Arrival Story:
Iwandered across the back deck into the kitchen one night when it was warm enough to leave the kitchen door open. There on top of the cat tree, helping himself to cat food soup, was this skinny, coarse-haired black cat. He bolted out the door, across the deck, and through the back yard before I could get a good look at him. Definitely collarless. I spent a couple of weeks (at least) coaxing him over to a dish of kibble behind the garage, and finally he was tolerating being petted. Soon enough, he joined me indoors for warmth, shelter, hot food, and restroom facilities. Now he makes special trips back into the house from outside, just to use the loo. He's evidently quite the aristocrat that way.

Bio:
He's a black and white cat, flying that tuxedo flag. He's low to the ground, broad across the shoulders, and mischievous--if you remember the early 007 flick "Goldfinger," the tuxedoed henchman Odd Job matches this description, too (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm075713 8/photogallery). Henchman or not, Odge is not the sharpest spike in the railroad tie. When they were remodeling a house next door to my old place, he managed to crawl through the freshly-exposed crawl space and up into the attic. Three times. Tut and Mo came and went from that house as they pleased, but Odge required multiple rescues--I tore off a vent screen over there, missed work, climbed ladders, and got scratched to ribbons. *Usually*, half the fun of owning cats is marvelling at how clever they are. And Odge really is a loyal, affectionate, true blue companion. But he's no Einstein. What still blows me away about Odd Job is what I discovered shortly after I'd cajoled him into hanging around the house. I put a temp collar on him, asking anyone who knew about him to call with any info they could. Turns out his previous owners lived a couple blocks away, and they moved and didn't take him along. They only moved about 4 miles away. Why get a cat at all if this is your idea of how to take care of him when you move? Sheesh.
