Arrival Story:
During the last week of January 2006, she had been wandering around our neighborhood rubbing up against anyone she could find. Neighbors went door to door looking for her owners, but no one claimed her. Very, VERY early on January 26 my hubby went outside for a cigarette (naughty boy!) and here comes the little gal wandering up. She tugged at his heart strings and he brought her food, water and a blankie. She drank water for 3 minutes straight and then ate some food. She was so happy to have a warm place to sleep. When I got home from a night with the girls, I saw her and knew I couldn't just leave her outside. We brought her in and set her up in the bathroom until we could figure out what to do with her.
The next day we took her into the Humane Society to see if she had a micro-chip. She didn't so we filed a report with them and they said if nobody claims her in 30 days she is all ours. At this point, I think she will be with us permanently. That is mighty fine with me, she is a sweetheart and Smokie finally has a playmate!
