Arrival Story:
Found her in a shelter at 13 weeks of age....she was the craziest kitten of the bunch and was the only one acting like a maniac on the kitty condos and mowing down the other kittens.... she had an incredible spirit, awesome personality and beautiful green eyes. Diagnosed with diabetes in Feb. 05, But is doing well on insulin. A proud member of Feline Diabetes.com. A GREAT site dedicated to helping cats with diabetes. She was diagnosed in January 2006 with "mild" kidney failure but is doing well on fluids 2 days a week. She still has great amounts of energy and is still a master at begging for treats! She is also still queen of the house and lets everyone there know it!! in Jan. 2009, Maisy's kidneys had gotten bad and she wasn't holding in fluids despite mine and the vets best efforts. she had also stopped eating and after about a week I made the painful decision to put her to sleep, she was suffering and it was terrible for me to see. I missed days of work to try to help her and stayed with her all day but it didn't help. it was just her time.. I took her to the Humane Society where I worked, and they gently put her to sleep with me there and I said my goodbyes, along with all my friends/co-workers and my hubby at her side. she was then taken to be cremated and she sits upon my kitchen table in a beautiful box with her picture and a clay imprint of her paw. :( the kitchen table was "her place" where she always laid and ate and basked under the lamp she loved. she is now at peace and in no more pain. Bless her, I love and miss her so much!
