Arrival Story:
After I lost my Siamese, I decided to start researching breeders of Maine Coons because my sister and mother each have one. I found Sophie sooner than I thought I would and wasn't sure if I was ready, but I got her and she is so much fun. She makes me laugh all day long!
Bio:
I am sorry and heartbroken to report that today, 2/8/06, Sophie was diagnosed with FIP. For those not familiar with this, it stands for Feline Infectious Peritonitis. It is a disease that not much is known about. It is caused by a mutation of the corona virus. Unfortunately, the mortality rate is 99%. Sophie was euthanized on 2/15/06. My angel will no longer be suffering and will be in heaven. She provided me so much joy while she was here. Good luck to all who are trying to find a cure and fight this illness.
