Arrival Story:
One of my mother's employees came into work sneezing. Mom asked her what was wrong. She said that she'd adopted a cat. She had been lamenting to my mother that she couldn't get a cat because she was so allergic, so Mom asked her why she got one now. She said that when she went to pay her rent the previous night, her landlord was trying to stuff a kitten into the microwave. She grabbed the cat and ran off. Mom took the kitten home and said that she'd try to find a home for him, and I took him home with me.

Bio:
Tipsy's name is a result of some of his kitten behaviour. When he was younger, he used to rub up against phantom ankles. He would be in the middle of a room, with nothing for several feet on either side of him. Then he would arch his back and lean over like he was rubbing up against something. Sometimes he'd fall to the floor and look around in confusion, other times he'd continue walking on as if nothing out-of-the-ordinary had happened. Someone commented that he looked drunk, and thus he came to be named Tipsy. Tipsy is a well-travelled cat. He has lived in rural Michigan, Atlanta, and is now in Silicon Valley. Silicon Valley is definitely his favourite place, because there is lots of sunshine for him to snooze in. He especially likes that our current home has a balcony. The plants provide some shadows for when it gets too warm, but he rarely takes advantage of it. For all of the abuse that he suffered early on, Tipsy is very friendly. Any guests are here for Tipsy, and could not possibly be for the humans -- at least, not as far as Tipsy is concerned. He likes everyone, and is always happy to share a seat with anyone who is around. The FedEx guy is particularly fond of Tipsy, and always makes sure to scritch Tipsy when he delivers a package.
