Orange & White Tabby
Tammy loves to wander around checking everything out. Chin scritches and head rubs :)
Tammy hates to be picked up. She means no offense though, when you put her back down she immediately turns and rubs your legs and says prrrrup! She hates her meds!
Sadly, since her onset of epilepsy Tammy doesn't really play anymore :( She tries to paw something once if it is moving by her fast.
Favorite Nap Spot:
Tammy mostly sleeps on the floor. She doesn't like to be up on things. She likes to sleep on a faux sheep blankie under a dresser in her moms bedroom.
Crunchies crunchies and more crunchies. Tammy used to hate canned food but now she eats a little bit of canned for a treat. She now eats Performatrin Ultra crunchies.
Being nonchalant. Looking perpetually puzzled. Being brave.
After losing Shawnee, we were very nervous of getting another cat. We weren't looking for one at all. My mom and sister were at Pet Smart in Richmond Hill, Ontario and the Forgotten Ones Animal Rescue people were there for an adoption day. They called us and told us about the sweet orange and white tabby that was there purrrrring for a new home and she liked other cats and dogs. Well we have a few of those :o) When we saw her we knew we wanted her right away! We adopted her and let THE BOY name her. He liked the name Tammy and Sue is after my mom!
Tammy Sue was surrendered to the Forgotten Ones Rescue when her owners decided they didn't want the responsibility of her kittens after she got pregnant. She had 5 healthy kittens and they have all been adopted :o) We are so glad they gave her up because now she is ours! Shortly after we brought Tammy home she started having seizures and was diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy. She had several seizures that were difficult for the vet to get under control. She had to take heavy doses of valium. Now as of 2007 she is on phenobarbital and though she is not completely seizure free, she has them extremely rarely.
****UPDATE****Sweet Tammy's health began to get very bad over the past few months. We knew she wasn't happy. She didn't play. She didn't groom herself. She completely stopped using the litter box. Her sweet personality showed the brain damage she had suffered from the seizures. With sad and very heavy hearts we knew it was time to let her go. She went very peacefully, very gently, while we held her and spoke to her and told her how much we loved her. We are going to miss her every moment of every day. Have fun at the bridge sweetheart! Stretch those wings and fly! ****WOW! COTD July 23rd 2007 - THANK YOU CATSTER!!****

This has been a very busy few days for me! I think my meowmy needs to get me one of those PDA thingees so I can keep track of all the furiend requests, and sweet messages from so many wonderpurr kitties and the invites to groups with wonderful pawties and fun things to do :))
THEN, on top of all that, Catster made me COTD! How did a quiet little bridge kitty like me get so lucky! I have been so busy typing and answering messages, and I promise I am going to respond to every single one! I don't care how long it takes, the sweetness that I have been shown deserves that at the very least!!
I'm still a little wobbly with my wings, and have crash landed on a few clouds but I'm getting stronger and faster and soon I will be able to keep up with my sisfur Shawnee as she darts around the sky gathering stars.
I can play again! I haven't been able to do that in so long, I almost forgot how! A few swipes with my paw though, at an unsuspecting bridge butterfly and I was off and running! My eyes are clear! My thinking is sharp :) That butterfly might have gotten away this time but he'd better watch out for me!
I was peeking down between the clouds last night and saw my moms talking. They were thinking about the days when they first brought me home and how happy they were when they found a sweet orangie baby like me.
How I used to chirp and chortle when I was curious about something.
How I loved to have my chin scritched and slowly over the past 2 years learned to trust them and allow them to pick me up for short periods of time.
I was never a snuggly kitty, but where ever my moms were in the house, that was where I wanted to be too. I would follow them and get underfoot and they would say 'OH Tammy' and bend down to scritch my chin and smile. They aren't smiling much now, I know they miss me so much and are still doubting that they did the right thing. I need to let them know that they did, and I am happy and strong. Thank you all, for supporting them, and telling them you understand and that you care and have been there. It means so much to them!
Thank you furiends and furmily and thank you CATSTER for making me COTD!
hugssss and purrrrrrrrrs from Tammy

Thank you Memory of Muffin for sending this to my moms.
HELD IN MY HEART
When I first held you in my hands and looked into the eyes of love
My heart filled with wonder that someone so small could fill my life with so much
Love and happiness. I watched you grow from an adorable furry kitten to a regal Queen
We bonded in the twinkle of a glowing star and that bond will always join us by a silver thread
My hands and arms had to let you go for now, but you are forever held in my heart
I see you sunning yourself in the warmth of the sun and you feel the kisses I send
On the rays of the sun. Until we are one again I give you my heart to hold, and soul to touch
With these hands I will reach out to you and gather you close and never let you go,
Until then I send you hugs on the colours of the Rainbow. Love always your Mamma

A kitty named Suleiman sent this to me today, and I love it....
Poem For Cats
And God asked the feline spirit
Are you ready to come home?
Oh, yes, quite so, replied the precious soul
And, as a cat, you know I am most able
To decide anything for myself.
Are you coming then? asked God.
Soon, replied the whiskered angel
But I must come slowly
For my human friends are troubled
For you see, they need me, quite certainly.
But don't they understand? asked God
That you'll never leave them?
That your souls are intertwined. For all eternity?
That nothing is created or destroyed?
It just is....forever and ever and ever.
Eventually they will understand,
Replied the glorious cat
For I will whisper into their hearts
That I am always with them
I just am....forever and ever and ever.
