Tales of an Orange Furrball

Knead on furriend

I feel my heart breaking all over again... I heard the sad mews that Calvin made his journey to the bridge. I know he will be one pawsome angel, because well he had a lot of practice while on earth, but I will still miss him terribly. I knew this time was going to come, but it is not something I wanted to admit.
Calvin was funny, silly and thoughtful. What an honor to have known him and called him my furriend. There are so many wonderful memories of him... He will furever be in my heart. I thank his mawmee so much fur sharing him with us.
Have fun kneading those fluffy white clouds Calvin, and be sure to get Scooter to teaching you how to do those cool loop-de-loops.

A meow of thanks

My good buddy Dave sent me a rosette and asked me to play a tag game. For this game I'm supposed to share five things for which I'm thankful:
1. I'm thankful that my pawrents took me in to care fur me and love me when I was abandoned.
2. I'm thankful for the comfy snuggles that my pawrents provide me during the days and nights.
3. I'm thankful that I always have a full bowl of food, yummy treats and toys to play with.
4. I'm thankful fur my siblings.
5. And I'm thankful fur my Catster furriends.
I'm not sure who to tag, so how about all furs who have 5 letters in their name, or their name starts with a T fur thankful or is orange is tagged to play along...

My routine

As many of you know I love being on the counter when mommy washes dishes. However when it's our food bowls I love it even more and I lay down on the dish towel. Sometimes mommy can rub me with her wet hands and I get up and ask for more, and because I am up she has room for the bowls. While other times I just keep lying there, so when her wet hand rubs don't get me up, I get a wet pat or spank. And if I don't get up after that then daddy is called in to pick me up and give me attention so mommy has room for the bowls on the towel. Mommy thinks I'm silly because I do this every morning and every night. I meow that it is good to have a routine...

My pawsome buddy Dave tagged me for a game...so here goes:

1. What is your favorite Olympic sport?
I don’t know, in protest we did not watch this year… but if there is one that involves chasing a bird or squirrel then I choose that one.

2.What do you prefer - summer or winter?
Most definitely summer! I love the warm air, plus the snow makes my paws too cold.

3.What is the quirkiest thing you do?
I have a food bag chewing obsession. I love discovering treats, but I do also chew on them when they are empty because I like the noise.

4.Do you have a crush on any other kitty?
I think most of my friend girl kitties are cute but I am too young to date. But I do wish that they flirted with me more…

5.What’s your favorite rosette or gift?
My favorite is… is... well all of them! If a fur took the time to think of me than that is pretty special.

I'm planing something, so for now I will not tag any kitty...but stay tuned.

Just one of the gang now

It's no secret that I hate my harness. And it's no secret that I love being outside. Well I have been protesting it, I cry at the door and I try sneaking out, and every time my pawrents come at me with that dreaded harness...so I run away. Sometimes they run after me and put it on anyways and put me outside, and most times I sit by the door and pout to come back in. This tactic has been working in making mommy feel sad for me. So now mommy has given me a collar with a tag on it so I can hang out on the deck. I'm not totally free because my pawrents are usually outside with me, unless I'm fast asleep on a chair then they will sometimes leave me outside all alone and check on me every few minutes. So now I am one of the gang, I have a collar just like my siblings.

I wanted to wish my fun, silly and thoughtful furriend Calvin a furry Happy Birthday by writing him a diary entry... It is a real 'treat' having him as my buddy!

Why Calvin is Pawsome:
Calvin is In Charge, see diary title
He is multi talented: he can write poetry, he can rap, he tells jokes...
He is a teacher, we learn new vocabulary and cool words & acronyms from him
He has trademarked famous sayings like knead on, wowza and I'm all about
He is a Tri-Fecta winner: Diary of the Day, Cat of the Day & Cat of the Week
He has an entire alphabet of furriends
He has had a Pal of the Week for over a year!
He's famous because he was in a magazine
He's so famous he even has his own cat bed made by Morgan the Pirate Gato's mommy and sold on Etsy.
His mug is on a mug and on a bag and stickers too
He's a brave astrocat

What we have in common:
We are both handsome orange cats
We have each been given nicknames by Monkey Blue, his is Mackadocious and mine is LukieDukie
We both love treats, laps, napping while hiding our faces, and our daddy's nooks (he likes his armpit and I like the back of his knee)
We both sleep in bed at night with our pawrents
We love chasing our sisters, for him it's Samoa and for me it's Sissy
Luna is in love with us (well not sure if she is with me but for the purpose of this entry she is)
We both get dressed up by our mommies
And the most interesting thing we have in common is our furmily, we each have 2 sisters and 3 brothers. He has a funny colored sister (Samoa) and so do I (Sissy), he has 3 brothers that look alike (Violet, Gleek & Spunky) and so do I (Cooter, Copy & Paste), and his other sister kinda looks like his brothers but different (Sugar) and so does mine (Shadow)

What we do not have in common:
He is his pawrents' morning alarm clock ~ I let mine sleep in
He is a bed tester ~ I dont care for beds unless it's my pawrents'
He has a doggie sibling ~ Im terrified of the beasts downstairs
He is an admin for 3 groups: I knead You, Cool Calvin Club & Voki Madness ~ I can't thinks of a club
He has a stroller and goes for rides ~ I have a harness and leash
He has a driver's license & a car ~ I'm not old enough

I was your Pal of the Week once, your my pal always...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CALVIN I love ya buddy!

What ruffles your fur?

My orange pal Alfie tagged me to play a game. The rule is simple: name 6 things you do not like. I had to think long about this because my pet peeves all involve my pawrents from stopping me from having fun... Well here is my list of 6 things I don't like:

~ I do not like that I have to wear a harness
~ I do not like getting in trouble for chasing Sissy
~ I do not like it when mommy stops me from eating the outside cats food
~ I do not like that mommy chases when I'm outside to catch me when I escape or sneak out
~ I do not like it when Cooter gets really grumpy because then he beats me up
~ I do not like getting in trouble after I pounce on Shadow in bed when we are all sleeping

Well furriend, what ruffles your fur? Make a list and add it to your diary.

A little bit free

Every day I try to open the screen door (I can get it open if daddy doesn't properly lock it) just so I can be free like my siblings. Mommy often lets me out when they go out, but I have to wear a harness. Well today I refused to wear it. So after a few tries at the screen mommy decided to let me out on the deck without it, but I wasn't free because she came outside too to supervise me. I was a good boy for a little while until she got distracted petting Callie the calico. That is when I made my break, I ran down the stairs. Mommy followed me but was slow because she was barefoot and the stairs were wet and cold. She let me much on some grass and sniff around a bit. But said that since the yard is not our we should go back upstairs and came to get me. I knew what she going to do, and I refused to let her pick me up so I ran to the other side of the yard, I hid behind the bush and when she came close I ran out and back to the other side of the yard. Then I snuck under the fence and I was free. Of course that did not last long as mommy came into the neighbors' yard to get me. It was lots of fun being free, even if it was only for a little bit. I think mommy had fun too, that was until I ripped her shirt jumping out of her arms as we were on the stairs because those darn dogs came bolting out of their door barking their tails off. Dogs are so rude, such uncivilized flee bags I meow.

BBQ daddy

Today was a fun day, I had a BBQ breakfast with daddy: bagel & cream cheese and scrambled eggs. Ok so really I just watched daddy BBQ and them I tasted his food. Afterwards we hung out on the deck and I made him chase after me a few times when I tried to escape.
Happy Father's Day to all the Catster dads as well as to the mom's who act like dads.

Four tags

I was reading my furriend Calvin's diary and he played a tag game and meowed that anyfur can play even if not tagged, and so I decided I would play.

Name Four Jobs You've Had:
1. Door greeter
2. Deck surveyor
3. Skilled snuggler
4. Model

Four Places You've Lived:
1. With a crappy family who then abandoned me
2. On the streets in the neighborhood
3. With my now mommy & daddy
4. And I will move with my mommy & daddy when they do

Four Places You Have Been:
1. On the deck
2. In the field (unfortunately wearing a harness)
3. Grandmaw & Grandpaw cottage
4. The vet's office

Four Places You'd Rather Be:
1. Snuggling in mommy's lap under a blanket
2. Curled up in daddy's nook
3. Napping in a sunny spot
4. Running in green grass field chasing a squirrel

If you want to play to, you can, just make a list in your diary.

Lucky Luke Day

I may not have found a little green man like my little buddy Sparkman wrote about in his diary, but I had a lucky day anyways. Not only did I hang out on the counter while mommy washed our dishes for breakfast and dinner but it was hair washing day! It was a great wet day because during dish washing mommy gave me the wet hands rub down and cheek scratches so I got nice wet rubs which I love. An when mommy went to take her shower I waited by the door so I could be there ready for when she came out. She even opened the door and rubbed me with her wet hands, and of course when she came out I got to nuzzle and chew her wet hair. Oh how I wish I had the pleasure of wet hair everyday and not every second. Mommy even gave me her wet towel when she was all dry so I could curl up and nap on it. Today was pawsome, a lucky Luke day.

Tag..I'm it. Part Deux

February 12th 2008 5:12 pm

I'm feeling the Catster love... I have been tagged by the handsome Taz. Yup, Snickerdoodle wants to play with me.

The tag game rules:

The rules are somewhat flexible as to what you wish to list, add a dash of silliness, a pinch of cute and a sprinkle of entertainment. Ok so here goes, each player starts with seven random anything about themselves. Cats who are tagged need to write on their own diary about the seven things they want to list and the rules. Then you need to tag seven cats - list their names and leave them a comment that they have been tagged and to read your diary so that they may play along.

And so because it is almost Valentine’s Day for this edition of the tag game I will let my mommy list seven things she loves about me (I know mommy it’s only seven things about me, so yes you’re going to have to try very hard to chose just seven)

Seven things I love about Luke by his mommy:
I love the way he smells, he has a very yummy cookie smell and he always lets me stick my nose in his fur
I love that he knows his name, he often responds by looking at me, meowing or coming to me
I love that he sees me off every morning at the door and when I comes home he is there to greet me
I love it when he caresses my face after I shower, and I think it’s so cute when he plays with my wet hair
I love that he enjoys sleeping in bed with us at night, especially the nights that he snuggle under the covers
I love it when he chooses me as his snuggle buddy on the couch
I love sharing my asparagus & goldfish crackers with him because he is so cute and gentle
And last but not least I love his meow, his purr, his color, his stripes, his fur, his whiskers, his paws, his tail, his ears, his eyes, his button nose, his sleeping positions, his playfulness, his silliness, his cuteness, his curiosity…

Mommy stop, the list is seven!
Sorry furs, gotta cut mommy off, she’s getting carried away because basically she just loves all of me! Can you blame her? MOL

Happy Valentine’s Day!

