Mom and her dreams. Last night she dreamed I had a kitten! It was black and white and a persian like me. Now she's keeping her eye out for a kitten to show up on her doorstep.

My Third Bridge Day

My third anniversary at the bridge was Tuesday, July 8. Mom was hoping for a rainbow but, since she was at her mother's house and it was raining there, I couldn't manage one. Gramma is in home hospice care right now and not doing too well so I thought I'd better make an appearance to check things out. Mom and gramma were sitting in the living room talking when gramma said she saw a cat walk into the bedroom and got up to see where it went. When she couldn't find it, she came back and sat down. Mom said it was me. (and it was!) Mom was glad I let gramma see me.

My Playdate With Annie and Bartholomew

Mom has the strangest dreams sometimes. In this one I was in her lab at work and it was really dark. Either because the doctor and the post docs were looking at the flourescent bands on a gel or because it was very early in the morning or both. I was playing with Bartholomew and Annie under the bench and mom had a flashlight and was trying to find and clean up the hairball mess that Bartholomew had made. We were having a good time chasing each other until mom woke up and had to actually find and clean up the hariball mess that Bartholomew made! Mom needs to stop eating pizza before bed!

Mom's "B" Movie Dream

Last night, after mom ate a bowl of shredded wheat right before bed, I starred in her "B" movie dream. She was on an island with many trees and there were people dressed in native outfits. She had gone there on vacaton and was exploring all over the island - up the mountain to look out at the sea then down into the jungle. In the jungle village there was an auction of shipwreck items going on. I think Ty Pennington was the auctioneer! There was also a strange guy running around yelling and carrying sticks that were on fire. Mom went into a hut to hide from the fire guy and saw me there. I was alive again and she was so happy to see me. I purred when she picked me up to hug me. She petted me for a long time and then set me on a wobbly table. I jumped down and walked out the door. Then mom woke up. Some dream, huh.

The Rainbow

Today is my two year bridge anniversary. Mom was kind of down so I sent her a rainbow. She had gone to the store and it had rained while she was shopping. On her drive home, she saw the most beautiful rainbow right over our house! I sent it to her as a present. I sent her one the day before as well but that one was just near our house. I needed the practice to get today's rainbow precisely in the right spot. She loved it and wanted to take a picture but it faded before she got the camera out. I guess now i'm going to have to work on making the rainbows last longer.

Seven Facts about Me

1. I am mom's perfect angel. Just ask her!
2. I would always lay beside mom with my tail in her face.
3. I would pat her nose to wake her up
4. I would get in the bathtub and meow loudly at the walls.
5. I "fixed" the blinds so I could see out.
6. I let mom hold me like a baby and sing to me.

One Year

I crossed the bridge one year ago today. It's nice here but I miss mom. I'm glad she has those two silly cats to keep her company. They seem to keep her entertained.

The visit

I visited my mom today in a dream. This was the first time I have come to her in a dream since I went to the bridge nine months ago.
