Milk, Sleeping in odd positions, eating, mousing, snuggling, playing with twisty-ties, grossing people out, keeping her tail clean, chewing on her claws, when we sing the "Mousey House" song.

Dogs bothering her when she's sleeping, canned food with no sauce, other cats not being nice, when her tail gets dirty.

Favorite Toy:
twisty-ties, milk jug rings, real mice.

Favorite Nap Spot:
Computer monitor, on any piece of paper, top of the heat vent

Favorite Food:
canned food-anything with lots of gravy, but no salmon or turkey flavor ! Yuck!

Has a cute little squeaky meow voice. She sounds like a mouse, hence her name. Mostly she just opens her mouth and says nothing. She disguises her genius well. She can play the piano. She helps people cheat at cards and she likes to play Monopoly.

Arrival Story:
Mouse (8-8-2002 - 1-1-2013)was a feral cat in our rural village when we moved in. She was hanging around looking for food with the other group of stray cats. She was a garbage can raider extraordinaire! She had major problems with her eyes (runny and CROSSED!). We thought she was brain damaged, and just "not right". Within a few months, she was the only one of the group of cats left (others had been run over, attacked by dogs and coyotes, and other horrible fates), so we knew we HAD to catch her. The vet said she thought she had feline leukemia and feline aids and would not live long. Well, we had her tested, and all negative! She had been hit by a car and her ears had been frostbitten, so she has no hair on the tips of her ears. Her eyes cleared up, but still she has a problem with them being very moist all the time, and she drools! Because she is missing some teeth in the front, the drool tends to run out of her mouth at strategically planned moments. She tends to gross people out (especially our daughter) and has ruined appetites a few times at the dinner table with her drooling. Her head is always tilted to one side and those eyes are still a bit crossed. Some would say she is a few bricks shy of a load, but we think it's really a clever scheme, and she actually is a genius.

December 2005 she hurt her back leg and that brought another trip to the vet and x-rays which showed nothing broken...but she still limped. She didn't seem to be in pain and could run and jump, but didn't use the leg much. She even caught a mouse not long after. (they always show up in the kitchen in the winter). Now she shows no signs of a limp at all. Mouse will always be an indoor cat and will never be out in the cold again! Although she is just about as goofy as they come (we think she was hit by a car one too many times) we love her dearly and she is a special part of our family. One neat thing about her is that she has extra-soft fur--like rabbit fur.

Dogs are stupid!

I have decided that it is my mission in life to get dogs into trouble with Mom and Dad. Especially Gretta the German Shepherd. For a while, I think I was really afraid of her. Now I have figured out that I am bigger than she is (in the smarts department) and she just plays into my little game. Usually I like to start off by repeatedly walking by her when she is trying to behave...and after carefully measuring, I rub the tip of my tail on her nose and then I RUN really fast and jump up on the kitchen table. So then she usually goes under the table and pretends like she's not there and then tries to sneak up on me. I box her nose with my deadly claws and I take off running into the dining room, under the table and then up on the computer monitor. When Gretta tries to run under the table, she almost always knocks something down and then she gets in trouble for chasing the cat (which would be ME!)
Oh, it is so much fun! I look so innocent, and they think she's been terrorizing me. Little do they know!

Another thing I like to do that just drives her bonkers, is to jump down on the floor and just go crazy chasing invisible mice for about 30 seconds...then I just freeze. She doesn't know if she should chase me or be afraid of me! When I don't move for a long time, she barks and then she gets in trouble. Dogs are so dumb!
Mom and Dad are always telling her to stop chasing the cat! They never see that I start the whole thing, and that I enjoy playing like that! Feline is SO superior to canine!

Well, in the last few days, I have really been using my leg a lot better and don't have to use any pain meds! Now I can stand on both of my back legs and box Gretta's nose, and I don't fall over!
This morning, I found my favorite toy again! We call it my "personal pinecone" and I have missed it since it hid under the china closet. I ALMOST forgot about it! I was having a wonderful dream about playing with it and when I awoke, I remembered where it was! I was able to reach it by lying on my side and s-t-r-e-t-c-h-i-n-g my front leg out ot grab it. Things are really going great for me today! Mrow!

I'm gonna get that pesky mouse!!

Well, I'm on mouse watch tonight. I just KNOW he is in under the sink and I am determined to get him! Last week I was such a good girl, and even though my leg is wonky now, I caught the mouse that was eating up Dad's pancake mix in the kitchen cupboard. He also ate the tops off of all of Mom's spice containers and POOPED in them! How RUDE and disgusting! So I decided he had to go. And this latest one has been eating my Little Friskies chicken with gravy... and that is just wrong to be a-thievin' my gravy! This means war!