I have been tagged by the pawsome Spot to play tag! Have you met Spot? He is one handsome kitty who as a million lives!

The flexible rules:
Each player starts with seven random anything about themselves. Cats who are tagged need to write on their own diary about the seven things they want to list and the rules. You need to choose seven cats to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment that they have been tagged and to read your diary.

My seven newly learned or discovered things in the last year:
1. The more siblings you have the better wrestling partners. Shadow is my favorite play furriend.
2. I am no longer picky, I love all leg nooks and will cuddle up into anyone who offers me a nap spot.
3. If you act cute and cuddly when your pawrents leave for work you can sneak out the front door easier, thus having a fun morning escape.
4. I love heights, I wish ladders were permanent in our house.
5. I love cuddling under blankets. I can be found under them in the evening and during the night.
6. Dogs stink... there are endless things to smell on the neighbors deck and I have to stick out my tongue after each investigation.
7. Fresh catnip is pawsome!

Now, who am I going to tag? Well who wants to play? I think every fur who reads my diary should play. Go ahead, put your own twist on the game and make a list of seven anythings.

A cold escape

As many of you furs already know, escaping is a favorite pastime of mine...well this weekend I succeeded in darting past mommy's legs and running down the stairs. However I was caught a little off guard when I discovered there was snow. Mommy laughed as I kept running in the yard avoiding her and how every time I stopped I would clean my paws. I don't why she kept laughed - my paws were cold. I forgot how cold snow can be...

Where's my turkey?

I want to be thankful….so who is having me over for a turkey and who is sending me some turkey by mail?
In Canada we celebrate Thanksgiving in October...however this year no turkey & no stuffing for me. Usually I get a little treat when mommy & daddy come home from dinner at the grandpawrents, but this year due to events it was not celebrated with a feast, so when mommy came home she had nothing for me. My pawrents did celebrate together and shared a Tofurkey. I was offered some, I took a little lick here and there of a few items, but I was not interested in actually eating it. I was looking for turkey. So does anyfur want to invite over this poor left out orange furrball? I pawmise to share the turkey with you.

Another year older but still as cute and mischievous as when I was 2! I did not have to do any tricks but I did get lots of treats. Mommy & daddy gave me lots of cuddles, cheek rubs and kisses. I got to stick my nose in the catnip jar and I even put my paw inside and pulled some catnip out to eat. My furriends remembered my day too (and if not some fur may have reminded them) and gave me lovely rosettes and pmails. Thank you for making this orange furrball feel special.

Have you seen my cool rosette?
It was given to me by one of my fursis’ furriends. He wants to start a new game that involves a mop and ninja moves. I’m sure the mop will be wet because I just love wet clothes and a mop is almost the same right? I wonder how we will play and what the rules are...Oh think maybe Calvin will come and be on my team? Wait are there teams, how many kitties...

*poke & giggle from mommy* Luke, I don’t think Arnold wants to play with you… He wants you to stop pouncing to your sister Sissy and is trying to ask you to be nice to her.

~pondering~Nope, mommy is wrong. Arnold is a boy and boys love to pounce on their sisters… Thanks for the rosette Arnold and the fun new game, I'll be waiting for you to meow to me the instructions on how to play.

This follow the mommy game has got to stop. It is bad enough watching all these black furs following my mommy around, but I refuse to let that squirrel do it and have mommy say it is cute. Today she saw him at the end of the street and said hello to him, and he followed her home and up the stairs. Mommy keeps peanuts in the mailbox and he knows it, so she gave him one and put two on the stairs because she knows he will be back.

You know those pesky intruders follow mommy too. Yup, some evenings when she goes out walking looking for Cooter those furs follow her around the neighborhood. Mommy likes the company, and she thinks it is really cute how they follow her around and whirl around her legs. I would like this follow the mommy game to stop, only I should be allowed to play this...

Fresh is great

Mommy was late coming home... She was late because she went to grandmaw's to visit Moxie and to help grandmaw put some soft paws on her. I don't like when mommy comes home late, and I like it even less when she is late because she is spending time with another fur... She did make it up to us, thanks to grandmaw we got the biggest bunch of fresh catnip! I've read in some of my furriends diaries how much they enjoy fresh catnip, but I did not know how great it really was until I had some. I all walked around the bag sniffing and I bit a leaf that was sticking out. Paste was more daring than me and jumped on the bag and when mommy dropped it he jumped in. Mommy gave us each 2 leaves and we all rolled and drooled together. Paste ate his right away and then stole Copy's. We all went a little kooky: we were all purring and enjoying the fresh catnip. Mommy and daddy watched us play as we rolled and rubbed on our catnip leaves, they giggled at us too. I wonder how embarrassing the pictures will be...

More orange fur

Did you hear? Did you hear my furriend Calvin is coming to Canada to visit me! Oh wow, I'm as happy as a kitten in a catnip store, I can’t stop rolling on my back I’m so excited. Finally more orange fur in this house!

Ok so I will make sure mommy does all the vacuuming before he gets here because he doesn't like them. She will need to get him his own box to sleep in and food bowl. Mommy better get comfy on the couch because my pal Calvin like to knead bellies. And she will have to put all of the toys in the catnip bucket so they are fresh when he gets here and...

*poke & whisper from mommy* Lukie, Calvin is not coming to Canada. His daddy said he couldn't go with him… but Calvin’s fur is coming to Canada.

Oh.

So my orange pal is not coming to Canada...

So only his fur is coming...

Calvin I think you should get in the suitcase rather than lounge on it! This house needs more orange fur in it, even if only temporary...

I had such a nice evening, auntie Tammy & uncle Ross came over. I got lots of cuddles and I even napped in auntie Tammy's nook, it's no daddy nook but it will do when you want a nap. I also sniffed her a whole bunch because she smelled like her cat Jacques. Daddy and uncle Ross then went out and when they came home they had chinese food with them. It smelled very different and I was so curious about what they were eating that I sat by them watching. Mommy gave me some bok choy and I ate it all up. It was so yummy I asked for more and mommy kept giving me some until I was full. Asparagus is still my favorite but I may have found my second favorite veggie.

After dinner I got desert, mommy shared her fortune cookie with me. She got a really great fortune too that said:
You will always have good luck and overcome many hardships

I then curled up on uncle Ross' leg, there was no nook but I did use him as my purrsonal leaning post.

Bug play

What a fun morning! I was playing with another centipede. Mommy woke up and saw Sissy & me each taking turns swatting that little bug by the bedroom entrance. Then he tried to hide so he went behind the door, Sissy went after him but came back out sans bug. I knew it was my turn, after all I am the bug hunter. I meowed at him while behind the door but he was not in the mood to negotiate. So I backed up and went back to my spot to wait for him.
A few minutes later he came out, but he was tired and didn't want to be chased. Well I still wanted to play so I let him go to sleep and I started to play. I was running up & down the hall and into the bathroom swatting him. I swatting him back out and back down the hall and all around the house. Mommy later asked me where my bug was but I didn't want to tell her where he was hiding. A kitty has to have a secret sometimes.

My brave escape

September 6th 2007 8:06 pm

Every few days I plan an escape, whether it is running thru legs, leaping over mommy’s head as she sits to feeds the cats outside, running under the gap at the front door, trying to sneak out a window or opening the screen door myself. Tonight it was secretly opening the screen door myself. I do it so quietly that mommy & daddy who are on the couch just feet away don’t hear me. However tonight my escape was caught quite early, as I on the grate ready to walk down the stairs mommy got up for a glass of water and spotted me. She ran after me, like usual, and I ran faster. I was so quick I did not notice the doggies were out and in the yard. I made my escape, narrowly sliding under the gate with my tail intact. That Baloo sure is quick for a 13 year old. Mommy ran to the door and slid out only to see me standing right by the opening standing brave with my tail 5 times it’s size and all my hair standing up. You see I was ready to bop him on the nose if he stuck it thru the hole under the gate. Instead mommy scooped me up and hugged me tight. Then we slipped back thru the door and up the stairs. The dogs were already back on the deck and no longer cared about me. Geez at least bark at me again and make me feel like a steak...

Labour Day Weekend

I thought this weekend was about relaxing, but mommy & daddy took it literally and worked all weekend. The were sanding and painting the front deck railings. Mommy took my leash and harness from the back deck and brought it to the front so I could hang out with them. I watched them work; I investigate mommy's sanding and tried to do the same with daddy's painting but he would not let me get close and put me back on the other side of the deck. He mumbled something about not wanting another black cat... I did a lot of napping too, and it was very comfortable under the plants. The best part of the weekend was watching Mr. Squirrel come up and down our stairs. If he sees mommy he comes for a visit because he knows she keeps peanuts in the mailbox for him. We'll after watching him for a little while taking all of mommy's attention I chased him away. That was lots of fun. I can't wait until next weekend to do that again.

The bed is getting crowded

August 22nd 2007 8:59 pm

I remember when it was just mommy, daddy and me on the bed. Ah the good ol' days when attention and love was always directed towards me. And the choices: were to nap, who to nap on, who to nap next to... I tolerated Shadow's arrival on the bed quite well. I let her sleep at the foot of the bed, sometimes near me even. But this Moxie girl, her invasion of my space I do not agree with. I protest almost every night with a hiss and growl. Mommy and daddy never kick her out of bed, instead they just pick me up to cuddle me next to their body.

