Skills: He's got a bionic nose that can sniff out an unopened bag of catfood anywhere and he always figures out how to get in it to snack if I don't lock it up.
Arrival Story: I moved to San Diego in 2003 and became friends with a girl named Crystal. When she found out I loved cats, she told me I should take her cat Mac. She had a 1 yr old son and said she no longer wanted Mac, which I thought was pretty messed up because you can't get a kitten and then trade him in when he's 2 just because you had a baby. I already had 3 cats and didn't really want another one, esp. not a full grown cat so I politely declined. She kept pushing me to take Mac and one weekend she said if I didn't take Mac, she was taking him to the pound. I was afraid he wouldn't get adopted since he was older and rather big (everyone wants kittens) so I took him in. Amber and Travis were cool with him but Ajaxx flipped out. He was so mad that I brought another male into the home! But he remedied that by starting a fight to show his dominance. So now Ajaxx is the alpha male and Mac is the alpha beta male. Even though I didn't really want another cat, we love having Mac in our family. He's a pretty good cat most of the time (but has been kind of naughty in recent months in marking his territory) & I'm glad we were able to give him a good home. Crystal saw him a while after I'd taken him in & she was amazed at how he was thriving in our home. Mac is very thankful to have a good owner now!!!
Bio: I gave all of my cats middle names of various saints (they're Catholic/Lutheran kitties) & I wasn't so crazy about the name Mac & tried to rename him but he responds so well to Mac that I left it & decided his "new" name would be Matthew Andrew Charles - 3 saint names!
