I just received an anonymous star from someone else who misses their kitty too. I wish I could say thank I will just say thank you now. You are beautiful!
I was just sitting here thinking about Stickers and what a kind gentle creature he was. He was really a little angel in the disguise of a darling little speechless kitty. Oh, there are just those certain creatures that God gives you for a little while to love....that you wll love forever. Stickers was one of those.
He was so kind. Sweet. Silly. Fun and funny! He was playful and sometimes not too bright, but, one cat I will always have in my heart....forever.
Thank you, kind person for sending a star so I could come to Stickers page an ponder the good days when Stickers was in my home, as well as my heart.
He made my home a happier place, warmer and better, with lots of smiles.
and love.

Commentary on the Pledge of Allegiance
by Red Skelton

I - - Me; an individual; a committee of one.
Pledge - - Dedicate all of my worldly goods to give without self-pity.
Allegiance - - My love and my devotion.
To the Flag - - Our standard; Old Glory ; a symbol of Freedom; wherever she waves there is respect, because your loyalty has given her a dignity that shouts, Freedom is everybody's job.
United - - That means that we have all come together.
States - - Individual communities that have united into forty-eight great states. Forty-eight individual communities with pride and dignity and purpose. All divided with imaginary boundaries, yet united to a common purpose, and that is love for country.
And to the Republic - - Republic--a state in which sovereign power is invested in representatives chosen by the people to govern. And government is the people; and it's from the people to the leaders, not from the leaders to the people.
For which it stands
One Nation - - One Nation--meaning, so blessed by God.
Indivisible - - Incapable of being divided.
With Liberty - - Which is Freedom; the right of power to live one's own life, without threats, fear, or some sort of retaliation.
And Justice - - The principle, or qualities, of dealing fairly with others.
For All - - For All--which means, boys and girls, it's as much your country as it is mine.
And now, boys and girls, let me hear you recite the Pledge of Allegiance:
I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic, for which it stands; one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
Since I was a small boy, two states have been added to our country, and two words have been added to the Pledge of Allegiance: Under God.

Wouldn't it be a pity if someone said that is a prayer, and that would be eliminated from schools, too?

A cat dies and goes to Heaven. God meets him at the gate and says, "You've been a good cat all of these years. Anything you desire is yours, all you have to do is ask."

The cats says, "Well, I lived all my life with a poor family on a farm and had to sleep on hardwood floors." God says, "Say no more." And instantly, a fluffy pillow appears.

A few days later, 6 mice are killed in a tragic accident and they go to Heaven. God meets them at the gate with the same offer that He made the cat.

The mice said, "All our lives we've had to run. We've been chased by cats, dogs and even women with brooms. If we could only have a pair of roller skates, we wouldn't have to run anymore." God says, "Say no more." And instantly, each mouse is fitted with a beautiful pair of tiny roller skates.

About a week later, God decides to check and see how the cat is doing. The cat is sound asleep on his new pillow. God gently wakes him and asks, "How are you doing? Are you happy here?"

The cat yawns and stretches and says, "Oh, I've never been happier in my life. And those Meals on Wheels you've been sending over are the best!"

One thing that is wonderful about life...and death
is that there are still people who remember and love you!
That way, you get to live on in the hearts of your special
Stickers is still my baby and I think of him often. When I
tell people about this special cat, I am sure my smile is
as big as Sticker's heart was.
What a bunch of beautiful memories I have.
I love you, Stickers.

I wish I had a picture...

feling with so much personality. I loved him so much.
He was honestly funny and kind and silly! We had games
to play and things to do.
He was my delight!

Stickers was named because he never realized that if he re-tracked his claws, life would be a lot easier. He would be walking across the carpet and suddenly he wasn't going anywhere. Or if he was playing "schoochie schoochie" on the side of the couch, (Sticking his claws in and moving around the bottom of the couch like a bug) he would hang up and be there until I rescued him. I would see him laying somewhere, not moving, with a pitiful look on his face and I would run to the rescue! "Silly cat...I wish you knew how to undo your claws" I would think.
So, the name Stickers was bestowed upon him!
He was Siamese and a bit of Persian with that beautiful soft fur than is like cotton balls. When I would brush him, his teeth would 'chew' and I am not sure if it was because he liked it...or not. His little face wore a mask somewhat like a baby raccoon. He was as cute as anything I ever saw. As he grew, he became a very pretty cat, but, still had that 'cuteness' that he had as a baby.
Because of him, I have always preferred the Siamese mix cats...but, any cat will do...I just love cats! We now have a Siamese mix...that is so far away from being Siamese that it is laughable. I called the Humane Society and asked if they had a Siamese mix, and we got Mawse. Well, she has blue eyes, but, that is all the Siamese I can see in her!
Stickers was my baby. My memories are beautiful

Egads! What is this? Stickers was astounded to find a boogey man in his water dish! He looked in and it looked back! OHMIGAWD~!!!
He backed up and peeked carefully again and yup, it was still there! A quick sip and he was gone. No sense taking any chances.
Later on he went back, surely that 'thing' would be gone by now!
Nope...still there.

He always had a terrible time with that water dish and the creature that lived there. He got in the habit of trying to save the other cats. If they were drinking out of the dish, he would bravely pull it away with his paw to save his buddies. He was a brave cat!
Not smart, but, very brave.
The other cats did not appreciate his helpfulness. They just wanted a drink and they didn't see any monsters in the bowl. To them he was a me, he was a hero!

I was going through some boxes today and found this picture of Stickers. I was so delighted! I can now introduce one of my favorite babies to you.
Stickers got his name because he would never remember to retract his claws when he walked across the carpet. Thus, the little guy would 'stick' and I would have to go rescue him.
I miss him to this day.
I have so many fond stories to tell about this wonderfully unique cat!
Stickers had a little problem. He couldn't talk! His mouth would move in the proper way, but, no sound came out! It wouldn't seem like much of a problem, but, every now and again, Stickers would be following me around the house, and then, suddenly I would realize he was gone. I would have to backtrack around the house and look in cupboards and drawers for him. When I found the right door, there he would be, meowing (silently) for all he was worth!
His world was a bit different in other ways. I called my bro-in-law who was a veterinarian and asked if cats could be retarded and he said that they suffer the same ailments that humans do. Okay, so we have a retarded, mute kitten here...all the more to love!
Well, today is just a bit of an introduction. There will be more as time allows. Be sure to check back as Stickers had some exciting times. He had a boogey man in his water dish, and a terrible nasty bird that flew out of this box on the wall and scared him half silly every time! He had a pet rabbit and loved to play hide and seek. He had an exciting life!