Well last night the bed got even more crowded. Mommy was changing the bed sheets, and I of course was helping her out. After the bed was made I was playing under the top sheet, mommy played with me some by making fun wrinkles with the sheet. After playing for a while she left me there and I curled up to take a nap. Cooter who was interested in all of this was watching us. Well after mommy left the room Cooter hoped up on the bed and took a nap next to me. When it was bed time mommy came into the room to see a sight she has never seen; Cooter sleeping on the bed. She immediately started taking pictures to capture this moment. It did not bother me because I was still under the sheet sleeping. Mommy thought Cooter and I were too adorable to bother so she put her pillow at the foot of the bed and went to sleep. Daddy came in to go to bed a little later later and saw mommy curled up with Shadow, Cooter sprawled out in the middle of the bed, and a lump (that was me under the sheet). He decided to sleep at te head of the bed and leave us all in the positions we were in.

What ruined out comfort was that Moxie was now in front of mommy by the edge of the bed and Shadow was behind her, but then she decided to sleep between us boys and when she moved she flung her tail into Cooter's face who did not like that. He hissed and ran away, this frightened me so I ran after him. Mommy and daddy then moved into their normal sleep positions and each had a furry girl stay to nap by their feet. I came back later and slept under the cover against mommy as she cuddled me. I think I had the best nap spot...

I just woke up from a lovely nap to see my pawrents staring at me. It was scary to wake up to two silly human faces just inches away from you staring at you. Apparently I nap really cute and they wanted to have a better look at me. I was flaring my nose, twitching my whiskers and wiggling my chin they say... I don't beleive that, but I do beleive I look cute when I nap.

This evening mommy was giving me lots of hugs & snuggles, she was rubbing me all over and I was loving it! Of course this meant I was shedding as well...but who can blame we with this weather. So mom gets up from the couch and dad looks at her and says 'hairy chest' and walks away. Mom stood there puzzled and then thought daddy was just being silly and trying out new nicknames for her again (don't ask, my pawrents are weird) but then she looked at her shirt and realized I was all over her dark shirt...she burst out giggling.

Kneading catnip

There is nothing better than snuggling with mommy... unless it is snuggling with mommy while having some catnip! I love when mommy slouches on the couch because I get to walk on her and knead her belly while getting pets and love. The best part about last night's snuggle session was that the catnip jar was on the couch, so mommy opened it and let me sniff. Oh so yummy fresh catnip! Then I stuck my paw in the jar and pulled some out! MOL it was great; mommy's belly as full of catnip! Mommy giggled, she forgot there was no mouse in the jar which usually prevents me from doing what I just did. But she didnt mind and she let me lick it and I continued to knead her belly. I had lots of fun until daddy got jealous and took me off mommy saying I was going to get too loopy.

Evenings are just the best when you get love and catnip...

Last night was lots of fun... mommy let me sneak downstairs into the neighbors yard to run in the grass because they were not home! I sniffed around a bunch and it does smell funny there now... Mom feels bad because I can only be harnessed to our own deck now, our old neighbors let me have my own leash on their deck so I would often hang out down there lounging in the grass and enjoying myself. The best part of the evening besides eating the grass was eating a moth. I chased it and batted it around until I got bored and finally ate it!

It's the end of the world as we know it...

New neighbors.
New neighbors moving in downstairs.
New neighbors moving in downstairs have 2 dogs.

Mommy sadly informed me of it today because the old neighbors were replaced with new neighbors... I'm sad and depressed because I love my lawn and have now lost all grass priviledges. No more lounging in the grass, no more playing with bugs, no more making mommy chase me, no more freedom...

Note from mommy: I hope this works out, but until I get to know them and these dogs I AM TERRIFIED for all my cats safety. I only quickly met them and one of the dogs is an Australian Cattle Dog and we were told he will bark and probably chase any cat. I only home he is playful and gentle because my cats safety and the safety of my strays mean everything to me.

Beachball?

Why do we now have beach ball rosettes? Aren't beach balls a dog toy? Don't you play with a beach ball at the beach or by a pool? What cat would voluntarily go to the beach or near a pool and be that close to water? Ok maybe one cat would but he must have been high on the 'nip.

The saddest part about this new rosette is that they took away the butterfly, that meowvelous orange butterfly...

Can you beleive what excitement that cutie with the green eyes Kazumi Joy has started? She is the reason we are all MOL-ing here on Catster, she is our Queen Tagger. We love reading all of our furriends fun facts, this sure is fun.

I am adding another fact about me:
I love to bite daddy's knees or calves when he is dripping wet from coming out of the shower.

I have been tagged! That is right I have been tagged by Kazumi to participate in her meme.

The rules:
Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Cats who are tagged need to write on their own diary about the seven things and the rules. You need to choose seven cats to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment that they have been tagged and to read your diary.

My seven random facts:
1. I am the only orange kitty in the family, and also the only tabby.
2. I always greet mommy when she comes home, but not always daddy.
3. I love mommy's wet hair. It is great to nuzzle into and bite.
4. I love to chew grass, and I have yet to throw up from eating it.
5. I have, on more than one occasion, left mommy's warn lap to run and nap in daddy's nook.
6. I love asparagus, I will it any way it is cooked.
7. I am always the first one to use the fresh cleaned litter box.

I tag the following cats on Catster:
Dave
Sparkman
Luna
Tumbleweed
Samantha
Calvin
Gordy

Editors note:
I have also been tagged by my pal in nakedness, thanks pal.

MOL Paste is getting a taste of my world! He was harnessed this evening as he has not been nor will he be allowed out free to roam for now. Poor little fella, he kept walking backwards thinking he could get out of it, but mom was smart and put the figure 8 style on him so there was no way he could slip his little body out of it. I dare say he may hate being harnessed more than me...

Well I hit the stone named Mile and I hopped over him this morning... I would like to thank my sweet furriend Scooter for being viewer # 2499 & 2501 to my page. She was just as excited as I was to hit this little stone that she kept me updated daily as to my viewer count. How sweet is that? She always makes me blush to the tips of my whiskers!
And I have to thank Sparkle for her MOL pmail which must have made her my #2500 viewer to my page. Does any fur want to contest that? So thank you you tabby cutie you!

Does receiving 2500 views on your Catster page make you a worthy recipient of many treats? I mean it is no milestone like Scooter's 20000+ views but she is a furry loved kitty. I wonder if I could convince mommy that it is an event to recognize and that she must give me plenty of treats. Humm, I will try that...

Now to the kitty who is, or is close to 2500 views on my page, would you please pmail me? I’ll share my treats with you...

Today was much more of a leisure day as mommy & daddy relaxed on some of their painting duties to celebrate daddy's birthday. I spend lots of time with daddy; I hung out with him on the ladder, watched him clean out the paint rollers and napped with him on the couch. I think he really liked my company. Happy Birthday daddy from me and my evil twin.

Sometimes an orange furrball just needs to be loved and snuggled all day long by his mommy, and today was that day. Mommy and daddy have the week off work to paint the house and I took full advantage of this. I spent most of my day following mommy around , I would sit by her as she painted, if she walked away I was right there with her, when she was relaxing on the floor I laid down on her chest for scratches and kisses. I hung out on the counter while she did the dishes, and while she and daddy make dinner. And in the evening I snuggled with her on the couch, I also kneaded her belly then I curled up on her and took a nap. I had a great day...and mommy did too.

Happy Earth Day

I wanted to wish every fur a Happy Warm Spring Earth Day!

The weather here was wonderful, we had the patio door & windows open all day. I sat by all of them looking out at the world. I was also out on the front porch with mommy enjoying the sun, and of course I was out on the back deck (unfortunately on my harness that time). I really wanted to roam on the grass downstairs but mommy would not let me because it's still brown and muddy. Hope summer arrives soon, I want to take full advantage of the yard before the new neighbors show up, hiss.

Little Tigger attack

Daddy is in shock. Mommy is in shock. I attacked daddy. No this is not typical behavior, it's the first of its kind..let me explain. You see there were many furs on the deck this morning, they were all lounging about comfortably and Toby (my nemesis) was up against the door. So as mommy sat on the floor to open the patio door to give them all some food, I did my usual grunt and hiss at him. Well daddy came and picked me up from behind, and in one swift move I turned myself around, boxed him in the face and bit his cheek. Daddy was freaked at my manners.
After mommy gave some food to the cats she checked on daddy. My bite was also a scratch and it was starting to bleed a little. She also checked his arms as I had scratched him with my back paws. Poor daddy, I felt bad, a little. They do not understand why I dislike him so much, out of all the cats that have visited, they do not understand why I completely loath him. They do not understand why he is the only one that makes me attack the patio door. They do not understand why I grunt, grumble and hiss at him. They do not understand why I always puff up my tail like a raccoon and allow the hair on my back and spine to spike up. They do not understand

I have made a new discovery - ladders. What a great invention! I have even learned to climb up and down all by myself. It has been around the house for two days and just love it. It keeps changing locations, but each time it changes places I climb up to investigate. Mommy thinks it is so cute and has taken pictures of me. I have even been supervising daddy working. I think he appreciates me being there. Well I think I will go climb it one more time tonight before daddy puts it away...

Cookie Monster

Mommy has a new nickname for me lately...she calls me Cookie Monster. She has been shoving her face into my side and taking big sniffs...apparently I smell like a cookie to her and she loves it. She says I have for a long time but this winter it went away and now it has come back and she is very happy. Daddy even says I smell good, but at least he isn't as intrusive as mommy is with the sniffing.

Have I also told all you kitties that my mommy is losing her mind? She is! Today I sat on the counter watching her do dishes, the reason I do this is because after she is done she rubs my head with her wet hands and I love it. So after she was done and was rubbing my head and cheeks, to which I was loving, she asked daddy a silly question...a furry silly question. She asked him what he thought my reaction would be if she groomed me. He rolled his eyes and I tilted my head in confusion. I mean come on mommy, you're no cat!

Balloons for mommy

I saw daddy looking thru boxes for balloons today... he only does this when it is mommy's birthday; I guess that explains why he was spoiling her all weekend. Mommy doesn't seem too happy about this one, she says it means she no longer has an excuse for being silly and others think she should probably grow up. Mommy says 'fat chance' of that happening! She is a kid at heart (and looks it too) and her silliness will continue for a real long while. I like that my pawrents don't plan on growing up any time soon... I mean who else will run around the house with me?

All week I have been sweet ol' Lukalicious! I am there to say bye to mommy in the morning and I am by the door to greet her when she comes home. I meow hi to daddy but I really am there for mommy. She has been extra bundled up these days and I get impatient waiting for my snuggles, so I reach up and hurry her along to take off her coat. So because I have made mommy feel so special I have chosen her to be my Valentine. I think it is a good choice.

