Escape!

Last Saturday it was raining all day so I just laid on my table by the window and looked out. Mom was lookng out too saw a little humming bird sitting on the porch railing. It just sat there. For a long time. Well, mom got the idea that she would take a picture of it but every time she tried to take the picture out the window, the flash would go off and spoil the picture. Finally she opened the door just a crack and tried again but the bird flew off. It was back a minute later and she tried the door again. What she didn't know was that I had gotten down and tiptoed out the door while she was concentrating on the bird picture! She shut the door and thought she saw something moving on the porch so she looked out the window and saw me checking out the cactus! I almost got away with it but stopping to investigate the cactus was my downfall. She tiptoed up behind me and scooped me up and took me back inside. She said I was grounded! Whatever that means. That was sort of fun so maybe I'll try it again later. (Don't tell mom)
PS: You can see the little hummer picture above.

The Intruder

Mom feeds those outside cats every morning and they always try to look in at us. Well this morning, the big black one actually came in the house! Mom started yelling then she grabbed me and shut me in the bathroom! I heard her yelling at the black cat and then yelling for Annie. I guess Annie had gone into hiding like she always does and mom couldn't find her. The yelling got louder and louder when mom couldn't find the black cat either. I guess she finally found him, though. She took the screen off the window and shooed him out with the broom. After about ten minutes (it seemed like forever, though) she let me out of the bathroom. She went around the house spraying Feliway all over where the cat had been while I made the rounds of the house, fur standing on end, until I was sure the black cat was gone. Then I hopped up on my place by the window and went to sleep. (could it have been the Feliway making me sleepy?) Everything is OK for now but mom needs to find another way to feed those cats!

Who's the New Cat?

Humph! The groomer lady came today and I was shoved into the carrier and taken out to get groomed. It was bad enough that they blindfolded me (and it was Mom's idea! - BAD MOM!), but to my indignation, I got my rear shaved! Fortunately, it didn't take long until I was released into my house again. Well, after awhile, mom brings in the carrier again and lets this funny smelling little cat into MY house! It kind of looked like my evil step-sister but it didn't smell like her so I started stalking it. I caught it under the bed and fought it until it ran away. Then I started stalking it all over again. The nerve of it trying to get into MY house! Mom was acting kind of strange about the fighting and it seemed like she was taking the new cat's side. She kept telling me it was Annie but I wasn't convinced. I can't seem to find it right now so maybe it left. Hummm, I haven't seen Annie lately, either. I guess she'll show up sooner or later. I wonder it she's making friends with that new cat. She'll be sorry if she is.

Outside!

My silly step-sister Annie is afraid of the outside but I'm not. Mom put the harness thing on me again and took me outside. This time I got to go all the way down the driveway. I tried to go under all the brush to see if there were any squirrels or bugs but mom didn't want me under there and pulled me out. Then she carried me down the rest of the way and put me down near the mailbox. I tried walking in the grass but the brush called me again. That's where all the bugs are, after all. So she picked me up again and carried me back to the porch. I got to lay on the porch all of ten minutes before she took me back inside. Now I meow really loud at the door telling her I want out again but she ignores me. She says there are evil things out there that eat cats but I've never seen them. I'm plotting an escape and I think mom's onto my plans 'cause she watches the door every time she goes out. One of these days...

He-Man Hunter

Last night mom found one of those evil scorpion things on the living room wall. She tried to reach it with her Bug Getter Tongs but it just ran and hid behind the computer desk. Well, later that night, I found it on the floor by the desk and called for mom to bring her Tongs. I meowed and meowed until she heard me and came to see what I was making such a ruckus about. When she saw that I had cornered the evil scorpion she ran and got the Tongs and came back to try to catch it. Meanwhile, my clueless step-sister Annie came in and started nosing around and scared the scorpion off so mom had to chase it. She finally caught it in the Tongs and showed it to Annie who promptly ran off. (the big scaredy cat) Then she took it outside and when she came back in, she hugged me and gave me a special treat! Now she's calling me her Fearless Scorpion Hunter! I'm going to be on the lookout for more bugs from now on! Look Out Bugs!

The Great Outdoors (sort of)

It all started with the package that came yesterday. Mom opened it and there were some colored strips of cloth inside. Well, mom caught me and started wraping these around my neck and body. It felt wierd. Then she clipped another cloth strip onto the the ones on me and made me walk around the house this way. What is this? Another way to torment me??? I mostly just laid there refusing to move to show how much I didn't like what she was doing, so she took the awful device off. Next day (today) she again put that device on me but she didn't clip the other strip on. This was just too much so I went and hid and pouted in my step-sister's big house and wouldn't come out even when mom offered me treats. Eventually, though, I came out and mom clipped the other strip on, picked me up and took me outside the door onto the porch. Well, this was exciting! I examined all the plants and walked around a bit and finally went over to the stairs to go down but mom WOULDN'T LET ME GO! I tried to get around her but I couldn't find a way down those stairs. How Frustrating! Then she picked me up and put me back in the house. She said she didn't have on shoes and didn't want to hurt her feet on the ground so we had to stay up on the porch, but next time I get to go all the way down and explore the yard!

Uh Oh, Mom's Mad

This morning while I was on top of my tree house looking at "bunny TV", mom came over and started brushing me. She knows that I don't like it when she brushes me so I accidently started biting her hand. Boy, did she get mad! She tried to calm me down but by that time, I was mad, too. I boxed her hand away and growled and bit some more so she gave up and put down the brush and walked away. After that, she wouldn't talk to me. She put out the food and water and cleaned the litter box and then just left for that place she calls "work" without saying 'bye as usual. I was afraid she was so mad that she would be gone forever so I was happy to see her when she got home. I rubbed my head on her leg and purred to let her know that I was sorry but I still don't like to be brushed.

Saving Mom

Mom doesn't like spiders in the house. That's why I was surprised when she had a fit when I found one in the bathtub today and ate it. She had a fit and wanted me to drink some water immediately. They taste good without water. She thinks she should catch them in a jar and put them outside again. I think she should be grateful that I saved her the trouble.

The haircut

Well, she did it. Mom put me in the carrier and took me out to a trailer parked in front of the house. I didn't know what was going to happen. All I knew was that my evil step-sister had come in from outside looking and smelling very strange. Well, the next thing I knew, there was a blindfold over my eyes and someone was shaving the fur off my body. I couldn't see where to bite so I stayed still until they got to my rear end region. That was just going too far! I started growling and wouldn't hold still so they quit. When they took off the blindfold, all my beautiful fur was gone except for on my tail and head. I was mortified! Mom said it was to get the mats off my stomach and chest 'cause I won't let anyone near me with a brush. Next time she gets the carrier out, I'm going to hide so she won't ever find me!

I'll Deal with this Myself

Well, I got poo stuck in my fur again. Even after they clipped my backside (and they weren't even licenced groomers!) so close that I felt a draft. My humom shut me up in the bathroom and tried to clean me up but I howled and cried like she was killing me and she stopped and let me out. She kept following me around cleaning up the places where I sat until the poo dried. The next day, she tried to sneak the comb through but I caught on and ran under the bed. I eventually worked out the bits that were left - leaving them on the rug where my humom could find them. So you see, it was No Big Deal. I can deal with it myself.
