I am doing so much better these days. I have tripled my weight and am apparently "acting like a normal kitten". That's how my mom puts it anyway. My eye is still funny looking because apparently there is a thin film over it. I can see out of it but not that well and mom says I need eye surgery to remove it. ahhhhhhh!!! I also will need whats left of my back leg amputated. I am only missing the foot and eventhough mom tells me not to I keep using the rest of my leg anyway. The vet said this could effect me in the future. The way I walks and my back are at risk. It's hard cause I still feel the muscle in the leg therefore I try to use it. my mom is sad. she'll miss when I run kinda sideways. But aside from all of that I'm great. I'm quite an attack kitty...preferences in toe and ankle biting. I hear "ouch" alot. What does that mean? Sometimes mom lets me play with this funny looking cat named zoe. She's furry like me...but really long. I heard the word ferret here and there. Anyway...I chase her all over the apartment. Then she chases me. It's so much fun. then i get exhausted...which mom calls my " sweet side " cause thats when I get "snuggly" . She's so weird sometimes.

"Journal entry from the night I found Popeye. Aug 27, 2005 "So I’m in my bathroom on Saturday night getting ready to head up to San Francisco. In the middle of applying way too much mascara I heard this little squeaking noise. It was coming from outside and almost sounded like a little kitten. I looked outside and there in the gutter was the most precious little bean of a kitten. It was tiny...FREAKING TINY! I knew that it was much too little to be out on its own. when I got really close I started to get sad. I saw that both eyes were crusted completely shut as well as both nostrils. It was just walking feeling its way around. it was shivering, shaking like a leaf. I ran in the house and grabbed a towel to wrap it in. instantly fell asleep. Poor wee soul. I drove to petco because it was too late to take it to any humane society or dumb friends league. I went in and the lady said it was about 3 weeks old and was probably abandoned by her mother. The we saw that there were only 3 legs. I hadn’t even noticed that. This precious little thing had a nub for a back leg. *sigh* how deep is my love now you ask? I want this little scrapper forever! So she tells me that this kitten is VERY malnourished and NEEDS to be taken care of. So I bought kitten formula, a kitty carrier, flea shampoo for puppies and kitties, flea comb and a bottle. I gave it a bath, pulled over 90-100 fleas off this poor thing. wiped all those crusties away. Even though its eyes still remained closed. I tried feeding it...wasn't having it. was just exhausted...So I wrapped it up like a little burrito and put it in the crate. It slept like an angel. The next morning it ate 2 ounces. Then another ounce that evening. Today I took it to the vet and they confirmed that "it" was a little boy. He has a respiratory infection and both eyes are infected as well. In fact...the vet thinks that the left one may be no good. The right one is fully open and beautiful...but the other is not. When he tried to open it the eyelids were stuck together. Then he noticed a dent by that eye. He think something or someone hit him in the head causing the eye not to work. It might have to be removed. But the vet assured me that I can bring him back to health myself. And of course I am keeping him away from my animals. What he has is airborne and highly contagious. Don't want Buffy and Frank to get sickypoo. I keep him in the garage which rocks because it's nice and toasty for him. Today he ate 2 ounces in the morning again. One in the afternoon and half of one before his bed time. I've been giving him the amoxicillin and eye drops the vet gave me. you wouldn't believe the difference. He's doing so much better. He's my little diamond in the rough..."
