Arrival Story: I went to the local shelter one day at lunch (which I know I shouldn't do) and was browsing the cat cages. I saw Sophie and noticed how beautiful she was. The volunteer at the shelter said she was a sweetheart, and had been at the shelter for 6 months. She had been surrendered TWICE. I immediately knew I had to adopt her. If I could have gotten away with taking her home that day, I would have, but I had to go back to work.
I was on vacation two days later and right at noon (when the shelter was open), I was there to adopt her. The rest is history.
Bio: I'm not sure of where Sophie lived before her home here, but it must have been full of small children and loud noises. She is very timid and afraid of quick movements and scary sounds. Every day she gets more relaxed and is even tolerating my other cat. They can usually be found sleeping together on my bed. In the short time since we've had her, her fur and skin have become much more healthier and she even meows now and again.
