Arrival Story:
Ok..Here's Stripes story...I believe he is a remainder of the tabbys that where dropped off with KC..maybe even his father? He came and went ever since I've had KC..just came to eat then headed to the woods. That's two years. There's so much to tell but I'll shorten it. Last summer for some reason he moved "in" on the porch and the dog house. He's a tough bugger and I think middle aged..and beautiful. He fought a lot with any cat that came around especially a scraggly grey long hair that came to eat..they really got in to it. I felt so sorry for the grey he was thin and his fur was tangled..but he was untouchable...just wanted to eat and left...well he stopped coming this summer..I felt really bad...anyway back to Stripe..he got into a bad fight and had a bad bite wound on his neck and he had an eye infection...So..I hadn't adopted him..just feeding him... but I had to take him to the vet...he was sooo scared...I picked him up quickly with a big bath towel to protect myself...when the vet went to examine him he got so scared he peed all over the place... Anyway...the vet kept him for a couple of days to give him interveness antibiotics and I went ahead and had had him neutered too...When I bought him home he went back on the porch..because he has a nasty temper and I couldn't trust him around my other cats...So he's all better...and lives on my porch...I want soo much to bring him in... he spent last winter outside...I put lots of hay in the dog house and it has a flap ..and is very well insulated. (my late huskys house) But it still makes me feel bad..what to do..could I trust him to find him a home...I let Stripe come inside this winter..I just couldn't stand the thought of leaving him out in the cold another winter...I just opened the door and said okay you can come in and in he came... He's been in since the end of September 2005.. and it's now February 26, 2006. I was so afraid he would be mean to my other cats...but to my suprise he is very docile and if any cat approaches him growling he just backs off...so far everyone is adjusting..but he is still the new guy..Button especially is grumpy at him..but she's the oldest and completely attached to me and jealous..but she wouldn't fight just growls and puts up a fuss. Stripe has settled in and is very happy just to eat and sleep on nice soft beds and couches where it's warm and cozy... . Stripe has been living inside ever since I left him in. In April 2007 he began pawing at his mouth and shaking his head and crying out when he ate...I knew it was a bad tooth even though I didn't try to open his mouth...So it was off to the Vet...He had a really bad inflamed tooth and his gums were infected...He stayed at the Vet for a few days to get operated on and get antibiotics.. Then he came home and had to be on antibiotics for a week...he got real sick with his respiratory trouble...and I was worried...but in a couple of weeks he was fine...all better...But Wow...the Vet bill was $240.00....So far he is my five hundred dollar cat!!! counting the first time he went to the Vet...But I love him...He's worth it and more!

Bio:
All the information I put up about his birthday and weight and I just now made up...I'm pretty sure he weighs at least 16 pounds he is quite big and has beautiful marking..stripes on top and swirls on his sides. Stripe isn't feral..he's just been on his own so long he's set in his ways..he does let you pet him for a while and scratch his head and ears..and does rub on your legs...but when he's had enough he lets you know it.

I'm in Heaven Now......

My human wanted my page to stay on here a a tribute to me....
In spite of all she did and the vet did...I passed away on
November 17,2010....I will be missed soo much by my brother
and sisters and my humans...I was the bravest cat anyone has
ever met...and I will never be forgotten...
Stripe...

 

Sorry I took so long to write...but the news is bad and- good..............

My human was so torn about my swollen leg...it didn't seem
to bother me and I was eating and purring and chirping and
doing regular cat stuff...and she didn't want to put me
through all that misery of surgery and medicine and healing.
She decided today to take me in and get the Vets opinion...
My poor other leg..not the original swollen one... was very
swollen and red on one side....Well the Vet..who
is very nice and the lady Vet..who I really like..checked me
really well...and the news is..wait....He said I was older
and my heart is beating iregular and surgery would be very
hard on me and I might not make it....So he took a picture
of my swollen leg and I have to go back in two weeks and see
if there are any changes...He said if it should break open
(Oh My..I hope not) that I would not bleed to death..and my
human should wrap me in a towel and call him and take me
right over to him.....My other leg that I had surgery on
he said it was swollen from scar tissue and not to worry
about it....So we'll just wait and hope the swelling goes
down on it's own...I know my human prays for me every night..
and now it's just a waiting game....

It's My Birthday...Gee

First I want to thank everyone who wishes me a happy birthday.
And they can all be my forever friends anytime...
Anyway...It's not really my birthday...my human doesn't
know when I was born since I came to her full grown..but
she picked this date for me and it's okay...My birthday
was when she finally let me come in the house to live..that's
when I was born into a new happy loving life with a brother
and sisters and humans to care for me...and believe me I need
a lot of care...and they give me sooo much love....
I am getting much better...I eat pretty well..but........darn
it that lump on my leg just wont go away...the hematoma...now
I am pretty sure I'm due for another vet visit as it is
getting bigger....It doesn't bother me a lot...but you know
how our humans worry.
Well...thanks for remembering me on my "birthday"...
