Was sneezing and had snaught coming from his nose. The Care takers said that he was Deaf and that he had a Upper Respitory infection. I thought he looked very unique having two different colored eyes. We took him out and I held him. We weren't planning on adopting anything we were just there visiting. We left shortly after putting him back in his cage. We got a block away from the Shelter and my Mom said suddenly "lets go back and get him". She did a safe U-turn and went back and to rescued him. We took him home and we noticed he was severly dehydrated and I shaved out all the Matts. We took him to the Vet and got meds for him and the Vet advised us to get him to drink lots of water. When we got home we kept him in the bathroom and he refused to drink any water until my Dad walked in and started to Urinate. He became very interested in it. That's when we figured out that he would only drink running water. We turned on the faucet and he began drinking it. I then went to the store and bought a fountain and have had one ever since. After he got over his Kennel Cough I then gave him a bath. I went to blow dry him and he went nuts as soon as I turned it on. We quickly learned that he wasn't at all deaf. Six years later he is still in perfect health and has become the most wonderful cat and am so happy that we rescued him.
