Arrival Story:
I adopted an Adult Cat, in December and had been looking for a Second cat as a companion, both for myself and Gracie, my Adult Cat. I kept checking Petfinder.Com, and saw Checkers at the same rescue group that I had adopted Gracie from, I just knew I wanted her.

Bio:
Checkers is approximately 6 months old, so, still a Kitten. She was rescued from a local shelter, by Julia's Jungle, a Spokane rescue group, and the same group that I adopted her almost 2 year old "Big Sister" from. I really don't know about her background, or how she came to be at the shelter, but, since she is so young, hopefully, we'll have a chance to build a Biography together. ---------------------------------- ---------------------------------- ---------------- Checkers is now 16 months old and is an extremely friendly, people oriented Cat. She loves to "meet and greet" and wants to be part of anything interesting that is going on. If nothing interesting is going on, she's more than willing to create some activity! Playful and active, she is a wonderful friend and companion to her Big Sister, Gracie, who is a wonderfully sweet Cat, but with a shyer temperment. A goof, at times, there's no place Checkers won't explore, but, she is not always the most graceful Cat, and there have been some embarrassing "Tumbles". Some of her odder, "favorite playthings" have included one of my bedroom booties, and the little knitted sombrero, that is supposed to sit on top of a wooden Cat's head, but, which Checkers constantly steals, and which I'll find who knows where. Watching her go from kitten to young adult Cat, has been endlessly entertaining, and God willing, we'll get the chance to grow much older together, along with Gracie. ---------------------------------- ---------------------------------- ---------------- Checkers celebrated her 2nd Birthday on September 15,2007. I've heard that Calico's can stay playful and mischievious for quite awhile, and Checkers is that. She keeps Gracie and I on our toes and we wouldn't trade her for anything!

I'm Three!

Hi All:

Just a very quick diary entry.

The Human Mom has been awfully busy lately, but, she and I decided to
do a short entry.

I turned 3 years old on September 15, 2008.

WoW, time goes fast.

I was about 5 months old, when Mom brought me home from the rescue group, and I and my Sis, Gracie, became friends of the Fur ^..^

It's been a pretty great time. I have a comfortable home, a Mom that adores me and a big Furster that is sweet and lot's of fun to play with and great company when Mom is at work.

Even though I'm a grown up girl, I still sure love to play, and Mom says I am one of the friendliest Cat's she's ever known.
I LOVE PEOPLE ^..^

None of us know what life holds in store and Gracie and I try to tell Mom, "don't look too far ahead, just enjoy what is now".
I hope the three of us have many, many, many great years together, but, how ever much time we're given, I'm goinig to enjoy ever minute of it!!

Ok, I've been tagged by Sally.
I'm going to share with you 5 things that I like to do, and when I tag you, you need to do the same.

1. I LOVE to share Mom's Activia Blueberry yogurt. Mom worries that it might cause me~ummm~problems, but, I LOVE it.
2. I'm indoor only, but, once in awhile, Mom lets me go just outside the door with her and check out the outside world. Wish I could do it more, but, MOL, Mom says no.
3. I am a people loving cat, not shy at all, and in fact, I've heard the term "attention hog" used about me. What does that mean?? But I do love to meet and greet. I have to be the Cat greeter for my Sister, Gracie, too, she's very shy with strangers.
4. I love to play, and I can make quite a mess. Mom has found toys in the oddest places.
5. I love to just hang out with my Sister, Gracie, she's my big Sister and great buddy; of course, I want more of Mom's attention, when she's home!
OK, I'm going to pick my tag's tomorrow and I'll add a new entry, it's late!

Ok, I've been tagged and I need to share 7 things about me:
As a kitten, I was at a rescue gr0up, Julia's Jungle, in Spokane. Mom adopted me, literally, sight unseen, well OK, she saw my picture ^..^, and just knew I needed to come home with her.
I recently celebrated my 2 year annifursury, since my adoption.
I have an older sister, Gracie, who was also adopted from Julia's Jungle, just a couple of months before me.
Although I'm an adult now, I am still VERY active and playful.
I LOVE, LOVE, people. Mom says she's never known a more people oriented Cat.
I love to sleep with Mom, and if Gracie tries to take my place, I'm not shy about shooing her away, or at least to a different spot.
I love to steal little hats ^..^, Mom has a wooden Cat that wore a little hat, and 2 crocheted snowmen, that a friend made her, wearing little hats. Any chance I get, I jump up and steal those hats!
