Quick Bio:

Coloration: Gray
Likes: I like chasing balls when mom throws them for me. I like sitting on the window sill and watching the birds, and love to be brushed and petted. I like to sunbathe in front of a window, and biting my mommy's feet when she is asleep.
Pet-Peeves: I hate when mom pays attention to Icon! I do not like the vacume cleaner, being picked up too much, or having my nails (claws) clipped. I do not like the new cat mom and dad brought home. His name is Icon. He is big and slow and I boss him around.
Favorite Toy: I like to chase the remote-controlled toy car, fishing pole feathers, ear plugs, and anything else that moves :-) Newest favorite toy is a golf ball! Chasing Icon's tail is fun.
Favorite Nap Spot: I love sleeping on the window sills when it's sunny, on the sofa with dad at night, or in my new cat-tent.
Favorite Food: IAMS Original Dry Food, Iams canned food on occassion, I'll try anything I see mom eating - including her soup when she wasn't looking. Oh, and any of Icon's food too.
Skills: Running laps in the living room, jumping almost 4 feet high from a dead standstill. Opening the dresser drawers, taking her collar off and putting in the open drawer. Knows her name, and comes when she is called (if she feels like it).
Dwells:
indoors
Arrival Story: I was adopted from a shelter in December 2005. I spent the first week in my new home hiding under the dresser. The second week was spend hiding up on the window sill. That's when mom noticed that I was a little bit sick - I kept sneezing and breathing funny. Mom gave me some medicine, and soon I felt better. After I assessed that there was nothing lurking around waiting to eat me or hurt me, and the people here feed me and love me, I decided it was safe to stop hiding. I love my new home, but I miss my feline friends at the shelter a little.
Bio: Chloe, her two siblings, and her mother were brought to an animal shelter last year. Mom is a feral cat, and the other siblings are pretty wild too. Unfortunately, the rest of her family is still at the shelter, not tame enough to be adopted. Hopefully they will come around like Chloe did.

The Vet called to say they found the cause of Chloe’s illness. She has secondary viremia Feline Leukemia Virus. The vet said Chloe has a white blood cell count of one - the lowest that she’s ever seen, and does not expect her to recover.
Chloe went to the Rainbow Bridge on November 7 2007.
She tested negative as a kitten (possibly because she wasn’t producing antibodies yet). I never thought to have her re-tested. She had an occasional goopy eye but it always cleared up on its own. No other health problems until now.
I feel very guilty for not bringing her to the vet earlier. Guilty for not paying close attention to the warning signs. Chloe’s health rapidly declined from Sunday night to Tuesday night. Chloe is very shy and kept to herself more than Icon and Katie. She had been hiding in the closet or behind the sofa all weekend - I didn’t think her absence was cause for immediate alarm. I was wrong.
Tonight’s visit to the Vet was very scary. Chloe looked twice as bad today then yesterday. Although, the past several days we haven’t much of her at all. I didn’t realize how sick she looked until we got to the exam room. Gooey eyes, runny nose, and the Vet told me that the skin in her ears and head is a yellowish color and suspects that her liver is failing.
Her liver is failing. Chloe isn’t even 3 years old. Why didn’t I notice how bad she looking earlier?!
She is staying at the Vets for the next few days/nights. She’ll be on an IV for fluids and medicine. There is a possibly a feeding tube or liver biopsy might be necessary.
