He's staying. The new dog, that is.
Not that I'm not glad or anything, but I just thought it was obvious.
After all, I approved from the get-go. How could I not approve? I get to blame him for everything. Something falls, it's Max's fault. A human squeals, It's Max's fault. There's a big noise, it's Max's fault.
I always come running, puffed up, ready to strike a fatal blow...well, maybe not a fatal blow, otherwise he wouldn't be around to swat again, but you get the idea.
Ummmmmm, contentment is a warm patch of sunshine, my "goofy dog" toy to play with, a real goofy dog to boss around, and Cati to rescue me if I get in over my head with him.
Life is so good.

Two dogs to one cat might make one shudder. Not me.
See, while the dogs are busy settling a dispute like, who sits on which side of the human on the sofa, I simply jump onto the sofa and dare either one to come up. I am rewarded with my folks saying things like, "Oh hello Scooter," and "Oooooh she's sooo soft!" Then my fur gets rubbed, my chin gets scratched, all that neat stuff. The dogs meanwhile, sit on the floor and grumble.
Having two dogs in the house is great for helping keep my litterbox clean, too.
Yes, I think I like this two dog scenario. Plus I've still got the new guy totally buffaloed, and anytime he gets outta line with me, if I'm not fast enough, Cati comes to my rescue.
Girl power, baby. Girl power.

I couldn't believe my eyes at first.
The humans had left and they had taken Cati with them. When I heard them return, I turned a corner to greet them and ran smack into the dog. I assumed it was Cati, but I was wrong. BOY was I wrong!
It was another dog! It looked so much like Cati, but it wasn't Cati and I didn't know what to do at first, run, slap, hiss. What to do, what to do? Then all of a sudden it dawned on me-- this dog was another Corgi and it wouldn't eat me!
That revalation was so inspiring. The dog won't eat me.
Whatever I do.
The dog won't eat me.
Ha ha.
This is just too good to be true.

Loud noises.
If a person walks down the road she barks.
If the wind blows, she barks.
If a cake falls, she barks.
Now there are cows in the field and she barks all day.
Can't she understand the beauty of quiet? Lovely sunshine to sparkle on your fur, a warm saucer of cream, birds to dream of catching and tearing apart... No. She barks, and barks, and barks.
I put my ears back and slink off to my windowsil. I don't bark. I don't even meow loudly. I am a lady. Grace and beauty follow me wherever I go. I have even trained the humans to sing to me as they bring me my meals. I bat them gently on the eyes when I want to wake them. I knead their stomachs when they lie down. I gently purr and stretch on the sofa so they can enjoy how graceful and beautiful I am.
I don't rattle the windows by barking.
So unladylike. So uncouth.

I can't believe I survived again, but I did! I managed not to get killed by the company or the Christmas tree or smothered by wrapping paper or anything!
I don't know why the people can't celebrate Christmas quietly. Read the Christmas story, eat a nice meal and be thankful. But no! Not my people! They've got to sing and shout and have guests and make loud noises and be excited. You know, when I was safely hidden behind and under the Christmas tree, they started pulling the presents out from under it, so I had to run for my life!
Christmas is wonderful, but the way my people celebrate it is really scary.

I connected!
I drew blood!
I nearly whacked the dog's nose off!
I'm the greatest!
I'm fierce!
I'm on top of the world!
I'm kinda scared.
She's gonna try to pay me back, I just know it. I'll be asleep in my favorite sunny spot, and it'll come..."arfarfarfarfarfarfarf!" sounding worse than an ambulance siren.
I think I've started something...oh no. Here she comes...

Took her long enough. I kept checking back and checking back. FINALLY she put the lights under it - last thing.
See, when mom does the Christmas tree, she puts lights under the tree skirt. She says it looks pretty, but I say it looks prettier when I'm lying on the skirt with the lights on underneath me. Puls it's sooooooo warm and cozy! Almost like my sunny spots, only I don't have to chase the tree 'round the room like I do the sunny spots. Mmmmmmmmm!
It's also neat 'cause that's the one place in the house where Ace doesn't mind me sleeping AND the branches are so low, Cati can't get to me without getting her ears full of pine branches!
I just love Christmastime.

The people do it every year about this time and I don't know why but I'm sure it's a good idea for me to hide under the sofa or the bed or somewhere because, well, you just never KNOW, do you?
We'll have company in a few days, I can tell, and there will be lots of food, but I'll be too scared to eat any of it, and then they'll start hanging stuff all over the house, and, and, and...
But I like it when they bring in the tree. Mom puts lights under the tree skirt and I go sleep on the skirt with the lights under it and I look so beautiful like that. Plus it's warm. Mmmmmmmmmmmm.
OH! Mom just moved the sofa! Is there NO place safe for me??????
