Favorite Food: Friskies Shredded Turkey N Cheese and a pinch of Chicken breast
Skills: Putting toys in our bags when we pack them to go somewhere.
Arrival Story: Pepper was found in Bethalto, IL starved and barely alive by a kind person with 4 cats of her own. She fed pepper, took her to the vet and soon discovered Pepper needed to be an "only" child. She ran an ad in the paper, which I answered. I was interviewed on the phone, went to meet MJ (Pepper's Nanny) and went home with Pepper that night.
Bio: Pepper was spayed a week after I got her. We have moved from ILL. to La and to Tx. Pepper's Daddy calls her Ugly Kat and says she needs a new paint job. She gets to go outside supervised and on a leash and harness (her bra), to soak up sunbeams. She has no patience for animals or kids within her territory!! Her Nanny calls her "Lady Pepper". "PPPOOOFF" is Pepper's favorite saying!

My Family:: I am an only furchild, so let me explain my family. 1. Spot Kat: She was my Mommy's furbaby who (RIP) was gone when Mommy got me. 2. SQuishie: she was my human Sister's baby. She lives in Tx. 3. Scrappie: he found my Mommy but now lives with SQuishie in Tx. 4. Cali: she is my human Sissy's baby. She lives in La. My Mommy added them to my Catster account so they could enjoy visiting with everyone too.
This is Pepper's Mom. I just want to pay tribute to my furchild while she is alive, healthy, still a mess to handle and a cheetah on the prowl!
When I met Miss Pepper she had an apartment of kitties held in terror. Five of them to be exact. Her "Nanny" found her outside of her door one morning and Pepper entered before even being invited. (That's my girl)She was skin and bones about 2 inches wide across her back. Three days later her milk dropped. Of course what happened prior is a secret only Pepper knows. When I met Pepper after seeing an ad in the paper, it was two weeks later, she had had her shots, was aged at 8 months, and an appointment set for her spay. I picked her up, where she promptly hissed in my face and slapped my glasses off my face. I told her right then "you are mine". There was no getting her in a cat carrier, one that would hold a cheetah maybe, but not one for a cat. I wrapped her in my jacket, took her to my truck and put her on the passenger seat. She hissed and curled up with her back to me and did not move until we got home and I grabbed her up, of course this warranted another hiss.
As I walked into the apartment, she struggled to get down, so I let her down. Unlike other cats, she went straight to the middle of the room. laid down on her side, stretched out and proceeded to survey her new home. Her new Daddy was not impressed and told me I had found the ugliest cat in Bethalto, IL. and called her Ugly Kat. A few days later I was watching a show that had baby cheetahs on it, her Daddy said they are as ugly as Ugly Kat and hence the name Pepper the Cheetah.
Within 2 days she realized to go outside she had to be on a harness and agreed. To this day she travels in the passenger seat of my truck (back rear passenger seat in my car that had a sunroof but all others front passenger seat). She has lived in Il, La, Tx, Mo, WV, and for now NY. And has traveled many miles to, from, and in between. She has been tent camping, trekking in the snow and wading in the Gulf of Mexico.
She has had to temporarily live with her human Sister and her Paw Paw. When living with her Sister she went in a deep depression after I would visit with her and got down to 4 lbs. As advised by her Vet, I did not go back and see her until I went and picked her up. Pepper is also all spits, claws, and teeth at the Vet's office. She let's her disapproval of a situation be known! She is the QUEEN and lessor beings may not touch!
Pepper is a Mommy and Daddy's girl. She does not want to be bothered by other humans nor animals. She does not bother when I find a baby Preying Mantis and raise it, but the feeder crickets better watch out! She is temperamental, stubborn, highly intelligent and our purrfect child. As she ages (she'll be 11 in Dec) she is starting to slow down just a bit and is becoming more giving of the occasional affection. We love her and we KNOW she loves us. There is no doubt she has been just what we have needed in our lives.
I believe when I was last here, I was in Mo. Moved to IL. Mommy had to go back to TX for a Dr's appointment and finish up some loose ends. Her three day trip turned into a 2 week trip, surgery, (she had a fistula put in for future dialysis), and to top it off her return trip was not to IL but to WV. So we are now in "West by God Virginia" While we were in IL our only internet was Mommy's phone so we had to be very careful about usage and with all the tests etc with filling out job applications there was no time to just enjoy. Here, as we are in a valley we have had no phone or internet until now when we are able to get a land line and modem.
Daddy says next time Mommy walks out with a bag, I am going with her. I drove him crazy for the 2 weeks Mommy was gone. It was obvious that he was doing nothing right and I had to explain the ways of the household day and night. I even woke him up to explain things to him hoping that he would retain my instructions better, but alas...I was not able to complete his training to my specifications.
