indoors and outdoors

Arrival Story:
Maxwell's mom Twiggy was given to me by a friend when she was pregnant with Maxwell and his brothers/sisters. When he was born he looked like a skunk - his stripes wern't defined yet and he has a white stripe down the center of his back. I fell in love with him immediately. He was born underneath my nieces bed and just before he and his litter mates started walking; Twiggy (his mom) carried them one at a time up to the attic of our house. My sister is guardian of Maxwell's mom and his two sister's Jazzy and Fluffy.

When Maxwell was about 2 years old, he became seriously ill. I spent over $1000 on tests and vet visits to find out Maxwell has an intestinal disorder where the food he eats isn't proper digested. Maxwell underwent surgery to remove a large mass of undigested food from different areas of his digestive tract. He has been taking medication ever since. He has to take his medication a half hour before he eats but he doesn't mind it at all. He actually comes running to me when he hears the pill bottle - and begs as if he's getting treats. After he takes his medication he'll give a smug grin to my other two cats who wonder why they aren't getting medicine too - shhh...don't tell Maxwell but we give them treats when he gets his medicine. Maxwell has traveled with me by car from Michigan to California and by airplane from California to Sicily, Italy where he resides with me now.

Bast of beauty and grace,
Protectress of the feline race,
Shield Maxwell from all hurt and harm
And keep him always safe and warm.
Watch over Maxwell from day to day,
And guide him home, if he should stray.
And grant him much happiness
And a good life free of strife and stress.

Alas we've spread our wings...

My good people it gives me great pleasure to announce that my fellow fur furfriends and I have finally arrived in the United States. We traveled in this big white thing and stayed all night in some place called Milan, Italy. I didn't like being there and scratched my nose up pretty bad trying to escape the cage they had me in. I don't like cages.
Then the next morning we traveled what seemed like forever in another big white thing. I fell asleep and woke up to my human mom's voice. Oh..I was so happy to see her but I really just wanted out of my fly kennel. The traveling wasn't over. We traveled in a car now. Kashmere hates cars and she drove me crazy with her constant whining and complaining. I heard something about Chicago so that must have been where we took the big white thing from Milan, then by car from Chicago to my new home.

Now about my new home. There's this big stupid female breed - I think it's a dog. She's always trying to smell me and steal my food. I give her a good whack every now and then. She yipes and runs. I like having that control.

My room is smaller than my other room and I don't recognize any of the furniture but I do have a new cat bed and count them 1,2,3 scratching towers...whoohoo. I have only been outside once. There was all this super cold funny white stuff on the ground so I didn't wander far. I went from my front door to underneath the neighbors car. I made tracks in the funny white stuff which could be very helpful if I get outside again. There's a stray cat outside my human mom calls him Buddy. He looks easy to sword fight with. I shall challenge him some day.

Well, off to catch some zzz's.

Supposively my daddy is trying to get me and my friends Kashmir and Szandor to Michigan. He told the nice lady who is watching us that he's having a hard time getting a hold of the airline. I hope he finds something out soon ...I miss my mom and I'm not really all that happy living with this dog.
