My Halloween Costume

I belong to several groups. One of the groups, Curious Kitties, is having a themed Halloween party. We have to come dressed as a famous TV, movie or cartoon cat.

I kept thinking I don't know any famous male kitties. I thought and thought and thought. Then it came to me! I wanted to be that cat wearing the lamp shade in the TV commercial who says, "where did everybody go?"

I couldn't remember what the commercial was for. I just remembered the scene. Then a fellow Curious Kitty told me it was a Tidy Cat commercial. So I investigated further and found out the kitty's name is Zinger.

I love to scratch my head on lamp shades. That is why mommy says this is the perfect costume for me. I can't wait. I'm going as Zinger!!!

It's my birthday!

Today is my 4th birthday!

When mommy got up today, she gave Oreo and I treats. I tried to steal Oreo's treats. But mommy scolded me. Can you believe being scolded on your birthday? She told me those were Oreo's treats. She said we had to have an equal number of treats. But Oreo eats so slow! Oreo stepped away so I could have them. What's wrong with taking something somecat offers? Mommy says we will get more later.

This afternoon, she gave us some catnip. She put some on the floor for me but I wanted the whole container. I kept trying to stick my nose in there. Daddy said I was a pig. No, I'm not! I'm a cat! Then she rolled some of our toys in it. I wrestled with those for awhile. Oreo started wrestling with my mice. He doesn't even like mice! How could he!? I had to teach him a lesson so I started wrestling with him. Actually, we end up wrestling every time we get into the catnip. After we were done playing, we went and slept it off.

How long is later? It seems like forever.

Another Lazy Day!!

Today I am doing what I love best. I'm sleeping on the bookcase by mommy's shoulder while she plays on the computer and watches TV. I'm in heaven!

A few days ago, I dashed out of the door and into the garage. Mommy saw me but then forgot I was out there when she came back in. I spent ALL NIGHT in the garage. Mommy and daddy got worried about me the next morning. Eventually, they found me in the garage. Luckily they hadn't put out the lawn furniture cushions so I was able to sleep on them. Mommy said, "That will teach you." I'm not so sure. I thought about going out there again the other day.

Mommy's home! Mommy's home!

Mommy went away all weekend. She left Oreo and I home with daddy. We were all so lonely!

I was so excited when I saw mommy come home. Oreo took one of her shoes and I took the other. Scratch, scratch, scratch those shoe strings! Ohhhhhhhhhh! That feels so good! I'm so glad she's home!

I kept getting on the bookcase and patting her on the shoulder. I had to make sure that what I was seeing was real! When she leaned back to see what I wanted, I would just purr in her ear.

Then last night, I cuddled up next to her in bed. When I wasn't there, Oreo took my spot. Daddy is jealous because we didn't cuddle up next to him all weekend.

Valentine's Day, 2006

Today, my mommy kept taking pictures of me. She said that I needed to attend the Valentine's picture party here at Catster.

This evening, I decided that I wanted to go outside. I kept pawing at the shade on the window. I was hoping that it was open. Daddy kept telling me that it was too cold to open the windows. He said if I kept doing it, he was going to put me out in the snow bank when it snowed again. That doesn't sound like something I would like! I sure hope it isn't too long before we can have the windows open again. If it is too long, I might forget how to open those screens!

Now, I'm laying in my favorite spot when mommy is on the computer. I am sleeping on the bookcase behind her. Sometimes I have to fight my brother, Oreo, for that spot. If I don't get that spot, then I guess I will have to lay on the desktop tower. I don't like that as well because there isn't much room there and I sometimes fall off.

I can't wait for mommy to go to bed. I love to snuggle up next to her when she is sleeping.
