Likes:
Spot's favorite things were whiskers on kittens and brown paper packages tied up with strings. NO-wait, those are MOM'S Favorite Things! Ooops. Spot loved to cuddle with his best friend, Spanky, sittin' in the sun, groomin' and cleanin', see last pics.

Pet-Peeves:
Spot didn't have much time to develop a "peeve", but he did hate taking his medicine! Who doesn't?

Favorite Toy:
Spot's favorite toy was Big Uncle Spanky, who he loved to chase up to the top of the Kitty Condo! And back down. Don't forget the String, Woo Hoo Lookout!

Favorite Nap Spot:
Top of Kitty Condo, where else?

Favorite Food:
He loved squishyNutroMax kitten food from a can, CHICKEN, and Felidae Dry Kitten Food.

Skills:
Spot was really good at "helping" me scoop the catboxes. Never missed a chance. Also, Spot was super talented in the Fly Catching Competition, as well as the Plastic Bag Attacking Category.

Dwells:
indoors

Arrival Story:
Spot was one of the babies that our sweet, adopted neighborhood stray, Stars, had on July11. Stars is now a full time resident in our home, as well as the rest of her brood. We lost one baby at birth, due to a birth defect (Stripe). The other four babies have been the healthiest, happiest, maniacs ever since. Spot showed signs of illness about a week ago.( 11/12/05) We had to say goodbye to Spot on 11/19/05. The Doctors and Staff at Woodland Vet Hospital were very kind and they did everything that they could to figure out what was wrong with him. They gently let us know when we couldn't help Spot anymore. I got to hold Spotty and say goodbye while he peacefully went to sleep.

Bio:
We hope to provide information regarding Spot's mysterious illness to anyone who is in our situation. Please contact us if you have any questions... not that we know anything, but we could share info-if your kitten has a mystery illness that first looks like FIP, but isn't. We thought it was FIP, but all signs (and tests) have pointed to that being negative. There is no definative test for FIP, however, only "educated guesses"! We don't know what made him so sick. He had an ongoing fever that wasn't helped by antibiotics. He had an abdomin full of viscous yellow fluid, that showed no obvious infection. He was a Shooting Star that brightened up our life for a very short time. The Angels are playing with him now...look out for that string...gotta get it, woah...where'd it go?!

A Prayer That Trancends Denomination

(A prayer by Saint Francis, Patron Saint of The Animals and The Environment : )

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred . . . let me sow love
Where there is injury . . . pardon
Where there is doubt . . . faith
Where there is despair . . .hope
Where there is darkness . . . light
Where there is sadness . . .joy
Divine Master,
grant that i may not so much seek
To be consoled . . .as to console
To be understood . . .as to understand,
To be loved . . . as to love
For it is in giving . . .that we receive,
It is in pardoning, that we are pardoned,
It is in dying . . .that we are born to eternal life

Spot is little, Spot is good
We'll miss him very much!
He just wants us to let him be
And not make such a fuss.
He loves to run and play with Scamp,
But now it's time to go.
It's hard for us to say "goodbye"...
We've barely said "hello".
