Arrival Story:
We have been considering getting a puppy for some time. Just when we were ready to get one, our neighbour's dog passed away. We felt it would be extremely bad taste to get a dog, so we waited. The wait became very hard to bear. And I also wanted a kitten. So I looked through the classified adverts and found this kitten, who lived nearest to me.
I was slightly disappointed when I first saw her, as I had wanted a tabby kitten, but she was black and white. But she was in good health, cautious but not fearfull, lively but not hyper. I felt I would be making a mistake if I passed her up for a sick tabby. So I took her home.
From day one she has been a feisty, dignified, proud little cat. When we got home, I put out food, a bed, and had a litter tray for her. At first she was confused, then later she settled and used the litter tray like an angel.
Bio:
Chanel's coat can be classified as either "tuxedo" or "piebald number 4". But how many cats have you seen born with a milk moustache? At the very beginning, her Russian owners gave her the name that sounded something like "Muirrsha". By the second day we decided that we didn't like the name. As she has VERY pink lips (and so were her pads), I suggested "Chanel". And the name stuck.

Kitty-shan, my furry cat.... I wish you were here so you could beat up "Fat-Dex" for stealing the babies' food!!
Usually he has a quiet word with the babies and they walk away from their dishes - and he gets to eat their food. He does it so quietly now I can't always get the kitten food away from him.
I know he tried this with you but you showed him who is boss... until the kidney troubles got too much. You fought a good fight, my brave little girl.
