Arrival Story: Jasper the Linus was adopted at 6 weeks old. He was born on the side of the road by his wild mother. A nice little old lady went out to get her mail, and heard the kittens crying. She rescued them all and took them to the vet. While at the vet, Jasper's future Grandhuman overheard the nice little old lady talking about how the kittens needed to be adopted. Grandhuman talked to her about adopting one of the kittens because she was so sad. You see, GrandHuman and future Mommy were at the vet to euthanize their sweet cat Frankie, who was dying of leukemia. They were crying very hard, and wanted to adopt a new kitten right away to ease the pain and grief. The next day, Granduman and Jasper's new Mommy came to adopt him and bring him to his new home with his 1 year old sister. His life has been great ever since. Jasper has alot of opinions about society, and he's not afraid to share them. He loves Star Wars and dressing up as Lord Linus, he calls it. I guess it makes him feel powerful. We love the little guy, fish bowl drinking and all.
Bio: My name is Jasper the Linus. I luff you.
I am overweight and very proud of dat. My body is a beautiful golden color with stripes, and da belly is white. I luff food, and I luff my family. I love to be rubbed, brushed, and pet all day. I enjoy watching wildlife from my multiple viewing stations and my perch. I luff drinking polluted fish bowl water, the taste is heaven to me. I luff all my new friends and wish we could all play togetha out in da forest. You got to try da orange mushrooms, they make you see green monkeys climbing trees and fly like a butterfly. I am a feline Blimp pilot. Yes, I can fly Blimps. Just picture my cute little face and whiskers flying in the enormous Blimp. Lini Pilot.
My best friend is Dwight, a 30 pound fat cat, who eats mushrooms with me. I have my own diary, you gotta read dis!
I have wonderful parents and a beautiful feisty sister.
Sadly, Jasper the Linus passed away suddenly on Halloween 2007. We don't know why or how, just that we found him on the kitchen floor. he had a heart murmur since he was little, so it may have been that.
We miss our baby so much. Rest in peace our little man. You brought so much love and laughter into our lives and our little family.
We will always love you. :)
Forums Motto: Don't eva talk to me about my weight.
Imagine, if you will that it's nearly 2,000 years ago and you are viewing the manger scene in Bethlehem. Many kings and famous personages of the time have come to see the newborn babe and to bring gifts. After a while, the baby grows tired and weary. He begins to fret and cry, as all babies sometimes do. His lovely young mother, Mary, only a teen-ager herself, attempts to quiet him, but his crying continues. She holds and rocks him. She sings a lullaby. She dangles a brilliant ornament before him to capture his attention and stop his tears. Alas, none of her efforts hush the baby. His crying goes on.
While the anxious mother makes further unsuccessful attempts to soothe her upset child, a tabby cat quietly creeps into the stable. She sits a discreet distance from the cradle and begins to clean herself. Carefully and meticulously, she washes and grooms herself from the tip of her nose to the tip of her tail. When she's immaculate, without a single spot or smudge on her beautiful banded coat, she goes to Mary's side and rubs against her long blue robe. After the mother's acknowledgement of her presence, the tabby gently jumps to the foot of the cradle. The attention of the baby is drawn to the soft, furry creature in his bed. The crying wanes. The tabby carefully settles herself near the baby and begins to purr softly.
The magic of the murmuring sound completely quiets the infant. He is fascinated by it and extends his tiny hand toward the tabby cat. The mother's relief is great. Joyful to see her child happy again, she thanks the cat who befriended them. In appreciation of the tabby's kindness, Mary affectionately strokes the cat and then, with her index finger, traces her own initial on the purring animal's forehead. To this very day, every tabby cat in the world bears the letter "M" on it's forehead. The next time you see a tabby, look carefully and in it's beautiful head markings you'll discover Mary's initial. It's there. You'll find it.
Lini had a great weekend. You see, my parents left me for 2 days to go to a wedding far away. They left me the usual, tons of food, and fresh litter and a access to my perches and my porch. You see what dey didn't know is, Lini escaped! Yep, my Sister and I figured out a way to chew through the screen door in the porch.
A squirrel helped us by chewing from the outside. You see we bribed the squirrel because we had what he wanted, a BIG bag of bird seed. So he chewed from the outside and we ripped with our claws from the inside. My sister is little so she busted her body out before I did. After that we figured out how to open the door, and we were free! All weekend we did whatever we wanted! We explored the woods, the beach and da lake. I saw frogs and birds and bumblebees and ants. I got to eat tons of grass and then bring myself inside and throw up all over the floor several times.
It was so great because we could do whatever we wanted and nobody was the boss of us. On Sunday of course it was dark and my parents came home. They looked for me and started to freak out because Lini missing. They saw how we broke out and were horrified. I watched all dis from the trees, lurking and crowched down in secrecy.
Finally, I realized dat I missed them too, so I ran home fast! Daddy called me "lini, come home!" and I did, I ran home and into my parents arms. They hugged me and kissed me and thanked god a bunch of times. The fed us wet canned shredded salmon and we got brushed and rubbed and petted and kissed. It was a gweat weekendah. I can't wai tto di it again! Lini was free!
A special post for my special sister. When I was tiny, I thought she was my Mother. You see I was sooo tiny that I was still nursing off my Mommy. When I came to my new house, she nurtured me like I was her own son. She was only a baby herself, but she took care of me. She even let me suck on her teets, just for comfort, even though dare was no milk in dem. Well, over da years we became more like brother and sister, and at times husband and wife. We cuddle together and she cleans my coat for me. We luff each other very much.
I get jealous because she is allowed outside without her body on a rope, but I still luff her, and I always will. We talk about all kinds of things. Our favorite topic is trying to figure out what our parents are doing. She doesnt mind my affection for my Beaver either, which is nice because I can have my cake and eat it too. She loves to catch moths and birds. I have a preference for land dwelling animals like mice, personally. I am too fat and slwo to catch birds like she can.
here is me and my Sister, babygirl.
