Arrival Story:
I nearly ran her over as she was wandering in the street a few blocks from my house. I picked her up, and set her down on the sidewalk, but she walked right into the way of another car. A neighbor said she was a stray and had been around for a few days. She was very friendly. I took her to the vet to have her tested and fixed. She was infested with fleas and deaf from ear infection and mites.
Bio:
I decided to try to keep Princess or at least foster her until I could find her a home. Her ears got better and she started to hear a little again. She loved sleeping in my bed and she soon captured my heart. Unfortunately she hated my other cats, and though we tried for 2 months, they just would not get along. I just couldn't find a home for her here,and I had to lock her upstairs in the bedrooms during the day, so she would not fight with my other cats. With a heavy heart I decided to take her to a wonderful SPCA adoption center in Eugene, a two hour drive from here and brought her there in December.
I so hoped she would find a great new home for the holidays, and the kind Ladies at the Center said she had excellent chances to be adopted quickly as she was tested, fixed and so well-behaved, ideal if she just could be an only cat.
Sadly, shortly after that, as I was told, she allegedly caught an untreatable upper respiratory infection, so they put her to sleep. I wish they would have called me, I would have taken her back. She was a very sweet cat. I am glad that I knew her and just wish she could have lived a long and happy life.
