Arrival Story:
My fiancee and I adopted Sterling from her former owner whose life was changing and could no longer spend time with her. We already had Quimby, whose life has become complete since she came to live with us. We had been thinking about adopting a second cat to become a companion for Quimby, and when we saw a poster of this beautiful silver kitty who needed a new home...we instantly knew we should meet her. I even thought of her name, Sterling, that same day right after seeing the poster, and when we met her we felt it was right. Two more meetings and about a month later (Quimby needed an operation and recovery first) she was delivered to us by her former owner, who bid her a caring goodbye. The first 48 hours she hissed and meowed non-stop. We got no sleep at all and we reached a point when we almost decided it wasn't going to work out. She literally climbed the windows of the bedroom (her introductory living quarters) and she and Quimby hissed and scratched at each other through the space under the door. However, they both began to calm down late in the 3rd day and by the 4th they were gently batting each other's paws and we decided it was safe to let them meet face to face. It has been a playful and happy environment in our house since then!

Bio:
She was a stray kitten who was rescued, and due to an untreated ear infection she is almost completely deaf. This allows her to sit by calmly and even sleep while we vacuum, when Quimby gets scared and runs to find a place to hide. Nonetheless her other senses are normal to heightened--especially her taste.

Well, it's been a little over a month since I arrived on catster and I've really been enjoying it here. I've made a close-knit bunch of friends, and I have been getting lots of exposure to the wide world! My social life affords little time to write, but I will try to update you all more often!