I would like to mention that I do have a soft spot for two lovely kitties: sweet Scooter and cutie Kazumi who always know how to make this orange furrball feel special.

On another note, the mice inside Catster headquaters seems to have become mischievious and have chewed thru some wire thus messing up my account: I have lost all my rosettes. I only started giving them out and then things went weird, rosettes went missing on some furriends pages and then the rest disappeared.

I hope efurrykitty has a wonderful Valentine's Day and that you were all spoiled with treats and catnip.

It's been very crowded here lately... The house is full of black cats! I like my black furrball brother Cooter, and I guess my fursis Sissy is fine...but those others I could do without. You see mommy has allowed those 3 intruders into the house. I was very stressed the first few days but now I am better, not that I like them now, I'm just getting used to them. Mommy and daddy make sure to make me feel very special and give me lots of attention but I still don't like sharing my space with these three. The girl meows and tries to sleep near me, and she likes to stare at daddy. She also thinks she can sleep with us at night, I don't understand how daddy could allow this, atfer her first night she discovered the bedroom and has decided to join us, she cuddles by daddy's belly. And those brothers wander too much, they have made themselves too comfortable and they follow mommy around. This weekend when mommy was sleeping in late, one of them had the nerve to hop up onto the bed and cuddle with mommy, I'm supposed to be mommy's late morning cuddler! I sure they find their way home soon, or mommy finds them a forever home of their own.

Side note from Luke's Mommy:
The 3 'intruders' Luke is refering to are Shadow, Copy & Paste. They have taken refuge on our deck; Shadow has one box while the boys share the other. It started to get cold and I just could not let them stay outside in such cold weather. It started out that were allowed in for a few hours after we would come home from work, and then the nights fell to -20C (-4F) and they spend the night in the bathroom. Last week we hit a cold snap where the day and nights were -33C (-27F) and they were spending all their time inside. Shadow was allowed to roam about as she is extremely calm and the boys were locked in the bathroom when we were not home and at night. None has asked to go out until this weekend when temperatures finally became reasonable again at -10C (13F).

According to a web site we stopped by it said: On January 21st 1986 National Hugging Day was founded in the U.S.A. It has spread all over the world and is called by many names - Hug Day, World Hug Day, Send a Hug Day, International Hug Day, and even Hug a Bear Day!
What a great idea, I love getting hugs from my pawrents, and now there is a day dedicated to hugs!

Well mommy did it! I finally have a slideshow, and what is my very first slideshow about you ask...it's about those intruders! All the neighborhood kitties who come and hang out on MY deck!

Well since they are there I guess I have to give you some info... Pickles, who's real name is Tiger, has been coming around for two summers. He loves mommy, she cuddles him and pets him lots. His sister Marshmallow, who's real name is Sissy, has two different colored eyes and the shortest tail we've ever seen. She's very vocal and learns how to get mommy's attention by imitating Cooter's 'nail in the screen' trick. Their sister Houdini, who mom used to call Shitaki is a silly kitty; she is friendly one second then shy the next. She also loves to talk when mommy is feeding them. Their baby brother Yo-Yo, who mom used to call Olive is not pictured in this slideshow, he's too shy and mommy hasn't been able to snap a focused picture of him, but he's a long haired black kitty if you were interested.

Sammie is an itty bitty playful little guy, he's full of beans. He hung around alot during the summer when I was lounging in the grass, we played together often chasing one another. Big Boy is a beat up looking fella, he's very skittish and only this week has finally stopped running when mommy opens the door and fills the bowl with food for him. He is the only one we are not sure has a real home. Toby is a big gentle giant. He has a real sweet face according to mom and he sniffed mommy's hand the first time he came onto our deck. She'd love to pick him up and squeeze him she says. Tee is a curious little girl who can't stand still, ever. She follows you around if your outside and barges right in if you open the door. Shadow is the only kitty who only shows up n the front. So she has her own little food dish. Sometimes she follows mommy up the stairs when she comes home, she sits there and meows. She won't let mommy et her but she has sniffed her hand a few times. She has cute white spots of fur on her belly that mommy is dying to rub.

The twins are the newest addition to the intruders clan. They are very sweet and friendly. Copy has been hanging around all week. Mommy says he is a younger Cooter, just as cute and sweet but cuddlier. He also lets mommy rub his belly. He purrs like crazy when mommy pets him or hugs him.

Well now you know my intruders...

And once again thank you to Scooter and her mommy for helping us with the RockYou slideshow.

First week of the new year goes by...

And what a fun week it has been!
I have tried some new foods and have quite enjoyed them. I have eaten some shortbread cookies, sweet potato wedges, tomato soup, pie crust and asparagus cooked indoors is just as good as on the BBQ.
As for naps I have discovered that mommy's nook is just as comfy as daddy's. I have also started sleeping on the kitchen counter (especially when the dishwasher is running as the counter gets nice and warm). A great location for a nap is on top or between fresh clean smelling laundry, plus you end up all downy fresh smelling too. Another new nap spot is on a spare chair, Cooter has also discovered this chair and sleeps under it. Oh and mommy caught me sleeping on her and daddy's shoes.
I have sniffed noses with a few new kitties too. A kitty mommy named Shadow, who only appears in the front for the past two months, was finally brave enough to let me sniff her. Cooter & I are fascinated with her meows, she is quite the talker. I also met two new cats today from the neighbor who moved in last month. They are identical so mommy has named them Copy & Paste (or you can call them 'the twins' also). Mommy mentionned posting pictures or all the neighbors cats who visit for those who might be interested in seeing them, I don't agree with mommy on this but she is the one with full access to the 'puter.
So that has been my fun this first week of the new year...

I truly have some of the greatest furriends ever!

For my birthday my sweet friend Scooter made me a lovely tunnel bed. Humm, well I guess her mommy made it but she did test it out first. I do have to share it with Cooter but it is still officially mine. And for Chritsmas I received some wonderfull catnip and feather toys handmade by Nemo's staff Susie. There were four little toy mice and I have been sharing with Cooter & Sissy. I just wanted to thank you again for being so sweet to me!

And lets not forget all my other furriends who leave me treats, rosettes and send me pmail. I truly adore you all and cherish our friendship. Thank you for making me a very happy orange furrball.

This time of season is so much fun... we have a tree in the house, there are ornaments to swat at, boxes & wrapping & ribbons to play with, and lots of catnip! I'm still waiting for that big snow storm to roll in, I like hoping in the snow, plus you can't have Christmas in Montreal without snow. And then I got a message from Gordy with a rosette: Want to play??? *SPLAT!* Yup it happened, SPLAT, I was hit in the face with a snowball… my very first one. Thanks Gordy for including me in yours & Dutchie's OFFICIAL SNOWBALL FIGHT GAME! ! Now I have to wait for some snow here to stay on the ground for me to play.

The tree is finally all decorated! It only took mommy 3 days... I watched her every evening as she likes to add the ornaments only in the evening with the lights on. Mommy just loves Christmas and has lots of fun unwrapping and decorating. I got to investigate all the boxes, I even napped on some of the ornaments. I have been a good boy, I haven't knocked any ornament off the tree... yet. Mommy put my basket by the tree and she hung up a stocking for me (actually it's for all 3 of us kitties but I haven't shared that information with them yet). I'm sure I will nap in there soon and mommy will take my picture to share with all of you.

To mommy today is St.Nicholas Day. It is a Hungarian celebration day (however similarily celebrated by other European countries too) as the day where children shine their shoes or boots and put them outside or by the window. If they are good Mikulas will leave candies and fruit, and if they are bad he leaves twigs. Mommy said that since none of us kitties have boots or shoes we could still participate, so we got some salmon with diner this evening. Yumm.
We have our own traditions in north america...I wonder if my stocking will be filled with goodies on Christmas day... Santa Claws won't forget about me I hope.

Stop by his page and say meow, and if you have time read some of his past diary entries, his staff Susie helps him out. He even walks on a leash, you can read it in It was close!. Nemo and I also have a fellow toy friend in common, you can see our pictures and meet Moka & Mocha

Also a big catgrats to my buddy Charlie who is one of today's Diary of the Day picks. He recently gained a furry brother named Gus who of course is orange (& white). Also remember he has a funny blog you can read.

The Tail of the Disappearing Catnip Mice

December 3rd 2006 10:47 am

As most of you may already know, mommy likes to feed the cats in the neighborhood. She even likes to pet and cuddle those that aren't shy. Well mommy sometimes shares MY toys with them. Ok so she doesn't give them MY toys really, she gets extra ones and gives those. Well last night mommy gave an orange catnip mouse to Tee the tortie, then Pickles showed up so she gave him one too. Then she spotted a pink mouse on the deck... humm I think he's been out here a month or two now. Toby came by too so she threw a yellow mouse at him; he however had no interest in playing, just eating. So Marshmallow started playing. I watched them play for a while then went for a nap. Later on daddy saw Yo-Yo playing with one of the orange ones, but when he was spotted he ran off with it in his mouth and ran down the stairs. A while after that mommy saw the orange mouse on the deck again, but no cat was around. When it was bed time, the mouse was missing again... So today mommy went out on the deck and looked around, she even went downstairs...no mouse was found. All the catnip mice have disappeared. I wonder if this mystery will be solved.

I was watching mommy put away some clean laundry this afternoon, (I must investigate all you know) and so I was on the dresser watching her fold and put away shirts and socks, and then she put away her pj's and opened the drawer under me. I took this as an invitation and climbed on her fresh cloths and got comfy. I then decided that since I was on clean cloths I would take a bath. She watched me, and so did Sissy. Then daddy came in and said I was silly and left again. After my bath I took a nap. Sundays are fun when you can be lazy...

Poor mommy was not well yesterday evening. She was huddled up against her white kitty bowl; she must have eaten a bad mouse or something. I jumped up on the back tank and watched her making sure she was ok or if she needed anything. If she left the room I followed, I followed her everywhere she went. She often ended back at her kitty bowl. And when she would curl up in the corner of the room I would hop up on her lap and snuggle her. I did not leave her all night. She truly enjoyed me taking care of her. I even slept by her feet all night. I did crawl up on her chest at one point during the night for a quick snuggle, then back to her feet I went.
Today mommy felt much better. Must have been my healing paw... or morning nuzzling. You see this morning I woke mommy up with my my nose, I just love to stick it in her neck. She loves waking up to that!

