mommys new blanket

For christmas Mommy got a new blanket. At first I paid no attention to it as I can't be bothered with these petty human things, but then I discovered that this blanket was different, it was softer, and squishier and just well better. I also have discovered that there is almost nothing in the world that makes me happier then to sit and knead mommys new blanket for hours. It relaxes me so that I actually fall asleep kneading it. I have decided this should be MY new blankie, but I suppose I can let mommy pretend it's hers for a bit longer.

A wonderful story about Tabby's

A friend shared with me a story about the Tabby cats that I thought was just wonderful. It goes a bit like this.

When the baby Jesus was born, all those many years ago in Bethlahem the night was cold and bleak. Mary and Joseph had taken shelter in a barn for the birth of the child as there was no room in the inn. As the night progressed and the winds grew colder and colder the barn was not warm enough for the tiny new savior. The child cried out in the dark and despite Mary's efforts to keep him warm it was just to cold. In the corner of the barn surveying all the wonderments the night had brough a tiny orange tabby cat sat. Seeing the new mothers concern for her cold child, the cat offered the baby jesus the one gift he had to give. The Tabby curled up with the child to offer him the soft thick comfort of his fur and body heat and began to purr. The tiny baby was now warm and soothed by the purring kitten. Mary tuched by the small creature reached down and stroked it forhead in thanks for it's selflessness. And from that day on, Tabby's have carried the mark of Mary on their forehead. As a sign of thanks for their part in the nativity.

Look closely and you can see the M on My forehead.

Turkey turkey day!

Thanksgiving happened. It was my first thanksgiving with the family. I mostly sat and surveyed my kingdom from my cat tree, making sure all was well and good. But as the merryment came to a close and the men were un doing their belts and setteling in to watch t.v. the human called PaPa, offered me a small snippit of food. This is very interesting to me, as only dogs beg, and I am much to much of a lady to every degrade myself in such a manner. So after a proper amount of disinterest I decided to take the humans offering and try it. Mmmmmmmmmmm turkey is good. It is moist and buttery and scrumptious. He gives me another piece. yes I think I like this turkey business. Another nibble is offered but it's different, it doesn't smell quite the same and it's a darker color. I debate this one and decide it is NOT for me. I am a white meat only cat. Tomorrow......... leftovers
