Arrival Story: Monkey was dumped at a kill shelter in Victoria, Texas, (along with 35 other cats by an inethical breeder. A rescue group, Angel Paws of Texas, saved her. I saw her picture when it was posted on PetFinder, and knew right away that this cat was for me. This was right before Christmas, and flying to Texas from SF was impossibly expensive, so the Angel Paws people held on to her for me until early Jan, when I flew to Austin (and they drove quite a ways to meet me) to pick Monkey up. And then we flew home together, and have been together ever since.

Bio: Monkey sneezes more frequently and copiously than seems possible. She doesn't really "meow", per se -- it's way more of a "beep." She had a lot of babies (one vet said as many as 16 litters), so her body is a little floppy.
Sadly, after a long fight with kidney disease, we had to let Monkey go on Sept 1, 2009. She was purring until the last second of life. I miss her every day.