Living a catnip filled week

I'm a catnip addict and I just don't care who knows it!

This birthday thing is really great! I have been playing with lots of catnip this past week and I can't seem to get enough of it. I have a wonderful new homemade catnip pillow (purrs to Bonnie) that just makes me all silly! Mommy says she had to take it away from me because I was getting too loopy and hid it from me. She put it high up in a kitchen cupboard... She won't admit it's there but I know it is. I keep crying and reaching for it but it is much too high for this furrball. But I know she will give in this evening and I will get to lick and chew my catnip pillow tonight...

I would also like to thank cute little mischievous Gordy for giving me a star and my first turkey rosette!

And thank you to Catster's reporter Bogdan for sending me a pmail birthday wish. I hear his printing press troubles may soon be over, that is good news for us loyal fans who like reading The Morning Scratch.

I think I'm going to try reaching for my pillow now...

Comical Calvin for a bright star, a fun birthday song sent in a pmail and for mentioning me in your diary. That's triple the fun!

My buddy Charlie for giving me a precious star and a rosette. That is (and he is) too cool.

Charming Rufus for my rosette. It's a great day for him too, congratulations for being cat of the day!

Silly Sebastian for my rosette and the diary mention. Thanks for noticing we weren't official friends and changing that.

Beaming Boogers for a pumpkin rosette. Oh and mommy says you are so cute mommy could eat you (don't worry she won't actually eat you, this just means lots of cuddle squeezes)

Cutie Kazumi Joy for a rosette, she always sneeks in for a hello to make me smile.

To Jason Hopper for the birthday pmail

And to Pebbles and her family for a rosette, this was a lovely suprise!

Thank you to my BOCU, Monkey Business & Canadian Kitties group members for thinking of me too!

The best thing is that the day is not over so this orange furrball is off to play!

An Orange Celebration

Today is my 2nd birthday! (or at least the day we celebrate my birthday) Mommy chose this day for two reasons: the first is because when I was taken to the vet the first time the Dr. said I was around 10-12 months old, and the second reason is that her first and orange cat growing up was a Christmas kitty so she thought it would be cute if I too had a holiday birthday. So far it has been a great week. I have been cuddled and hugged a million times, all the catnip I want or almost, fun playtime and roaming outside time. I hear something special is in the mail for me, oh I cannot wait!

How lucky am I! I received a star from my favorite gal, I'm talking about Scooter! Oh how great, I think I'm on cloud nine!

As you can see my Halloween costume is finally finished. Mommy made it herself. She says I'm adorable, a real Mummy's Boy . What a silly lady my mommy is...

Lucky star!

I received my very first star! It was given to me by my buddy Rufus. Rufus and I have something in common; we both have embarrassing mommies who like to dress us up. We would both prefer to remain naked... oh well at least we'll be down in the muck together!

Now if only I can convince mommy to get me some Zealies so I can give stars away... I think I will start now by rubbing on her and purring.

Mommy, meow, purr, can you get me some Zealies? purr... yes mommy I know it's not a popularity contest...purr... but I used up the 2 free ones we got... no I did not share with Sissy or Cooter... you'll buy me 40, what that makes only eight stars, better than none I guess... what I have to share this time... ok fine...purr

This orange furrball has nothing but sweet thoughts on his mind. There are two lovely (blush) girl kitties who are sharing a birthday today. I'm purring up a storm over here and there isn't even any catnip around.

Please stop by the one and adorable Scooter's page today and wish her a wonderful 18th Birthday. Send her some sweet messages, leave her some treats and if you have some to spare give her a rosette too!

The other furball who's birthday is today is Kazumi Joy, so stop by and wish her a great 5th Birthday...don't forget to leave some goodies.

What will be next?

Have you noticed the new option on Catster today? We now have colored Rosettes to give out. We still have blue, but now there are pink, red or white Rosettes too. But where is purple for Scooter? And Orange for me? Well at least this option is so much less stressful that the Zealies one, I mean only two free stars and if you want more you have to pay, and catnip is not a form of payment, hiss!

I have this really great napping spot that I absolutely love and get very excited about when I see it available. It is the nook behind daddy's knees as he lounges on the couch. I curl up really close to him and settle in for quite a while. Sometimes I even lean my chin on his foot. Mommy thinks it is adorable when I trot over all excited and curl up with him. My daddy is a great nook provider.

This long weekend kept mommy and daddy busy, and away from me. They went up to the cottage with grandma & grandpa to close up for winter. I was abandoned since noon Sunday until this evening after they returned from Thanksgiving dinner at mommy's mommy house. I was sure happy to see mommy and daddy walk thru the door. After lots of loving we got spoiled and had some Merrick's Thanksgiving Day dinner and frozen raw turkey. Then we logged onto Catster and things look different... I have so much catching up to do... so off I go... oh, and Happy Thanksgiving to all the Canadian kitties on Catster.

A Year in Review

Today is my official one year anniversary living here. My life living with them is quite the tail (MOL, ok I mean tale). Mommy knew she wanted me when she found out the neighbor moved out and left me behind. It took mommy three weeks to convince daddy that taking me in was the right thing to do, and then just exclaimed that she was taking me in and that was that. She loved me all summer long and could not bear the thought of something happening to me. So she let me in and I finally got to sleep inside their home. Little did I know that the next morning I would be put in a carrier and whisked off to the vet's to get my shots, checked out and fixed (please note that I was not broken, I just got my pompoms deflated). I stayed a few nights in quarantine and while I was there mommy called twice a day to see how I was. Mommy was relived to hear that I was totally healthy, all my results came back good. Oh and I never mentioned this before, but I have a bump on my tummy, and the doctor said it's a badly healed hernia that should not affect me health wise. With all this great news she came to pick me up and I became a part of their family with a furrever home. And so today is my one year anniversary from the day she brought me home from the vet's.

Last night I went to Monkey's End of Summer BBQ Bash. I brought my little monkey friend Moka, as well as Cooter who tagged along. What a great night! It was a great pawrtee, and he is such a great host! There was great food. treats and drinks, and lets not forget the decorations! Did I also mention the roller coaster? That is right, we even had carnival rides at his pawrtee! The rides were so awesome, I think I took my turn on them all! All the kitties were great, very friendly and delightful!

It was great to see some familiar faces at his pawrtee, as well as some new ones. Looking forward to the next one Monk!

Do all of you know my friend Charlie? He's quite the cat here and he has his own blog which is quite entertaining. I do hope everyone stops by his page and his blog.

A while back Charlie was one of the picks for diary of the day and wrote in his diary that he would like to be President of the World. I thought that would be so much fun so I told him how I would like to be his campaign manager. But I am all alone and a young puss trying to get the word out on Charlie... so this is taking time. Hold on to your catnip mice for some upcoming news and details.

Help...I could use with some help... I think we need some celebrity endorsers... All presidents' know celebrities right? But who to contact? who to ask? who will lend some support?
I will have to inquire with everyone's favorite gal Scooter and our favorite party feline Monkey (Blue). Think they might help support Charlie in his election? I should get in touch with Cole as he is interested in being his agent. Maybe get some news out on Charlie, I should contact Catster's reporter Bogdan to see if The Morning Scratch would write an editorial about him.

Until then, this young puss is in search of more celebrities...

Silly moms and their nicknames

Have I told you all about my new nickname? Since our little vacation together a month ago mommy has been calling me Lukalicious every time I do something adorable. You see mommy is a silly lady (I know this to be true because I often see daddy giggling at her then telling her she is silly) and because she loves us furrballs she enjoys calling us silly names. Siilly girl with silly names...I guess it works. So when I do something adorable mommy always says: Oh Luke you are so cute I could just eat you up! Well this sentence is a little long, and she was/is saying it so often that she shortened it and thus this is how I got my nickname. Funny how you can look so cute that that your mommy would want to eat you, I didn't know kitties could look delicious... At first I was a little afraid that she might actually eat me, but then I remembered; mommy's a vegetarian. So now I'm not worried...

Today seemed like any other morning; I got some morning loving, was fed some yummy food and demanded to be let outside. But then mommy logged onto Catster, and what do we see…are our eyes deceiving us, is that really me on the main page of Catster? It is! I rubbed my eyes with my paw just in case, but I was still there. This is such an honor!
So if you are first pick for diary of the day do you get a statue, a medal, or a trophy?

As mommy had said, she did decide to make those intruders some nice fleece pillows. She bought some material and spend part of the afternoon sowing, she sat on the living room floor sowing by hand since she doesn't have the machine kind. To express my unhappiness for her kindness towards them, I attacked her thread. But then it was fun, so I kept doing it for my enjoyment. After mommy paused to give me some loving, I went to take a nap on the couch with daddy.
Later mommy went out to give them their present and discovered something upsetting about Marshmallow: she enjoys getting her belly rubbed, and when she is very happy she gentle bites. Ok fine, so it's only upsetting for me, but mommy is being all sweet to these kitties and making them purr, so as you can imagine why this is unsettling to me. I guess I just don't like sharing my mommy.

Today is a great day for this orange furrball, not only is it Saturday and I get to lounge around with mommy and daddy but Catster has chosen my diary again today. Weird that I am #4 out of 5 again, would have been nice if I were higher up on the list. My fursis was chosen last Saturday, but my furbrother has not been chosen yet, we hope he will get his turn in the spotlight real soon. This feeling is as good as rolling in catnip! Oh catnip...

Luke VS the Raccoons

September 15th 2006 7:37 pm

We have had some excitement this evening! All of a sudden mommy and daddy came out on the deck after they heard me upset and saw me harassing two raccoons, I scared one into the corner and the other on the railing. I was swatting and hissing! That is right, hissing, not huffing and breathing funny but real hissing! Daddy picked me up and put me in mommy's arms. He then picked up a chair and swung it and then banged it down to frighten them out & off of my deck. One was smart and ran down the staircase, but the other climbed up to the neighbors deck. Mommy put me inside while they waited quietly outside, but he didn't come down. I was pacing inside by the patio door. Then the one that ran down, came back up. Daddy scared him back down the stairs and followed, the raccoon ran past Cooter who was just lying on the stairs. He was unfazed, he didn't even get up. What kind of protection is that? Well daddy picked him up and brought him upstairs after the raccoon ran under the fence. He was put inside with me.
After a while I think they got bored because they came inside. Cooter and I wrestled a bit then he sat with mommy for rubs. I was back at the patio door on watch duty. They I started hissing again, the raccoon came down and was back on my deck. Well mommy sprung into action and chased that raccoons down the stairs making funny loud noises. Well he ran under the deck, so she just came back up and hugged me and told me she was proud of me for being such a good protector. Must be the red in me, I remind mommy of a little tiger.

