I'm still skinny.

Last time I was there, the vet said I was doing better. Mom just wishes I would gain more weight and get more "back to normal." My little belly used to be a pooch, but not any more. Yes, I'm a skitterish cat. The vet says sometimes that will do it. We have lived in our new house for over a year now, though, and the newness should have worn off by now. My brothercat doesn't bother me much any more. The crazy little preschooler boy doesn't really bother me much either. I just hope I can get fat again!

I *heart* kitten food!

The doctor ordered that I get kitten food for the next two months to see if I can gain any weight back. It's good news that I don't have feline leukemia or renal problems and that my white blood cell count is back up, so I apparently don't have any infections. So why am I so skinny? Just shy of running a bunch of more expensive tests, I'm supposed to eat all the fattening food I can for 60 days (yummy)! Let's hope this works.

My mom is worried about me. I'm a lot smaller than I used to be, although I find my svelte stomach to be very attractive. Sure, I get sick when I eat too much, but the vet says he can't find anything wrong with me. If my mother only knew all the stuff that I experienced when I was "on the streets," she'd know I've been through the school of hard knocks. No wonder I'm not 100! I hope I feel better soon (and so does she).

So not fair!

Mom just noticed that I did not have one single diary entry for ALL of last year. WTH??? I have just as much to say as those other two. Perhaps it doesn't pay to be the slick one of the bunch. I lay low, stay out of the kid's way, and pretty much fade into the background. Sure, I get on the cabinets when nobody is watching and eat the dumb dog's food when I can, but those are no crimes. Quiet kitties unite!

I resent that accusation!

It was not I who gave Mom ringworm. Char is the one with the nasty mouth. I defy the people doctor to PROVE that cats licking humans will transfer infectious bacteria. And then to go so far as to say keeping us away from the baby won't matter because we are probably currently sleeping in his bed anyway. (How did he know???) How dare he!

We have a new little baby at our house who turned three months old yesterday. I consider him my very own charge. When he cries in the night, I am right there to see what is the matter. We would all sit together for bottle feedings when it was colder in the house several weeks ago. Everyone has gotten pretty used to his crying now, but I don't mind it so much. I treat him like my very own little kitten.

My grandma got me a great gift this year. It's called the "magnet," and it really fits the reputation. All I do is lay on it on the bed or the chair all day, but I love it more than anything. It's a nice soft pad that scritches when I stretch out my claws on it. Ahhh...the good life.

I'm in trouble

The mom was really bugging me with all that rough petting she does, so my warning with a swift scratch did not set well with her at all. The big red scratch on her arm is starting to go away, but she's not too happy with me right now. I'll have to do a lot more sucking up to her to get back in her good graces. That pretty much rules out the scraps of people food for a while, too.

Why do they submit me to this?

I hate that dog! His very presence in my house disturbs me greatly. He is forever walking by wherever I am just to bug me. Maybe the other cat and I can scheme to have him permanently banned to the outside.

I've really been sucking up to the dad to get what I want. His lap is pretty warm when he's checking email from the computer chair. So me curling up there and purring a lot lately surely helps my cause.

My bravery to approach the bed at night with that dispicable dog in it is amazing!
