Black and White

Penelope loves lying in the sun and being outdoors. However, she will not go outside during the Winter and can often be found sitting in front of the heater vents in our living room!

not being allowed to go outside, her nemesis: Ross the Squirrel

Favorite Toy:
plastic balls, or bouncy balls

Favorite Nap Spot:
On the arm of the sofa! She drapes herself and looks like a blanket. She sleeps with her head hanging over the edge of the sofa arm. We say she is 'doing the Snoopy' when she sleeps like that because she reminds us of Snoopy hanging from his doghouse.

Favorite Food:
She enjoys wet food, any kind, but she is fed Cat Chow Indoor formula

she will knock on the window to be let outside. She is the President of Porch Club

indoors and outdoors

Arrival Story:
Little Penelope was given to me by a patient at the drs office where I used to work. She was born a rural barn cat and is now a beloved member of my feline flock.

Penelope chirps and doesnt meow. Her fur is very soft and fine, and she is bunny like. She also has a stump for a tail. She goes in and out of the house at least a dozen times a day...she'll scratch the window to go out, so she goes out. 5 minutes later shes I let her in. then 5 minutes later shes scratching the window to go out again..and on and on!

Let Me Out Please !!!!

I AM NOT SURE whats going on with Mom.

For as long as I can remember, I have been allowed to go outside and play as soon as the weather is warm. This year its different though. Mom doesnt let me go outside as much as I would like and Im really frustrated and feel like IM going to cry.

I scratch at doors and windows until someone lets me out. I thought I had it made when dad let me out, but then Mom came outside after me and she picked me up and brought me back inside. She's lucky I dont run away from her but Im really thinking about making a run for the bushes next time she tries to take me back inside the house.

I just dont understand why all of a sudden I am being treated like if I was a 3 month old kitten when I am a 7 year old cat !!!!!!!

Actually, its an old picture, from 2001. I forgot we had that picture. It was a happy day. It shows me, ALvin II and Scooter sitting on Dad's chair. I remember we were sitting around talking about Spring because we wanted to go outside but Mom said no, its still too cold.
We were still happy though.

What is Porch Club?

This is a FAQ.

Porch Club is a club for critters and I am the President. We have a total of 9 feline members, 14 church mice, 2 puppies and a squirrel in our club. We meet twice a month during the winter and once a week during the summer because our headquarters are located on the front porch and we are at the mercy of The Weather.
Our mission is to make our neighborhood a better place for all critters. We have installed several bird baths and feeding stations for our feathered friends and we also feed the squirrels. Twice a year we have fund raisers such as bake sales so we can have money to buy sweaters for our puppy friends.

Porch Club was founded in 2001 and we started off with only 3 feline members and one squirrel. We have come a very long way.

We welcome your comments and suggestions.
