indoors and outdoors Arrival Story: Skeeter adopted us. After the family she was living with across the street moved away without her, she came to our house looking for food. She walked right inside and ate her lunch, and sat by the food bowl for hours at first. When she knew her food supply was not going to disappear or be taken away, she began exploring her new home. Bio: Before Skeeter adopted us, I had seen her across the street. The family that lived there had a kiddie pool in the front yard and I would always see Skeeter drinking water out of it. Poor Skeeter used to always cry at their front door but they didnt pay much attention to her. One time she was sitting on their front porch when they got home. She immediately got up and went to meet them and meowed at them but they just saw her and went inside. I was not surprised when they moved away and left her behind, but Im glad that they did because now she is part of a family that loves and cares for her very much. I remember Skeeters little fur was dirty and rough when she first started coming over to our house for food. I think it was probably because of a nutritional deficiency. She now has a very shiny and soft coat, and she looks amazing! Well we finally got my most recent video uploaded. Mom took this video of me a few days ago and you can see how my head tilts to the right. Especially around 45 seconds.
Im doing okay. I napped on the porch this afternoon, ate as usual, and ran past Dad and got out. Of course Mom saw and she growled at Dad and she ran outside and picked me up and brought me in.
Well not much going on tonight. Its quiet and the weather is really weird. Its cold and we heard on the news that it snowed just to the north of us. Lucky for me and my family we have a nice warm house to curl up in.
If it wasnt for my head tilt, I would be back to normal. (except I still cant jump up on the fridge, or on the counters. The highest I can jump is the couch. )
I even did a little running today and a few times this week, and I enjoy my food and water as much as ever. And, being the refined lady kitty that I am, I still continue to use my litterbox as carefully as always. Im also almost done with all my medication! Yay!
Oh and Mom shot a video of me that shows my head tilt. She needs to upload it to my page, but is having a hard time with the new program. ((((sigh))))
Mom is kinda technology-challenged.
Yesterday I ran out the front door and today I tried to pounce on Happy. I was also standing on my two feet and scratching the kitchen table legs! Then when I was in the front porch, I stood up again on my two feet to look out the glass door. Right now, Im sitting by an open window taking in the cool spring air.
I eat everything Mom feeds me, and drink as usual. No weird poop or peepee either!
But my head still tilts to one side. Its not as crooked as before, but Im not standing straight either. Mom noticed that I can walk in a straight line and even run a little bit without losing my balance. (at first, I fell a couple of times, I got so dizzy).
My friend Black Jack told me he had vestibular syndrome at one time and he got through it okay. I bet thats what I have too! I have all the symptoms.