A side note from Luke's human mommy:
These two raccoons are extremely sweet, they are just curious teenagers. I saw them a few days ago and Sammie the kitten was hissing at both of them and they were very frightened. The neighor's cats Pickles and Marshmallow don't even seem fazed by them, Marshmallow practically slept thru the whole commotion. But like any mommy you worry and don't take chances, so I would prefer that they not 'hang' out on our deck, even if they are adorable!

I prefer being naked

As the season begins to change and autumn approaches, the next holiday is Halloween. My mommy is looking forward to this holiday for two reasons, the first is that she has chosen Halloween as my birthdate, and the second she is looking forward to making me wear a costume. It's humiliating! I know! And then I read Rufus' entry about the same thing. So I emailed him and told him we should probably start a support group, you know for cats who are embarrassed by their mommies...

Evening time

It has been slightly raining all afternoon and mommy says it's not nice weather to go out to play. I disagree. So to prove her wrong I dashed past her when she opened the patio door and ran down the staircase. She put on her etnies and slowly followed. I darted from one corner to the next, I zipped past mommy and hid behind the trull-us. She always giggles when I act like a pinball. So there I went again; zip passed her to the other corner, back to hiding behind the trull-us. It was a good 10 minutes of playing chase, but then she caught me and carried me upstairs like a baby. Then the dreaded thing happened again, she made daddy help her clean my paws in the sink ! I liked them all muddy, I even brought in a slug. Daddy put him outside. And them mommy had to change as I got mud and water on her shirt.

I guess I should also update some of you on those darn cats that seem to live on my deck. Well both Pickles and Marshmallow have gained a little bit of weight, I mean after all mommy is feeding them twice a day. Shiitake is still shy, but she lets mommy pet her. Oh and Sammy the kitten comes by to eat in the mornings now, mommy wishes he wasnt outside so much. This evening mommy was in ahh staring out at Pickles and Marshmallow being cute as they snuggled together on a fleece blanket. I think I heard mommy talking about buying more fleece to make some comfy cushions and blankets for them... I don't know if I like sharing mommy time, so right now I will go and lay on her belly and remind her that I am cuter.

This evening I was watching that orange furrball on my deck, he was playing with a toy mouse mommy gave him. He seemed to really enjoy that mouse. I meowed at the door and mommy let me run out, I chased him and pounced on him. Mommy was watching, she didn't stop me because I was playing, usually I'm more attacking, I have to remind him who's house this is after all.
Then I ran back into the house, I saw mommy picking up the shoelace, I ran to chase it. Mommy kept saying how cute and silly I was during my play session, and that got me thinking about my orange friend Calvin who is always entertaining. Yesterday was Cute Calvin Day by the way, he got caught snuggling in the sun with his brother Violet, I wish Cooter and I would do that, but we only wrestle and chase each other. Mommy and I then went to look at his whole photo album again and we always paws on the picture of him break dancing, he is just so cute, umm I mean cool... I wonder if he could teach me how to dance... He has a stroller, maybe his mommy can walk by our house, oh wait mommy just told me he lives far... ok so then how much is a plane ticket?

Breaking the habit

The past few days I have had no interest in eating breakfast, all I want is to go outside. I sit by the patio door and cry. I haven't even been doing my usual routine of jumping up on the counter and watching mommy divide our food. I just sit by the patio door and cry. Mommy picks me up and put me in front of my bowl, but I go right back to the door. So of course she has no choice but to let me out. I usually get a good run down the stairs onto the grass. Mommy follows me and watches me for a while and then ties me up. I get to play and relax outside which is all I want! However I am really sad when she takes me back inside.

Mommy has been doing something new this week too, she is trying new food with us. She wants to give us variety or something, so she gave us some frozen raw turkey the past two nights. I took a few nibbles, but did not have much interest. Although tonight she gave us some frozen raw bison and I ate all of mine, as well as Cooter's. Hope I get more tomorrow, no more of that turkey stuff for me.

Biting ankles

If you do something once, is it fair to be labelled? Mommy came out of the shower and she let me bite and play in her wet hair, but when she stood up to walk away from me I wrapped my paws around her ankle and stated bitting her leg. She made a funny noise, stopped and looked down at me so I licked her, and then I bit her again. She wasn't mad at me, I mean how could she with my adorable face, however now she is wondering if my silliness will continue.

Missing mommy

Today was a sad day...mommy returned to work. It was nice having her home, I wish she was on vacation all the time; the days between the weekends are just too far apart. I really enjoyed spending alone time with mommy, we played a whole lot more and I got to spend a bunch of time outside. Every morning as soon as the neighbors left for work we went out into the yard downstairs. I was leash and harness free! I ran around like a pinball, I dug in the dirt, ran under the deck, played with the shoelace with mommy. It was great. I even enjoyed when Sammie the kitten came over, we ran and took turns pouncing on each other, we even played a combo of tag and hide-and-seek. Cooter and Pickles would sometimes join in on the fun. Mommy had a ball too, she really enjoyed watching us all play, she stayed with us for almost two hours every morning, and then her coffee urge would kick in and she would go back upstairs, then either I was tied or I would want to follow her upstairs (although if I did this my paws were washed in the kitchen sink, grr, remember I don't like water unless under my own terms). So my mornings have been very exciting the past few days, and my afternoons as well. Mommy was learning how to act like a cat and would sometimes take naps with me and Cooter.

So today my morning play session was a mere 15 minutes, I pounced on Sammie the kitten and ran around the yard, but I was not allowed to dig in the dirt nor run under the deck, and I was very upset when mommy picked me up and took me upstairs and closed the patio door... how will I cope now that I know about vacations? I followed her to the front door hoping my pitiful look will convince her to stay home, but all I got was a hug and a kiss and out she went.

I am glad she is back from work now, I missed my mommy, waiting for her to return was very long. I greeted her and daddy as they came thru the door. I got rubs from daddy and mommy picked me up for a hug and some nuzzles. We walked down the hall and then put me down to pick up Sissy, I followed behind. Mommy opened the patio doors and let us out. Cooter came running up the stairs and got some mommy loving too. I of course ran down the stairs to run around on the grass, mommy followed, and she let me play a little in the yard and then we were all fed.

Now I'm going to go take a nap. It's been a long day and I am sure mommy wants to see my cute sleepy face.

Sleep, sleep and more sleep. It has been a rainy day...all day! So basically I have taken repose on the couch all day long. I was excited first thing this morning and got to play in the dirt in the backyard, but later this morning it started to rain and it has not stopped. Mommy comes out periodically to check on us and she finds me in a different position and spot on the couch, I get a few rubs and kisses and off she goes again to lock herself and daddy in the bedroom. I did go visit them once when the door was open, there is nothing in there and it was stinky, so I went back onto the couch for another nap.

Who out there thinks mom should get me my very own cat dome bed? I DO! since we have come back from the cottage I have been sleeping in my cat carrier. When she calls for me and I don't come to her, she walks over to the carrier and finds me inside of it. I can't help it, it's comfy and I'm hidden. Hope mommy has gotten the hint, my 2nd birthday is before Christmas. Mommy just make sure it's fluffy and soft. I'm going back to nap inside of it now.

A Weekend Adventure

August 22nd 2006 7:29 pm

First let's start by saying that the next time I see mommy and daddy packing I may chose to hide instead of acting all casual and curious.

I was put into my duffle bag carrier by mommy and I was in the car not 30 seconds before I started yowling. Mommy unzipped me and put me on her lap, I didn't stop yowling right away, but I was feeling more comfortable with mommy holding and petting me. After a few visits to daddy's lap, I finally curled up on mommy and took a nap. It was a very long 2 1/2 drive and I was happy when we finally stopped.
Mommy took me into the cottage and set me up in their bedroom with my food bowls and my booda dome (I have my own litter). She then let me out and left me alone to explore. And I did! Within 10 minutes I had investigated all the nooks and crannies, Mommy giggled every time I came out from underneath a bed with webs and dust on my whiskers. After my exploration of my new surroundings I ate, did my business and curled up on a bed and took a nap. I came out in the evening and explored some more, mommy was very curious to know what I was doing when she saw me playing, I found a rock and was having a fun time pushing it and rolling it around. She brought me 4 of my own toys from home, but I liked the rock better. Then I tied to get inside of the couch, but I was unsuccessful.
The next day I went out for a stroll, mommy just had to remember my harness and leash, oh well I will make the best of it by getting tangled and squeezing into small spaces. So off I went, wandering around, I tried to sneak under the cottage but mommy would not let me, and then I tried to go into the forest but mommy didn't let me go in too far. Being somewhat upset by my boundaries, I then decided to chase and play with some grass moths and crickets. I then saw a frog, I didn't chase him though, I just looked at him, daddy picked him up and I got to sniff him, I don't like the way they smell, he was stinky. As you can imagine, I went back to chasing crickets... And guess what: there are intruders everywhere I go. A grey tabby kitty showed up, and once again mommy was all nice to her, named her and gave her some food. I was really enjoying having their undivided attention, and I was none too happy to share that.
Sunday was a great day, to borrow the famous saying from my friend Charlie, I had a super game of Pinball! I ran all around the cottage, jumping between the two couches, hiding behind walls and bouncing off things. Mommy even joined in on the fun and we played peek a boo, when I jumped to get her I would bonk her on the head.It was a very exciting morning. The evening was fun too, after dark I meowed by the door, and mommy put on my harness and off we went. I felt very adventurous, I was thinking of Scooter, she has lovely night strolls (by the way, this time mommy put on bug spray so she won't get bitten like crazy). After my night time escape, we headed back into the cottage, I was fascinated by the squeaking coming from the door. Well this lead to the door frame being taken off and 3 little bats being found. Somehow they wedged themselves in between the wood frame. Mommy was even more captivated than me. She was so excited to see them twitch and squeak that her pictures came out out of focus. The 3 little bats were annoyed by the light that they squeezed themselves back out of the tiny grooves they came in from, and daddy calked the holes. I took a nap after all the commotion.
Monday was another day of exploration, this time when I went out I was allowed to venture into the forest a little, it was great fun, I jumped up onto logs full of moss, I stuck my head inside holds and even chased (well kind off) a woodpecker. I even went by the lake and sniffed around the rocks, and then I was ready for another nap. Meanwhile the packing started again, I was put into my carrier and away we went. The car ride home was a lot worst, I yowled more and panted a whole lot too, this worried mom a bunch. I think she was more relieved to arrive home than I was. Cooter and I slept on the couch together all night, I think he missed me.
Well this was an awfully long diary entry, I think I ill head back out onto my deck to see the happenings of my alley.

