Arrival Story:
I rescued her, she was very ill with cat flu. She was only 5/6 weeks old and very poorly. Three other kittens from her litter had died. I got the lady to sign her over to me. She came home in the car on my lap. She purred and licked me as if to say 'thanks'. She recovered and grew into a lovely friendly cat. When I started fostering kittens she would mother them. To the point of allowing them to suckle. Some of the feral and nervous kittens she helped to bring round. Everyone was amazed at how she mothered the foster kittens. She was just like their real mother.

Bio:
I have a chronic health condition, which means I dont leave the house much and often have to sit or lay down. Now Fluffy seems to know this. She will not leave my side. She sits on me every chance she gets. Its not just a lap cat thing. If I am knitting she will try and get under the knitting and needles. If she really can't she walks up me and tries to lay on my chest. Sometimes if I am really ill she will come and sit skin close to me as I try to get out of bed. She often lays on the 'bit' that hurts and or touches me with her paw. I dont really believe some mumbo jumbo but everyone remarks about it. She is very very friendly with everyone but if I am in the room she is with me. She is a wonderful little girl, I will always remember our journey home that night in the car. Her so tiny and sick sitting on my lap (it was an emergency no basket) she looked at me all the way home she was not frightened at all. When I arrived home my husband went absolutely nuts (poor man ;-) he shouted at me for bringing in another cat. I am very stubborn if I make my mind up lol. Anyway he agreed in the end that yes it was a very poorly kitten and it could stay until well. This of course was not Fluffy or my intention. A few weeks later he said one day I think you better keep her she seems to like it here. Men honestly!! So Fluffy looks after me but she looked after every single kitten that I fostered. Some were so frightened and feral I thought I had no chance at taming them. Fluffy was like a little miracle worker. She was so patient with them. She sometimes had to wait a couple of weeks before they would entertain her. She would eventually win them all round. She then allowed them to have some comfort by suckling from her just like if it was their mummy. I could then step in and touch them. They enjoyed the mothering from Fluff so much they stayed still and allowed me to touch them making taming almost in some cases near on instant. Nobody at the shelter really believed me but when the witnessed it themselves they saw just what a little miracle Fluff was. I think she enabled some of the kittens to be tamed that maybe would have remained feral. This of course is the difference between their forever home and not. Luckily all the kittens that I had had a complete change around and left happy well adjusted kittens. They all got fabulous homes some of them we still hear from at xmas and via email. There was one kitten that we all failed with. She was the most beautiful little girl. She was such a tiny girlie kitten, she surprised people when handling had to be done, it was like trying to get a hungry lion! She however went to the Vet at the surgery who had a small holding. She had the life she wanted in the end. Bless little Fluffy.
