Will somebody stop the noise?

My human's neighbors have been moving all day and it's really noisy. I can't say I'll miss them. On one of my rare jaunts outside, the matron human neighbor clapped her hands at me when I passed by her door. I wasn't even doing anything. I was sniffing around, enjoying the fresh air. My human called me back into our home and cuddled me.

I'm not looking forward to tomorrow night when humans celebrate the "New Year." Last year, it was so noisy I hid underneath the bed for hours. Granted, I'd only left the orphanage two days before. I don't know why humans get all excited about a particular day. They're all the same, really. I don't even know how to read a calendar. All that matters to me is I get fed, have a warm place to sleep, and that my human knows who's boss around here.