This evening mommy and daddy were talking about leaving for the weekend to go up north...and they want to take me. Apparently they have the opportunity to go to grandma and grandpas cottage for 4 days, and since mommy is starting her vacation and daddy decided he was taking time off work (I think he added 'whether they like it or not') so now they want to go. I think I'm nervous and excited! They are debating about taking Cooter and Sissy. They think Cooter will probably be too stressed with the travelling and new location, and 4 days is too short of a trip to stress out poor little Sissy (she likes to meow during car rides). Last summer the 3 of them (mommy, daddy & Sissy) went for 2 weeks and my fursis loved it up there. They were hoping they could do it again this summer and take us all, but plans don't always go as intended I guess. At least I get to go, I do love me an adventure!

On another note, I think mommy wants to send me to CA, that's right: catnip anonymous. I don't have a problem, therefor I won't admit to anything! And you can't make me.

Lots of fun!

I had a really great weekend, I sure do love summertime! I spent a whole lot of this weekend outside, and almost none of that time was I wearing my harness! Mommy spent a lot of time with me relaxing outside, we also played a lot. I even made a new discovery in toys: shoelaces. Mommy and I were playing, it is so much fun to follow and pounce onto. We had many fun play sessions, Cooter even joined in on the fun. But then mommy played a little with Pickles, I didn't like that much, so I attacked him a couple of times. Mommy really didn't like that, she says I shouldn't be jealous...

There is also a new intruder, a 6 month old kitten mommy has named Sammie (she knows his real name and choses to ignore it), and once again, mommy thinks this thing is adorable. He also wanted to play with my shoelace, and she let him. That kitten even thinks I'm a toy, he crouches, wiggles its butt and then jumps on me, it also plays with my tail. I didn't like it much, but I only scared him away instead of attacking him back.

Cooter and I even played some, we chased the shoestring together and each other. Well he started the each other, he ran up to me and bopped me on the head with his paw and ran away, I naturally followed. It was quite fun.

Mommy says she won't be playing with me in the grass at night anymore...I'm very sad by this. She explained to me that everyone at work asked her what she ran into... you see yesterday night when we were playing, she got bit by a mosquito on her cheek bone and now it is all red and swollen. Poor mommy, last month she was bit on her forehead and she looked like she was growing a horn.

Well there is still some light out, so I'm going back outside to play.

Have I mentioned yet how much I LOVE SCOOTER? If you didn't already know, now you do... and if you already knew, then yes I do enjoy sounding like a broken record.
I think of her and I start purring and rolling on my back as though I am in a field of catnip. I love her mommy too, wish I could cuddle up to her and show her I think she is purrrfect too, maybe she would like my cold wet nose in her neck too. I'm going to ask mommy if she is willing to load me on a plane so I can go visit.

Oh the excitement of being chosen for Diary of the Day! What honor (even if I am #4 out of 5). I have waited so long to be chosen (ok, again, but it didn't count as I was chosen when I only had one diary entry). No one else in my furr family has been chosen, does that make me extra special? Think I can get some extra treats from mommy? Maybe some tuna? We'll see later, but for now I'm going to roll like I was in a field of catnip! Thanks Catster!

Hope you all enjoy my diary entries, be sure to check out my furr family as well. Oh and some of my friend's diary entries (thanks again to Scooter for teaching mommy and me how to add links in my diary).

purrs and headbutts to all!

Mail problems....

Oh Catster, what is a furrball to do when they can't access their fresh fish a.k.a.personal messages? I have two and I cannot mew them... (my fursis has catmail too, but that's not important right now),
One is from my buddy Charlie, you may know him as our future PRESIDENT OF THE WORLD... he had a crisis earlier this week, but all is fine now, good thing I was able to read his diary to find out since our Catmail is on the fritz! Or maybe the email is about his campaign...
And the other is from everyone's sweetheart, that sexy gal Scooter. Oh how smitten I am with her. Have I mentioned that you should all go check out her page to see her videos yet? She has such a sweet voice, we all love it, and mommy plays us her videos at least once a week. I love to watch and listen; Sissy usually sniffs around at it as she looks, and Cooter walks all over the laptop trying to join her in her garden. Mommy made a little clip of me chasing a moth, maybe I can have a video put on my page, gotta go convince mommy to update to CatsterPlus, I'm going to act all cute, maybe get the others in cahoots with me so we can work as a team on this!

Weekend Banter

How I love weekends! Spending extra time with mommy and daddy is always fun. It starts out with me waking up early with daddy, then we hang out on the couch for a little, he pets me while he does a little computer playing, then I go back to join mommy in bed. She usually wakes up within an hour, and she is always excited when she sees me napping with her, and I like it too because I get lots of rubs and kisses. After all my loving, the best part comes next: breakfast. So off we go to the kitchen, I always hop up on the counter to watch her, someone has tomake sure we all get the same portions of food, although I am secretly hoping I get more. After breakfast, out we went, mommy let me play in the grass, she hung out for a while but then daddy called her and up the stairs she went, unfortunately not before putting the harness on me, hrrmph. I came up around lunch, ate a bit and went out on the deck to hang out with mommy and daddy, then I took a nap, the whole time I wasn't wearing my harness, it felt good to be free. Of course after dinner I wanted out again, but this time mommy put the harness back on me, oh well...
As for my day on Sunday, just repeat Saturday... except for my fun adventure chasing a moth and then eating it, oh and some BBQ's asparagus.
Although my weekend was all bliss, the only thing upsetting was that mommy and daddy took pictures of the intruders, they were also napping on MY chair and Pickles was playing with one of MY toy mice... that's right, my humans think they are cute. When my friend Charlie becomes President of the World I'm sure behavior like this will not be allowed as my humans will have to devote all their love and attention to me (ok and Sissy and Cooter too, but that's it).
Well that's it for now, I'm going back outside to enjoy the evening air!

Lounging outdoors

Mommy hasn't been taking me on many alley stroll lately, but she did get a second leash a few weeks ago so she can tie me up downstairs to the neighbors deck where i can enjoy the grass more without her having to sit there and watch me. She enjoys sitting there with me but after about an hour she would get bored or finally have to do things like make dinner, laundry or other boring things the humans do. At least with this second leash I can now lounge a whole lot more and enjoy relaxing in the cool grass (and lets not forget snacking on grass). Plus mommy leaves me with enough leash that I can stick my head and shoulders under the gate door to see the happenings in the alley. Mommy is funny, she sits up on the deck looking down at me, she sits and watches, she still sits with me downstairs in the grass, but now with this second leash I can stay in the grass a whole lot longer, and I can stay cool which important these days with all this heat. I think I'm rambling, but I really can't help it, I really like being outside, especially out on the grass, even if I still have to wear my harness.

At night I have been spending it sprawl on their bed, they have the best fan in there and it feels so good and cool on my furr. Mommy also loves the cuddles. I overheard her talking to daddy and she was saying something about getting A/C, I don't know what that is but I sure hope it isn't code for another cat.

Have you all seen who is second in today's pick for diary of the day? Well it is my buddy Charlie ! I'm so happy for him, he has great adventures, they are fun to read and more kitties can now enjoy them as much as I do. And I think he wants to run for PRESIDENT OF THE WORLD... I think I will just have to help him with his campaign...

Monkey's Big 1st Birthday Bash!

That Spunky Monkey Bunkey sure does know how to throw a party! Mom let all 3 of us go, she was worried about us traveling across the border, but we just told them we were headed to Monkey's 1st Birthday party and we escorted across the border like royalty. Everyone loves Monkey (Blue)! When we got there the party was already a hoppin' and we saw Calvin break dancing on the dance floor, he sure has some great moves! As you can see by the picture we mostly hung out by the pool area and we think this was the bestest party ever! Thanks for having us Monkey!

Too nice...

Can someone please tell mommy to stop feeding the neighbor's cats! I really don't like that she gives them attention and food, and there are 4 of them. I really don't like Marshmallow, that pesky white furrball is always meowing! Recently Shittaki has started showing up, she is very timid and often hides. On rare occasions Olive will show up, he's paranoid and only shows up in secret. And then there is Pickles, he's mom's favorite, she gives him extra rubs and food, I think she prefers him only because he is orange like me.
Mom says that the neighbor lady is really nice and she tries, but that maybe she can't afford to feed them as much as they need to eat. Or maybe her two dogs eat their cat food. They are pretty skinny cats I must admit... The cats know mommy and know she is one great mommy, I mean she took me in after all. However I would prefer that these cats would stop hanging around my deck and yard!

PS: mom knows the real name of these kitties, but she likes hers more...

Just wanted to wish that cute Monkey (Blue) a wonderfull 1st birthday. And a little late, but that comical Calvin celebrated his 15th birthday yesterday.

I'm very excited for Scooter's birthday in October, that good looking gal will be turning 18. If you haven't already you must check out her videos, she is just so cute!
I wonder when my friend Charlie will be turning 6 years old.

As for all of us, mom doesn't know any of our birthdates so she kind of approximates. She says that Sissy's is in August, mine is around Halloween and Cooter's is in May. I haven't yet had an official birthday with mommy yet, but Cooter got tuna and fresh catnip, and that sounds good to me.

I don't feel so repressed, apparently other mommies keep their furrballs locked indoors most hours of the day too, this is why we all feel the need to escape and adventure outside, you can read Kitty and his outdoor adventure as he knows what I am talking about. That must have been one exciting escape, I'm so proud of him!

