Arrival Story:
I replied to an add in the paper for someone who had a shed full of kitties...so when i went out there to pick a kitty out, I saw him and said "I want that one" and she replied.."no you don't, he's going to die"...he was skiny and dirty and I said again "no, I want that one" . So, days later I took him to the vet and found out that he had ear mites, upper respirtory infection and an eye infection....he went from a horrible life to living "the life" and seems very happy witn his living conditions~
Bio:
Stinky was diagnosed with Diabetes in October, 2005...it was a little rough at the beginning but he is getting on track and he seems so much healthier and happer now~
Updated on 4.26.07...Stinky is having a tough year so far. He has been diagnosed with Hepatitus(a form in cats) basically he had a spot on his liver that was causing him some problems..he took antibiotics for ten days and hasn't had a problem since. Although, we're having a tough time regulating his blood sugars lately. So we're going through an insulin change and hoping it fixes the problem..8/27/07..Stinky has been on Lantus and still eating Purina DM...and it seems to be working for him(if he stays away from eating his sisters' food)
Updated 3/26/08. Stinky had to be put to sleep last night. It all happened so quickly. He was having trouble walking early in the day and couldn't get his back legs to work for him. He would pull himself around anywhere he would want to go and didn't look like he was in any pain. We went to the vet and the dr. said he has a blood clot, possibly more than one but he didn't know for sure. We started blood thinning medicine and took him home. He ate like a pig, scotted around and got loving from momma and everything seemed like it was going to be ok. Later that night, however, he started crying and panting. He couldn't get comfortable and was biting his back feet until they bled. We took him back to the vet and the dr. said he has alot of pain down his spine, into his back feet. He just cried and cried when you would touch him. There were other things the dr. discussed about nerve damage and such from his diabetes and that he wouldn't most likely recover from this. I didn't want to see him suffer and he was obviously in pain so we decided to allow him to cross over. He kissed my hand and laid there quitely like he always would. I feel I didn't give him a fair chance, but how fair would I be if he was in that much pain. I love him and miss him more than anything. He was my first child.
