Arrival Story: My second apartment at college, NSU in Natchitoches, Louisiana (Steel Magnolias city), I told my room mate I wanted to get a cat, now that I'm on my own. I came home one day and there he was. She went to the pound and picked him out and brought him home. His name was Bubba and he was a dorm cat. They said he did not like to go outside, which turned out to be wrong. In the dorm, you had to keep him in so you wouldn't get caught. Once Bubba discovered the outdoors, he LOVED it. He had so many girlfriend cats, even though he was fixed. He followed me down the drive way as I left for class, even jumping on the hood of the car until I would have to get out and put him in the house. He ended up sleeping in my room more so when I moved back home it was obvious he was going to be my cat and come with me. He did not like for my husband (then boyfriend) to come visit me and stay over. He would get in the closet and knock stuff off the shelves during the night. Sounded like there were burglars in the house. He did not like Mark at first, but grew to love him over the years after we were married.
He used up many of his nine lives. Was poisoned once, jumped out of a tree and dislocated his shoulder trying to escape two pit bull dogs. Cut his eye really bad when he was young too. He was a cool cat, very sweet and friendly. Loved his Bear cat, and after Bear passed on first, he was so sad and lost with out him. I know they are together now, snuggling up like they loved to do.

Bio: Bubba traveled quite a bit. He came camping one time, but almost got away at the campsite in Arkansas. He then moved to Nacogdoches, TX when I attended SFA. He got lost there and was missing for over a month. I thought he was gone, but he finally turned up, living down the street with some lady with several other cats. Then it was back to Louisiana. Then moved to Texas in 1990 and he lived there till he passed on in October of 2004. It was one week prior to our move to Georgia. We were worried about his health and how he was going to make the difficult move at his age (19 years old). God took care of that by making it his time to go.

Forums Motto: The Old Man with the hanging gut.
