Arrival Story:
I help out at the Oslo RSPCA. Maud, or Desiree then, came into us as a half grown kitten. She had somehow surived a frigid winter abandoned outside despite her young age. She was all skin and bone, with very little fur. She was only covered in thin, white wisps. She got sterilized almost immediately, eventhough she was very weak. That shouldn't have happened. That made her so weak she refused to eat. We all tried hand feeding her, but we wer'nt getting anywhere. So I took her home with me to give her some tlc. you know the rest of the story. We couldn't give her up. She has certainly grown with us. Both physically and mentally. It took her many years to trust us. She didn't want to bond with any of the family. She didn't make eye contact. But she seemed happy. Then one day she seemed to understand that we wern't going to kick her out. That we loved her, and that this was her home. She has turned into he sweetest girl (the other cats don't agree with this statement). She loves being on your lap. and purrs and purrs. She still sleeps around the plants when she gets insecure-that is probaly how she kept warm as a baby that awful winter. She keeps an eye on any strays that come or way. She tells us when they are outside waiting for dinner, keeping an eye on us, and them.

Bio:
She is a sweetie. it took her a long time to bond with us. I think she was afraid to get close to us incase we would throw her out like her old owners. BUt thankfully she finally bonded, it only took 2-3 years. We love her very much, and it is a real treat to hear her purr. She deserves to be warm, happy, have a full tummy,and be loved. She always tells us when there is a kitty outisde who needs food. She watches over them, like she remembers her former life. We have a little group we feed and look after, but who are too scared to capture or rehome. Maud always shows concern for our outside children!
