sitting on my husband's knee when he gets home from work, a visit from my outside cat, Elvis
having to leave the bedroom at night!
socks (clean or dirty--he doesn't mind!) & marshmallows!
Favorite Nap Spot:
he'll eat about anything, especially if you hand feed him. He loves ice!
tries to groom your eyelashes & eyebrows....even strangers!
My nephew found this little 1 day old kitten in a trash can. (Not put there by someone--they live in a very rural area) They called me....we waited a long time and the mother never returned, so I raised him on a bottle. Of course he is spoiled rotten now!
Sweet Pea is a very interesting kitty with some strange habits. I thought I'd share some with you...
*He love socks! He will collect pairs of socks and pile them up or play with them. More than once I have matched socks and left them in a basket in the laundry room over night. When I get up the next morning, Sweet Pea has gotten all the socks out and made a neat little pile in my studio!! Also, sometimes he'll cry to come in the bedroom at night. I'll open the bedroom door and he is standing there with a pair of socks in his mouth. He drops them at my feet and runs inside!
*He loves q-tips! I occasionally have to move them because he finds them and knocks the whole box in the floor. He sees them and reaches his paws inside trying to get them out. (When I see him staring at them and trying to reach them, I know it is time to move them while he isn't looking!) So, while I'm cleaning the bathroom he plays a little game. He sits on the shelf above the sink, I get a q-tip out of the box and put in on the shelf. He knocks it off, I pick it up, he knocks it off, etc, etc. Once he knocked a whole box of q-tips into the toilet and when he was little I had to buy a trash can with a lid because he would dig in the trash for them!! Yuck!!
*He loves to groom your eyebrows and eyelashes! Most people he wants to get at their eyebrows, some he wants their eyelashes. And he isn't gentle either, he will try to pull them out!!
*He has some funny ways of waking me. When he thinks it is time for me to get up, he sits on my chest, meows and tries to push my sleep mask up so he can groom my eyebrows! (Why do you think I started wearing a mask in the first place?) If that doesn't work he actually pulls my hair!!
*He loves to chase around & carry marshmallows. Not the big ones, only the little ones. I accidentally dropped one on the floor once and he had the best time with it. I thought he'd like the big ones, but he didn't. So, once in a while, I toss a miniature marshmallow on the floor and he will swat it around for hours!
*He likes to lick the condesation off your water bottle. My husband says that's gross, but its not like I drink out of that part!
* He thinks it is a treat when I pour a little bit of my bottled water into the lid and he drinks it out of the lid!!
Look at me!!

Good bye, Sweet Pea:
On March 19, 2009 we had to say good bye to Sweet Pea--it was the hardest thing I've ever had to do. Last Thursday he was fine, started to get sick Friday evening and by early Thursday morning, we knew we had to let him go. As hard as this is, I wouldn't trade my time with him for anything. He was our family, our friend. There are so many things about him I will miss and my heart breaks everytime I go into a room and he isn't there to greet me. He came to me on July 5, 2003 when he was one day old. I have always done anything for him and loved him with all my heart. He knew he was well-loved and my husband and I got to be with him until the very end. Although it was a shock and he was still young, I don't think I could have ever been prepared for this.
