Arrival Story: Gentleman's real name is Vitus Gentleman of TwitchinTails. He is a retired show cat--was Triple Grand Champion in TICA and was a regional winner in Europe. When we were showing our house hold pets, we made friends with his breeder (who was from Austria). He couldn't speak much English and most people had difficulty understanding him. My husband was one of the few people who could and he helped the breeder by ordering him a pizza over the phone and just talked with him and made him feel more comfortable being in America. About 6 months later, he offered us one of his cats--Gentleman. We had to fly into NYC and met him at the airport to bring the cat back home. We actually had to carry him on the plane as one of our carry-on items! The image of my husband carrying him in his arms (without the carrier) through the metal detector/security check was absolutely hysterical. Unfortunately, he became very ill about a week after we got him home. We took him to the vet, who told us he was going to die. We spent over $1,000 on all sorts of tests and medical proceedures before deciding to switch vets (we asked for recommendations from cat breeders in our area). That vet performed one blood test and told us he had a bacterial infection from the water, gave him some pills and he was fine. He's been with us ever since and is perfectly healthy.

Bio: Katzen thinks he should be a sphynx--he hates hair and will stop grooming himself when it gets too long. So, we keep him shaved. He loves to play attack anything with feathers, fur, or just about any other toy you can think of. He's got a very high prey drive, especially for a Persian. Everything the books say about Persians being calm and not very active is WRONG! He's like a wild man. He loves to be held and cuddled and is the most affectionate cat we've ever had. He's not afraid of anything--including my Mother-in-law's 3 dogs! He's an awesome pet.
