Orange Tabby

Eating. He's a little chowhound, maybe because he was the runt of his litter.

Honestly, I can't really think of anything he doesn't like; he's very laid-back.

Favorite Toy:
His brother Tom Cullen!

Favorite Nap Spot:
In the cat bed on my desk, or in the recliner in my bedroom.

Favorite Food:
He'll eat most everything, he's not picky. He really like his nightly snack of Whiskas Tender Bites, which he shares with his brothers and sister.

Just the ability to be cute!

Arrival Story:
Sugarbutt was one of our foster kittens (his original name was "Sad Eyes"). He, along with his brother Tom Cullen (who we also adopted) and two other siblings stayed with us for about a month. Sugarbutt was far and away my favorite of the four, because he was the runt of the litter, and also a bit sickly (he had a problem with infected anal glands, o joy!). He was actually adopted by someone, and returned the next day because he was dripping blood from his butt. The vet diagnosed him with coccydia and he came back to stay with us until he was done with his medicine - which he had to take for two weeks. Of course, by the end of the two weeks, there was just no way I was going to let him go - and lucky for him (and me!), my husband had fallen in love with him as well and let me keep him.

The name "Sugarbutt" came about because when I first got him, his rectum was sticking out by almost an inch. We though he had a prolapsed rectum, and the shelter manager said that someone had told her that you could take a wet cloth, put some sugar on it, and hold it against the cat's behind, and that would help with the swelling. I tried it for several days and I don't know whether the sugar had anything to do with it, but matters improved a lot. And thus, the name "Sugarbutt." We think it fits him well. (By the way, he didn't actually have a prolapsed rectum, it was infected anal glands, and once those were squeezed and we gave him antibiotics, things became completely normal "back there.")
