Arrival Story: Junior was brought into our vets office when he was less than a week old. He had fallen out of the attic of someones garage and was screaming for food, covered with fleas and had a scab on his umbilicus the size of a quarter. None of the staff at the vets could get him to eat anything so they called me. At 9 weeks he was operated on because he had a huge umbilical hernia so that was repaired and he was neutered. He was sent home with pain meds and a hot pink vet rap bandage around hus tummy...boy did he hate that thing. I will never forget tiny Junior throwing a tantrum in that pink bandage!

Bio: After his hernia surgery he did really well for quite a while, then when he was about 2 he developed this terrible drainage from his right nostril and very bad breath. The vet treated it as an upper respiratory infection for quite a while but it would always reoccur. we discussed the possibility if a nasal tumor or polyp and scheduled him for X rays. They sedated him and just out of curiousity the vet looked down his throat with a small mirror and out from behind his soft pallet popped a polyp the size of the end of my little finger. He had to pull it out as there was no other way to get to it and warned us that it may grow back His recovery was amazing but about 6 months later it came back and he removed it again, we had no more trouble from that again.
The morning of January 24, 2003 I woke up to find Junior prone on the floor, unable to stand with his pupils dilated and crying. I called my vet who was only a minute away and rushed him up there. He had a grade 2 heart murmur, harsh breathing and bleeding behind his eyes. We think he had some type of a thromboembolism. I could tell he was in pain and asked Dr. Antz if there was any real chance of his survival and we agreed to put him to sleep. It was such a hard thing to do , he was only 4 and he was one of the sweetest cats I have ever owned. He used to come up and lean against me when I was sitting on the sofa and he would give me a look that said he just loved me so much. I still think about him every day and it always brings tears to my eyes............
