Badges: Quick Bio:
 Coloration: Blue Smoke

Likes: She likes being loved the most. She would let you pet her forever if she had her way!

Pet-Peeves: Other cats being around her. She "puts up" with George and EJ, because they leave her alone. Ruby & Blue II are another story!

Favorite Toy: She'll play with almost any toy that you give her. Being retired she doesn't play as much now. She prefers being petted.

Favorite Nap Spot: Anywhere soft; a pillow, the couch, the easy chair, on my lap.

Favorite Food: Kit 'n Kaboodle, and Friskies.

Skills: She is fearless. Nothing scares her. Not even a stray dog that might get between her and her food and water.

Dwells:
indoors

Arrival Story: Queenie was my Father's cat for many years. She was a stray. She showed up at his apartment one day, and they were together from then on. She would come in once or twice a day to get her cat treats, but her food and water were kept on the porch, as she prefered to be an outdoor cat. In the fall of 2004 it was discovered that my Father had a cancerous brain tumor. It was glioblastoma, the most aggressive kind of cancer. Dad was in and out of the hospital. It was soon apparent that he would never be able to live on his own again, so he moved into our house. My husband and I were delighted to have Dad here his last few months. I hated to uproot Queenie from the neighborhood that she had always been in, but I brought her home with me so that Dad could at least have his cat here with him. Some days he recognized her, but most of the time he didn't know who she was. She stayed in his room while he was alive as I hoped that they could reconnect. He passed away on January 31, 2005. Queenie really missed him as much as we all did. She wanted to be outside, so I moved her outside and she took up residence in our garage. She got along fine out there for about a year. She was all by herself, and that was how she liked it. (Not that she wouldn't mind having some friends on Catster!) Against her wishes, I moved Queenie indoors just before it turned cold in the winter of 2005. Her arthritis had gotten worse, and I didn't want her to be exposed to the bitter cold outside. I told her that it was time for her to "retire." Before long she had adapted very well to being an "indoor" kitty. She still likes to be alone if possible. Her little sister Ruby likes to pick fights with her when they get together, so Queenie has taken up residence in our spare bedroom. Now that she has retired and is less active being indoors, she likes to nap alot. She still likes to play with me occasionally though. She has alot of love to give, and I hope that she will be with us for many years to come. She truly is a Queen!

Bio: Queenie was helped to the Rainbow Bridge yesterday January 13, 2009. Her arthritis had made it impossible for her to move about, and we could tell that she was in pain. Not wanting her to suffer, the decision was made. She went to sleep calmly and peacefully...she was classy right up to the end. Rest in peace sweet Queenie...
