6-Month Update

I've been in my new home for six months now. There's only one thing standing between me and world domination: Maggie. She thinks she's the empress of the universe. Wrong! I keep trying to talk sense into her, but she just doesn't get it.

I'm still learning about extended family. A couple weeks ago my "nephews" (who knew I had a brother named Dave?!) came for a visit. The oldest one -- Mom said he's "3" -- chased me around the house until I finally got smart and dove under the bed. It wouldn't have been so bad if my Mom -- my own mother! -- hadn't been cheering the little guy on. How humiliating! Most of the time, though, it's good to have a family. Even if they sometimes laugh at you, they still love you and take care of you.

Six months out of the dumpster. Yup, I've landed in a good place.

Four Month Check - In

I've been in my new home for four months. The training of the humans has its ups and downs. On the up-side, my Mom now knows to catch me when I jump into her arms and to hold and love me. On the downside, they are still pandering to Maggie, and still calling me "fat b*tt." Beyond that, things are going well. I've learned a few things in my time here, which I freely pass on to kittens who come behind me: 1) the outside is over-rated; 2) orange cats can be snots; 3) yogurt is not a kitty delicacy; 4) chasing wrinkles in the bed at 3:00 am is not considered cute and endearing by humans; 5) collars are a pain in the patoot but they also mean that someone cares about you; 6) it's nice to be held and cuddled and loved; 7) a full food bowl is not only a thing of beauty, it's a purrsonal challenge!

Yup. I'm probably gonna stay awhile.

3 Months and Counting!

I've been in my new home for 3 months and one day: Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Thanksgiving was good, with all the food and my human brothers and new sister-in-law coming to visit, but Christmas was even better. Two words: catnip mice! And, I got my very own futon. OK, I have to share with Maggie.

Mom and Dad put the futon upstairs in the "TV room." After they got it all put together and put bedding on it, Mom picked me and Mags up and put us on it and said, "Here, just for you." Yessssssssssssssss! My own futon, just what I always wanted. And to think that just a few months ago I didn't even know what a futon was!

There is only one problem here in paradise: Dad keeps saying a certain four letter word to me. Even Mom agrees. They pick me up and say, "Gordo, you are one fat cat, buddy. You need to go on a DIET!"

2 month check in

I've been in my new home for a little over two months now, and what an eventful two months they've been! I'm still trying to train the humans to stop saying bad words like "No!" And I'm still dealing with the ficus issue. Other than that, my plan to take over the world beginning with the parsonage is proceeding more or less on schedule. Thanksgiving was wonderful in that regard. I found out I have another human brother named Drew. Drew came home from school for the holiday and liked me! He said, "I'd take you home if I could have a kitty on campus." More importantly, he said, "I think we should call you Ptolemy. Wasn't he an Egyptian god or something?" Me! An Egyptian god! How great is that?! (Maggie-spoil-sport says Ptolemy wasn't a god at all, but someone who got the order of the universe wrong. What does she know?)

The next big thing is Christmas. I'm not sure what that is, but I'm looking forward to it. Mom said something about putting a tree in the living room. I think that's a splendid idea! I absolutely love climbing trees.

New Kid on the Block

I've been in my new home for over a month now, and what a month it's been! My first mother had to go away and someone was supposed to look after me, but I got lonely. So I went next door to the church and people were nice to me. The kids gave me milk and picked me up and held me. After everyone left, I was all by myself and a nice lady came and picked me up and fed me. We went door to door in the neighborhood looking for my family, but no one claimed me. The lady became my new mom. My first mom found out and called, saying she would be home for me. But she called again later, and said she didn't know when she would be back. She said I could stay in my new home. Forever!

It's a great place, except for the "big" cat, Maggie. Maggie does not like me! That's the bad part. The good part is that she has the best toys! I'm hoping someday Maggie will like me. In the meantime, I'm simply going to enjoy her toys!
