Arrival Story:
Just before I graduated from college, I was walking through a mall with my then-boyfriend (now-husband). We wandered past a pet store that had a litter of kittens in one of those multi-level cages outside its door. Of course, I stopped to look, and among the black-and-whites and tabbies was one beautiful steel-gray kitten. I pointed him out to my husband, saying "Look how beautiful he is!" We asked the store clerk about the kittens...a local farmer had brought them in. Even though I already had a cat (Kamikaze) and I was getting ready to graduate and move to California to do my master's degree, my husband insisted on buying this kitten for me. It was an impulse decision, but I took him home. I have never regretted it, because even though Kamikaze was horrendously offended by Imo's presence at first, they are now the best of friends and totally inseparable.

Bio:
Imo is one of those totally accepting cats. He really is not very bright, but you can do anything to him without a struggle. He was diagnosed with a heart condition when he was four, and now has to take a pill every day--and anyone can give him his pill without even holding on to him. Just reach down, pop his mouth open, and he swallows it! When he goes to get ultrasounds for his heart, they don't even sedate him. I can just stretch him out on the table, hold him down, and the cardiologist slathers the gel on his chest and goes to work. Imo doesn't make a sound, doesn't bite, doesn't scratch...I would swear he's part ragdoll if I didn't know any better! My husky Nayana loves him...she'll knock him over with her nose, wrap her jaws around his middle, and push him around the kitchen floor while he wraps his front paws around her nose and hangs on!
