Orange Tabby

Window sills are nice when the other cats are not hogging them, tummy rubs are my favorite, when I am in a good mood. I am pretty much a loner most of the time, but I crave attention sometimes and it is never denied!

The other cats in the house have an agenda to make my life miserable, but I cope. Not getting a canned food when the other cat gets it. The baby pug has to go! There is something about her that makes my fur stand on end, the other dogs are OK!

Favorite Toy:
Alas, with the dogs in the house, or shall I say the PUGS, I am toyless. Eliot the pug chewed up my prized stuffed monkey:(

Favorite Nap Spot:
I really like the bed where mom and dad sleep, but sometimes it is too crowded, so I sleep in the cat house. We have a blue chair in the living room that is the "cat" chair and it is in constant rotation with the felines in the house. Its very comfy!

Favorite Food:
Canned food is my favorite, but in regards to dry, Science Diet c/d. Feline greenies rock!!

I am a master hider, no one can find me! I can also dash outside quicker than you can blink, but since my knuckles were ripped out from my previous owners, I know that I cannot survive outdoors.

Arrival Story:
At the clinic that I work at, I see many animals that come in to be treated for UTI problems, sometimes the pet guardians do not want to pay for the ongoing treatment there after and decide to put the animal down. This was the case with Kolby. I was one of the girls that was constantly handling Kolby, making him more comfortable, distributing meds, playing with him, etc. Finally the catheter was pulled and he was able to go home. Well, the previous owners called back and said that they could not handle the burden of a cat that urinates all over the house and could not afford treatment, so they wanted to put him down. I was the one who took the phone call, and tried to talk them out of it, but their mind was made up. So the appt was scheduled. They called back later and said that they just could not put him down, so they were to take him to the Humane Society. Now, do not get me wrong, the Humane Society does many wonderful things for animals, but the chances of this cat getting adopted with its previous medical history, at least at ours, is pretty slim. So I offered to take him and foster him until I could find him a good home. Well, we all see how that worked out, Kolby is a wonderful addition to our family, even though, sometimes he does not get along with every one else. We could not see life without him!! He loves to cuddle, and even though he was once the only cat in a house, he is socializing little by little, though most of the time he prefers to be alone. I have no doubt in my mind that his previous owners loved him very much, but understandably, constant UTI can cause hardship on not only the animal, but its people as well.