I ate something wonderful today: asparagus. It was wonderful! I hoped up onto mommy's lap as daddy gave her her plate and I took a sniff, so she bit me off a piece of asparagus and I ate it from her hand. Actually I kinda devoured it! I look at her and she bit me off another piece, so we took turn, one bite for her then one for me. I sat there until her asparagus was gone! I was quite full afterwards, mommy says I must have eaten 5-6 spears all to myself. Good thing I discovered I like asparagus because mommy likes it too and BBQs it often...yummy!

Wet Tails

I just love wet hair! I can often be found waiting for mommy to come out of the shower hoping her hair is all wet so I can get a nice nibble or two of it. Mommy towel dries her hair so she bends over drying it and I jump up under the towel and paw at her face and hair, I even rub her head and hair snuggling in She often stops and lets me rub and sniff, even petting me as I do this. She is so great for having long hair. Sometimes I even tackle to towel and make her drop it on the floor, then I curl up on it and nap. A wet towel can be a good thing some times.

I haven't told you all something that mommy did to me a few weeks ago, she tried to give me a bath! Ok so it wasn't a real bath because there was only an inch of water in the tub, but she put me in and I hated it! I freaked she grabbed me and wet my toes again, I was having none of that so I ran! After my horrible ordeal she apologized repeatedly and I heard her tell daddy she could have sworn I would have had a fun time... why? just because I love to watch mommy do the dishes and then sit in the sink afterwards, or walk in the tub after someone has showered, or get rubbed all over the head with wet hands (repeatedly) and chew and play with wet hair does not mean I like water.

This reminds me of Tjockis' diary entry about him and water.

Abandoned…again

Why does she leave me? Why does she have to go to this place called 'wurk'? It has FINALLY stopped raining, the first sign of sun in two weeks and she only lets me out 5 minutes. I was casually walking around the deck, sniffing around and pausing in the warm sun’s rays when she picked me up and took me inside. I’m fed up of being inside; I want to be outside basking in the sunshine and enjoying the smells around me. I would even let her put on my harness without a fuss if I could only be outside. But no, I was taken inside against my will. I sat at the patio door whining and pitifully crying (which always gets her attention and at least a few head rubs), but she just walked away from me. I heard her by the front door so I ran there hoping to make my escape, but I only got a few sniffs in and back in her arms I was, but this time she hugged me and squeezed me and told me that she has to go, she would love to stay with me and play all day especially on this beautiful sunny day, but her going to work puts food in my bowl, so I guess I have no choice but to accept her regularly abandoning me…even if I think I would gladly skip a meal or two if she would stay home with me and let me outside. I can’t wait for her return, she promised to let me outside, and she said we would go for a walk too!

Bugs

I had a fun 10 minutes that I feel I must share with everyone. I found a bug in the house and I played with it, I chased it, swatted at it, held it down with my paw, pounced on it and almost ate it. It was a house centipede and I found him. I’m a great hunter you know… Well mom saw me running down the hall into the bathroom and noticed I was chasing something; she followed me and saw that I was playing with my newly found bug. Well she freaked and called daddy, apparently this is the only bug that mommy won’t touch, and that is okay because I’m brave enough to touch them. Mommy is frightened of them because she doesn’t understand why they have so many legs. So I decided to tell her why they have all those legs: it’s because it is more fun to chase them, swat them, hold them down with your paw to feel them squirm, pounced on them and eat them (ok so the last one I’m only guessing because daddy took it away from me). Well it was fun while it lasted… At least it wasn’t a total loss; I did get to eat a moth later that night when I was out on the deck with my harness.

Oh boy am I going to have a catnip good time now with my diary, and more work for mommy, (ok fine, not all that much more work). My friend Scooter taught me how to add links in my diary! (currently doing a catnip rolling dance) Mom said she will go back into all of our diary entries and add the links directly and fancy them all up. Mommy even found an old diary of mine from February she forgot to publish, how could she, is was just there sitting as a draft... silly mommy. Well I got to go nip mommy and have her start modifying my dairy first, and then I'll let her do the other kitties'. So once again thank you to Scooter (and her mommy) for all their help! Hope I will be as clever as she is when I grow up...

Nighttime lovin’

Sometimes an orange furrball just needs to be loved and snuggled at all hours of the day and night. I don’t think that just because my humans are sleeping that should stop me from getting some snuggles. Do you?
Since I have been slacking on my snuggling duties these past few nights, I decided to wake mommy up 3 times for some loving! First I jump up on the bed by daddy and walk on him, then I walk on mommy, I sit by her head purring and stick my wet nose in her neck, this wakes her up quickly. I then snuggle and nuzzle my nose in her neck and her hair while purring up a storm. Mommy always accommodates me with pets and rubs and kisses, she even nuzzles me back. Sometimes I even snuggle under the warm blanket and take a quick nap. I have never been shooed away yet, well not by mommy anyways, daddy is another story… nighttime lovin’ is always a good thing!

Mom is lucky to have me... she was busy working at the dining room table, there was papers sprayed all over it and she seemed bored. So I of course decided she needed some Luke love, so I hoped up on the table and layed down right in front of her and just plain looked adorable. She smiled and pet me and snuggled me. I think she was mumbbling something about having to finish her taxes or something, I don't know what she was talking about exactly because all I saw was a bunch of papers... All I know is that furr love is always good, and she always pays attention to me when I'm cute.

The weather was so nice and warm that mommy went out on the deck and let me join her without my harness. So when she wasn't looking for a quick second I ran down the stairs and she had to chase after me in her socks, haha, she got her socks wet when she had to step on the grass. That was funny!

What happened to spring? Why is it snowing? The ground is white again, I was so excited to be able to roam outside more and longer, even if on a harness... really hope it disappears soon. I think mommy feels the same as me, she keeps looking outside grumbling. Well I think I'm going to curl up by daddy on the couch and stay warm.

Well she did it again, she put the harness on me! Arrgh! I really want to run free, or at the very least wear a simple collar with tag like Cooter, but no, I get a harness and leash. Mom keeps saying that I'm not allowed to pull a Houdini, really wish I knew what that was because I would really like to know what I'm supposedly not allowed to pull... Well got to now and plan my escape.

Another fun day

Another fun but average day, I hung out with mom as she showered, then she fed me, and while she was getting ready for work I was looking out the front door window investigating the neighborhood. Today mommy and daddy came home from work at the same time, I greeted them at the door like I usually do, well I usually run to mommy for love, she always rubs me all over then picks me up and kissed me and hugs me and I really like that. But I always remember to meow hello to daddy and quickly rub against his leg to get to mommy, so I don't completely ignore him, It's just that I miss mommy more during the day.
After all my loving (she did however go and hug and love the others too, but I'm not giving any details about them, it is my diary after all) she fed all of us kitties and then Cooter wanted out. You know it isn't fair that he gets a collar and can go out and roam anywhere he wants. Then Sissy wanted to go out and all she does is open the door and she goes out, but me I have to wear a harness. I want to be free. But mommy says that it is safer for us to be indoor cats and since Cooter was a real stray she can't deprive him because he freaks if he is in too long, and Sissy well she only hangs out on the deck and never ventures down the stairs so Mommy doesn't have to worry about her. I still would like to go out and venture like Cooter though...
I got some new toys, some furry colored mice filled with catmip so I've been running around all evening chasing them. Then I saw mommy looking under the kitchen appliances and she got out all the toys I was hiding under there, so I have more stuff to play with now. Mommy also updated my arrival story on catster, she felt she was lacking in details, which she was, I'm a cutie she should talk more about me.
Oh I see daddy getting comfy on the couch, I'm going to go snuggle up with him and take a nap...

A fun new day...

I've made a new friend on catster, his name is Charlie, he has such fun adventures... And today he gave me some rosettes! How cool is he?!?! Wish we could play, we could wrestle and chase his dog together! Well maybe not, he's a big dog, I might be frightened...

On another note, today after work mommy went under the stove and couch and got out my toys! That was fun, I got to play all over again! And then she took pictures of me with a plastic green hat, how embarrasing, but at least I got it off pretty quick. Lets hope she doesnt post any pics of me with it on...

A Happy cat!

Thanks so much...since others think I'm special I'm going to go see if mommy will give me some treats. Oh wait, mommy is looking under the stove, I think she discovered my hiding place for my toys, gotta go and play...

I can see mommy squeezing my sister Sissy, I know what that means, she is all emotional. She does this every time she reads other kitty diaries that are sad. You see I hang out with mommy and daddy quite a lot, I snuggle with them a whole lot more than she does, so mommy usually goes and drags her out of her tent or something and hugs her furiously until she feels better. Then I get the rubs and hugs cuz I'm easier to find. Someone has got to tell her to stop reading them sad diaries and stick to fun and cute ones...so to all the kitties out there get pawing on them keyboards and write some funny diary entries, mommy needs some!

Feeling special

Today is a great catster day for this orange furrball, my diary has been chosen today. I always thought I was a special kitty, extra purrs today. This feeling is as good as rolling in catnip! Any chance of getting extra treats from mom, humm let's go try...
I am honored to share this day with some other wonderful kitties, received an email from one, her name is Peyton. Isn't she cute? There are so many purr-fect kitties out there...I would gladly snuggle and nap with her. But do I have to choose only one kitty, or can I have a cat crush on many kitties? I hope I am allowed to cat-nap about many cuties out there, if I told you about them I'm sure you too would find them purr-fect. Humm, so let's see: there is a local girl Lola who is just so tabby-tortie captivating, and there is an orangy like me named Tiger Lily who is so lovely, (you know all orange girl kitties are somewhat rare I hear, so extra purrs to her), and then there is my lovely Maisy, my first kitty crush, she is also the first kitty to email me...ahh, I am one lucky boy to be surrounded by such beautiful, sweet and darling kitties...purrs.

Mommy hasn't played with me with my favorite toy lately... I keep crying and showing her I know where it is. She said it is broken, I dont know what she isnt talking about. All I know is that grandpa has to come and fix it because he is a fisherman. When is he coming over already! I want to run and jump and attack that orange mouse at the end of my catfisher rod! Hope he gets here soon cuz that feather stick just isnt doing the trick...
