Arrival Story:
I found his mother, Elionora, hungry, cold, tired, and very pregnant walking on the street begging food. She was lovely. I took her to the vet for a check up, and then home. She presented me with 6 beautiful kittens 5 days later. I found homes for her and all the babies. I have 2 of them, and my parents 1, so I can keep track. I fed his father for 11 years until he died a few years ago. I only touched him once, but I loved him. I have a lovely pic of him sleeping in the sun in my garden. I could not give Louis away. I was too scared. I never found anyone I could trust with his life. He can't go out, and he has special emotional needs. A true lover-

Louis is special. He was born the day after his brothers and sister, and he suffers from brain damage, probably the result of not getting enough oxygen during birth. He also has a mild case of wobblers syndrome. It affects his dexterity, and his playing. It also makes him more of a mommy's boy. He is my darling man. Charming. He loves to sit on my lap, or tummy, getting hugs, and purring deeply. And I love it too. He is also good at telling me what he wants. A paw on my arm to get my attention. It's very effective. I am so happy I am blessed with him.

Forums Motto:
I love a good bed.

overactive thyroid!

Well, today Louis and I went to visit the vet. I knew something had to be wrong because he was starting to eat me out of house and home. I am more than happy to feed him, but when his food intake almost tripled in a month, and I had trouble keeping enough canned food in the house for him, I knew something was wrong! So we took some blood samples and got confirmed what we had already suspected-an overactive thyroid! At least it's easy to treat. Well, as easy as getting a pill into him is, which is almost impossible. At least now he will not spend all night on my head bugging me for food! So tonight we try our first pill.
For now Louis is lying next to me on the bed purring while I am petting him. Heavenly for us both!
