Hello all,
My name is Jack, at this point in time I'm not quite a year old, I am incredibly large though :) and I will get bigger before to long.
A little bit about me.. well, My mother was a wounded stray that my human found, got her medical care, and took into her life. My Mother, she was a strange cat, neither suited for indoors or the outdoors, within a few weeks, she developed a belly of sorts, and not too long, there were four of us, me and my "twin brother", charlie(who lives with my humans mommy) a double coated grey and white, who was affectionatly called angel, and a calico, who was the smallest of us... he only made it a few days...
My mother abandonded us shortly after our birth, weened us too soon.. she was a restless soul.. but a sweetheart nonetheless.
My human lives in an almost country community, where for some reason, people drop off boxes of kittens in her yard, my human has a big heart! but doesnt have the means to care for hundreds of us..... so... disisions had to be made, there was a family meeting... (MORE kitties had shown up and one was very wounded, and very ferile) it was me, and my two siblings, my mom, a wounded cat.... and my other family members....
My human lives close to a shelter, a kill shelter who has been under scrutiny for putting animals down within an hour of he/she arriving, without cause. So that was right out!!
the calls began, and a suitable place was found, a ranch, which specializes in ferile cats, and no matter how bad they are sick, wounded, or wild, they have a place there (get socialized, medical attention.. you name it, hopefully adopted!) however, it was over two hours away! My Uncle mikey and humans mommy, got the car, map ect. my human , got her kennel out... and set out to get the wounded cat in there, some food, a warm bed, it was only a matter of time, when she was in there, mommy moved in, closed the door and set her up for the night.
at daybreak, we were all in the car, on our way to our next adventure.
we all arrived safely... and so did a vanload of cats set for "termination" at shelters all over the area....that they had rescued, the lady talked to my humans mom, and asked if she wanted to keep just one of us....
the call went out.. did my human want to keep one of us... she said yes.. even though she has her hands full with her other pets... she could try...
and my humans mother agreed to take one too...
the disision was hard.... in the end me and my brother charlie were taken.. much heartache is still felt for my little sister angel, the humans have her in there hearts and thoughts daily... my people called the shelter and the lady said she had been adopted the next day... we can only hope to a wonderful home..
I live with my human now, in an apartment, with my brother(spike) and sister (drucilla)of the canine variety... we get along ok.. I love my human , and she loves me, when I need her, there she is, and when she needs me, nothing will keep me away. I am fat and fit and happy, I love to exersise with my family, and I love my scratching post! I dont want to brag.. but its floor to ceiling!
My twin brother lives with my mommies mommy, not too far from here, and we do see eachother often. he has many new family members, three shi tzus, two old half persian cats who dont have any clue how to have fun!
My mom and the wounded cat hopefully found a place where they can be at ease and comfortable.. where no one will ever bother or hurt them again.
the wounded cat had siblings, who live in the woods nearby, we know of them and see them from time to time, but they are very wild.. and the only reason we could catch the one, was because she needed medical attention, and I think she knew that my humans desperatly wanted to help her. Hopefully nothing bad will ever happen to the wild cats in the woods.. but if it does, My humans will step up and do anything to help!
thats the jist of my story! This is me, I'm Jack!
